This happy, vibrant wedding is coming to us aaaaall the way from lovely South Africa. The continents may be different but the cute vintage details are very, very familiar. Huibri, the beautiful bride, handcrafted every single last detail of this day to perfection. She is a DIY goddess if I ever saw one and Splendid Productions snapped the pictures to prove it. Take a looky-loo in the gallery for more from this South African soiree.

I got married on November 21 at Riverside Castle in Pretoria, South Africa. It was perfect and everything I wanted it to be. We invited 120 guests and the wedding was filled with DIY projects. SMP was one of my biggest sources of ideas and even 5+ months after my wedding I still visit Style Me Pretty a few times every day! I am a graphic design/events manager so planning my wedding was my favorite thing ever and I wish I could get married every year! It really was a night I will never forget and I still get compliments daily about my wedding. Every detail was special for me because it took lots of work and effort to get everything perfect, but I wouldn’t have changed a thing!!!

What a beautifully fun wedding! The ice cream cart is an adorable, spunky detail and the matches are an oh-so-cute takeaway! What a fun-looking couple!
Is this dress designer on the web or is it a personal friend. I love the dress and can't find the name anywhere...
What an awesome wedding! so personal!
I am from South Africa(Johannesburg) and I don't see many weddings that is so DIY... I love it!
Thanx for sharing
Personalized ice cream cart? Too freakin' cute!!! I continue to be amazed by people's creativity.
Love the leaping groomsmen shoot. Looks like this wedding was a lot of fun!
So you madet he matchboxes and the buttons or do you order them?
What a cute couple and fabulous wedding! I would love to know more about the matches. I've been looking to make some for an upcoming wedding and only find those really cheesy plain ones. Please help get the creativity out!
:)
Hey, Where did you order your matchboxes at? I LOVE them! Im getting married and sept and i really want to get those same ones, i love the vintage look of them! Your wedding was soo beautiful!
Thanks for all the compliments about my wedding!!! It was such a fun wedding, I didn't want anything to formal but just a day to remember!
My dress was made by a family friend but you can contact me on huibri@rgcom.co.za if you want her details. Her work is always perfect and she is VERY affordable.
I made the matchboxes myself. i bought plain matchboxes for about 30c (South Africa c) each and designed the stickers myself and printed it on sticker paper and stuck them on! The design was also used on signage at the entrance to the venue!
If you are in South Africa and looking for any help with events or more detail about my wedding and vendors please contact me, I will be more than happy to assist in making your day perfect!
I can vouch for this one – it was an AMAZING wedding.
And what a honor to have been a guest at a wedding where a couple put so much effort into everything and leave us in awe when treading upon every small detail! This is only the beginning! The invites was so special, the table numbers, the dessert…Stalk her and ask her to email them to you….. You will be amazed!
WE ALL LOVE THE SCHALKWYKS!
Finally - a South African wedding on Style Me Pretty! I'm from Joburg and visit the site regularly for a dose of visual dessert. So excited to see that South African's too, can contribute to this awesome site. Congrats Huibri - on your marriage and for a beautiful, authentic, proudly SA wedding
Absoluut ongeloolik mooi!! Die foto's is regtig pragtig, en al die detail is stunning. Mens kan sien jy het dit soooo geniet om jou troue te beplan!
Dit lyk asof dit 'n super spesiale dag vol tonne liefde en lag was. Mag julle huwelik ook so wees!
I love all the vintage details! Just beautiful!
Matchboxes and an ice cream trolley - most likable items here. I agree, the idea is cool.
But what about guys jumping high, umbrellas, dog and the couple on the yellow background?
You can feel great fun, you can see imagination and I think traditional input (the braces - I like them)
It must have been an unforgettable day! :)
What an AWESOME wedding!! It's really great to see a South African wedding on SMP! I love everything about it and it looks like evryone had so much fun!! I love the ice-cream trolley and would love to have one at my wedding, did you hire one or was it a friend's? Does your company have a website by any chance?
Johanni
The ice cream cart is my own and we made the stickers for the side at our family signage company. The ice cream cart is now available for other events to hire. And we can fill them with a variety of ice cream, steri stumpie milkshakes or anything else you want. We can also design and personalise the cart for you.
You are more than welcome to give me a call or email me on pinkheartevents@gmail.com
Thank you!
I love the pictures and all the detail you have gone through. Your wedding definitely look like a LOT of fun!
I will be putting an article together for Vintage Weddings on our website!
