From Inspiration to Reality: The Design, II

April 23rd. 2010 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 42 comments

There were so many CRAZY beautiful ideas and elements that went into this shoot, so many steal-worthy ideas tucked inside each and every corner. The GORGEOUS invitations were designed by Lisa “Ceci” Hoffman of Ceci New York just for this shoot and they literally made my jaw drop. The jewelry was also custom designed for the day by the fabulous Kristin Morris. The hot pink florals, the clear chiavari chairs, the perfect desserts and the maids that are absolutely gorgeous…every little bit of this shoot is perfection. Ivy Robinson and Drea and Casey Cunningham are my new style heroes for sure.

We picked the Sofia’s styleboard because it was unique and vibrant and sexy. We felt like it was a standout and that it could help usher in a refreshing take on wedding day glamour. We kept the romance and the girlish sensibility but added a modern flair and charm that was achievable for any bride.

Ceci New York was inspired by the crystals and the seductive bustier. Lisa wanted to create pure romance with indulgence and glamour. She embellished nearly everything with crystals, designed some amazing laser cut plexi panels for the invite as well as the peony placemats and kept with the elegant feel of the board by using black as a grounding color. Fantasy, romance, elegance with a seriously modern twist make these invites so unique! Holly from Salutations Fine Stationery is thrilled to have been a part of this elegant suite and can’t wait to carry the consumer version in her store!

Amy Craparo from The Wow Factor Cakes was completely inspired by the little heart on the pretty pink pout. The sparkly lips transformed to a completely pink, edibly glittery cake. Handmade sugar peonies crown the amazing confection and a sweet bow and ruffled bottom pulled the whole board together in one creation.

Heather and Laura from Hayden Olivia Bridal set out to create modern elegance with a soft edge. They pulled from never before seen dresses from Modern Trousseaus newest collection and we kept envisioning a shrug and BOY did they come up with an AMAZING lambswool shrug! The crowing achievement was an elegantly inspired necklace and simple pearl earring from the talented Kristin Morris and a totally new bridal vision was born. For the maids, Heather and Laura wanted to play off of the varying pinks and keep the maids details streamlined and sweet.

For our groom, we had to come up with a look dreamy enough to fit this styleboard and Melissa Lamkin of Swanky Bride did a fantastic job. Sourcing local men’s retailers and some national chains, our groom came to life as a modern, romantic and sensible guy. We wanted him to look GQ but totally approachable. We would love to see more men forgo the tux for a handsome suit with serious style, one that they will actually wear again and again. See Melissa’s blog for details!

Love the style, but then again pink is my favorite color.
I love how fresh, bright and feminine it looks.
I must know what those delicious pink drinks are with the cream and berries! Looking at the picture made my mouth water.

This styleshoot is incredible. I really have no words. The invitations were out of this world! Ceci has done it again- that laser cut is beyond words; imagine receiving an invitation suite like that? Wow, insane! Love the bride's makeup, and jewells- BTW- I checked the site, and Kelly Morris has gorgeous pieces, but soo expensive! ;/ I love the cake; you can see the glitter; looks so delectably fragile, doesn't it! This would be such an incredible wedding if it were real! Expensive, but waaay gorgeous!

So. Fantastic, seriously. This has to be one of my favorite inspiration-to-reality shoots so far -- not just bc it's pink (hee!) but bc it was all done so *well*!! I mean, yes, they all are :D -- but, for example, the cake-interpretation of the lips? Love it! Gorgeous details everywhere -- fab job everyone!!

Hooray for Carolina's amazingly talented vendors. This is a seriously gorgeous shoot. Every detail is perfect and so true to the original board. I'm sure Brancoprata is delighted at how her vision came to life. Love this feature Abby, keep it up!

I adore the shrug. I'm wearing a very similar dress for my wedding in 1 month (May 22) and would love to have this shrug to accompany. Anyone know if it is available for purchase online or over the phone? I need a rush shipment on this piece now :)

    Hey Crystal!

The sweet little pink drinks, we wanted an alternate to the candy buffet. Easy peesy! Strawberry milkshakes, poured into mini bud vases for glasses, topped off with whip cream and a fresh blackberryfor color. You could easily serve these in an ice bucket to keep chilled but we wanted them to melt for the shot. Enjoy!
