From Inspiration to Reality: The Design, III

I am pretty sure that you are as obsessed with this shoot as I am (in fact, I KNOW you are since you’re gushing just like me in the comments section). I am so thrilled that Drea and Casey Cunningham, Ivy Robinson, Ceci New York and the entire list of fabulous vendors came together to provide inspiration that I know will influence so many weddings, that will inspire so many brides. And an even bigger thank you to the fabulous Sofia for designing the inspiration board that started it all! Click here to see all of the photos!

Ivy Robinson was specifically inspired by the photo of the blue cocktail glass with the crystal earring.  She wanted to do all things clear, with clarity and sparkle and hence she used plexi for all sorts of purposes.  The signing board was made of plexi but embellished with crystals and hot pink letters to spell out the word love.  We envisioned that this couple would hang it up as a piece of modern art in their home.  The glass table, clear place settings were also all adorned with crystals and lastly the amazing plexi floral chandelier was a creation to behold.  Ivy hung the giant box shaped crystal chandelier to feature Ceci New York name cards, in the pink bow tie shape like our board’s earring.  And finally, I wanted Ivy to create an aisle to remember so she came up with a mirrored (safe to walk on) aisle, lined with plexi tubes with giant flowers growing out of them.  Something fantastical, whimsical but totally edgy and chic. See Ivy’s blog for DIY details.

No shoot is complete with our hair and makeup and we only work with the best.  Kymm Mclean of Who’s The Fairest and Mandi English of M Style Studio brought it all together with understated glamour that was gorgeous but touchable.  Our models looked and felt amazing after Kymm and Mandi worked their magic.

Lastly, Casey and I, Cunningham Photo Artists, felt that this board really allowed for imagination.  We wanted to tell the story of the couple who wanted this wedding.  We wanted love and romance to be palpable and for the spirit of celebration to be ever present in our lighting, imagery and direction.

This was really pretty, I definitely liked it, but I can't wait for the trend of taking pictures of the bride and groom's feet to go away. It was cute and interesting when it first started, but now it's everywhere, like the dessert buffet. I'm ready for something new to come along!

This is such an amazing inspiration to reality! It's definitely the best so far!

I'm crazy about the "LOVE" sign and would like to know how to recreate it. Where did you purchase the plexi, letters, and crystals. Any info would be appreciated!

    thanks!

I love the look of this wedding! Just a tip for the ladies also looking to create the "LOVE" signing board. I checked Ivy's blog and she was nice enough to provide the DIY info! I was able to locate the exact letters she used. they were at Target in the home decor isle near the picture frames. I actually picked up a few to use throughout my wedding they were only $12.99 and the letter decal comes with the crystals! The plexi was easily located at Lowes or Home Depot!

  11. Mary says:

Would anybody be willing to share the product #? I've been to 3 target stores so far with no luck! I'm going out again tomorrow, but this would be helpful!

    Mary,
I am sorry you are having a difficult time locating the decal...but here is the info I was able to get from the packaging.
Item# GC-508-00125 however on my receipt it rang up under item# 07412046 (wall decal) and the SKU on the PKG: 1135600660 . The item is distributed by DCWV Home or Once upon a wall.
Also I found it at my store on a end cap of an isle in the home decor section where are of the wall hangings, wall mirrors and picture frames are located. It is not easy to spot as it comes in an approx. 12" long clear TUBE hung by a white grosgrain ribbon, and there is only a small photo to the decal on the side of the tube. I myself almost didnt recognize it because of this...with that said I purchased all that were on the shelf at my store! Good Luck and I hope this helps!
