From Inspiration to Reality: The Design II

I hope that you guys have fallen as in love with our Inspiration Shoots as I have and are able to see the incredible ideas for your own wedding tucked inside each and every detail. Going into this shoot, I knew that it was going to be amazing. With Beth Helmstetter at the wheel, Laura Hooper doing her thing with the incredible paper goods, Holly Flora crafting the stems, Steve Steinhardt on photography, and Mariana’s inspiration board…it was a no brainer. But I’m not sure I knew JUST how gorgeous it would be…

From Beth Helmstetter…Working with raw wood tables, is always a treat of mine, but given the rustic trend that had made them all the rage, I wanted them to feel somewhat fresh but also still special enough for an intimate spring wedding dinner. We choose Alencon lace as an overlay and accented the tables with press vintage glass vessels effortlessly arranged with the season’s best florals in shades that remind me of the springtime. Pops of yellows and greens donned everything from the stationery to the china and we added just a couple of hanging lanterns to add a bit of interest but not so much that they take away from the pureness of the dinner table.

The dessert display was heavily inspired by an old refrigerator Holly had collected months ago. I had been dying to find a use for it and filling it with spring inspired desserts like citrus tarts and lemon sorbet felt just right. We were further inspired by the venue when we decided to moss the refrigerator just a bit to make it appear as if it had been there for years and it had almost started to become part of the land. Sweet touches of fresh lemons in the egg shelf of the refrigerator softened and completed the overall look.

The models were all so lovely. From touches like a floral head band for the bridesmaid to the hemp that was wrapped around the bouquet of happy peonies, the overall look we were going for was both approachable and charming.

  3. Very nice. I did a babyshower that looked almost identical to this last year. :o}

  4. Breath-taking pictures! Love the grown. Need help picking out the perfect wedding gown? Schedule an appointment with celebrity stylist, Allison Berlin, to help make your ideal wedding come true!

  5. Are those orange roses? Anyway, these photos just feel so warm, I'm wondering if the air conditioning's working here. Plus, the angling in the photo's so well-composed and well-thought-of and yet not being overwrought. Such a relief to see something aspiring to beauty the right unpretentious way. I'm talking to you maker of bisaya short films.

    Wow, so beautiful!!! Is the bridesmaid model the bride from Beth's gorgeous Smog Shoppe wedding (featured on snippet and ink)??? She is so stunning, as is this design!

  7. Michelle says:

    What is the venue? I clicked on Holly Flora, but it gave no information...thanks.
