Backyard Wedding by A Simple Photograph

Rick and Kate, the Ontario couple behind this super sweet affair created the perfect day full of fresh details and loads of DIY. With herbs and greens as their decoration of choice, the result was edited and simple without forgoing the beauty and charm of a backyard wedding. And the images from A Simple Photograph? Rick and Kate were married in Kate’s family backyard in Southern Ontario. Kate and her mother did all of the planning and decorating themselves. They showed an amazing level of restraint in the decor yet the attention to detail was amazing and the final result appeared effortless. In leu of elaborate center pieces, Kate arranged pots of freshly planted herbs tied with a simple yellow ribbon. In fact the wedding had so few flowers so the few they did have seemed to sparkle with colour, making them appear that much more special! For a guest book, Kate created a photo album utilizing images from their engagement session. Friends of Rick and Kate provided all of the stationery and the tent was decorated in pure white with just the softest touches of yellow and grey. Just dreamy.

My favourite part of the evening was just after a quick rainfall, the sun had set and the tent glowed with oranges and yellows while the sky contrasted with a stormy blue. It couldn’t have been more beautiful! As a photographer, twilight is my favourite part of any outdoor reception, but for Rick and Kate the light just glowed.

   What beautiful pictures! There may have not been a lot of flowers, but the greenery certainly made up for it. Absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing.
