Pretty in Pink Wedding by Kim Le

Got room for a preciously pink wedding?  Ha, I don’t even know why I ask.  When Kim Le sent me this wedding, my eyes started watering… literally.  It wasn’t just the pictures that excited me; the real tearjerker comes in the form of what Grant, the groom, had to say about the day and, more importantly, about his bride, Cylie Lyn.  Scout’s honor, I fell into a puddle on the floor when I read his words…

Take it away, Grant:

The day started out cloudy with a morning drizzle, but during our outdoor ceremony, the weather was sunny and pleasant.  To see everything we had individually planned for and selected come together was a truly amazing sight.  The colorful garden of our courtyard wedding was picturesque while the reception hall was elegant with fine food and service.  We really appreciated our photographer artistically capturing each planned thought and individual memories in pictures.  The only thing that was more amazing was seeing my bride walk down the aisle and admiring how stunning she looked. My heart kept skipping a beat, as I was very eager to have her beside me at the altar.  In fact, I was so anxious that I didn’t even wait for the pastor to say, “Who gives this woman to this man?”  I just tried to take her from her dad.  Our pastor’s message to us was about keeping our promise to love each other.  Having our family and friends there to witness this promise and declaration of love was very memorable and special.

I’ll let Cylie Lyn fill you in on all the delightful details that went into her fabulous big day:

Pink and brown are our favorite colors and were integrated throughout all wedding aspects.  We wanted to choose a venue that was elegant and intimate at the same time.  We were attracted to the architecture and elegance of The Turnip Rose at Grand Newport Plaza.  Their courtyard provided a beautiful and colorful setting for an intimate ceremony.  Their professional service and good food rounded out for a joyous celebration.  All papers including invitations, programs, seating cards, favor boxes, and thank you cards were ivory in color with chocolate decorative swirls by BRIDES wedding collection.  All printing and designs were completed at home by me, Grant and my maid of honor.  Framed table numbers were designed by me and my maid of honor and featured engagement pictures of the us by Kim Le Photography.  My bouquet was done with light pink and darker pink roses in a nosegay style, accentuating it with blush mini callas.  A matching calla was worn by the groom.  The bridesmaids held bouquets of pink and spray roses with pink bouvardia and light green foliage also done in a nosegay style.  The ceremony and reception centerpieces featured pink tone rose arrangements with seasonal mix premium flowers.

I chose my dress because of the stunning diamond-white hand-draped sweetheart bodice with the dropped waistline.  The wedding gown was designed by Sophia Tolli and purchased at The Dresser Bridal Couture in Fullerton.  Grant wore a black Joseph Abboud tuxedo with a pink paisley tie, all specially picked by me, for that special touch.  All the groomsmen were given pink argyle socks to compliment the theme.  The petal pink taffeta bridesmaids’ dresses, selected at Alfred Angelo, were accentuated by a satin chocolate brown sash, which were sewn by one of the bridesmaids.  Classical ceremony music was provided by the Loma Linda String Quartet.  I marched down the aisle to “Intermezzo” from “Cavalleria Rusticana” by P. Mascagni.  We chose Kim Le because of her talent and ability to artistically capture moments of emotion in her pictures.  Rockwell’s Creative Gourmet Cakes designed the five-tier square stacked cake.  It was adorned with strands and individual rhinestones and fresh pink roses.  Each layer featured a different cake flavor and filling.

Congratulations, Grant and Cylie Lyn!  Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful wedding with us!

xoxo, Alison of The Knotty Bride

I always dig a man in pink and purple argyle socks. Normally I dislike pink weddings (sacrilige, I know) but this does a nice job of accenting without becoming cloying.
