The word of the day is…color! We have SUCH a fun and colorfully gorgeous day for you on SMP, from our first real wedding that is ALL style to a really awesome rehearsal dinner that has so many vibrant ideas tucked inside. I owe my new found love of color to the incredible brides that are translating such vibrant hues into such elegant, creative and utterly gorgeous weddings. And this affair, photographed by the insanely talented Tanja Lippert, is about as good as it gets.

We loved the juxtaposition of the country setting with a fancy style, yet relaxed style. We choose all white candles and flowers in the Redwood Grove to highlight the formality of the ceremony and the serene beauty of the grove. For the cocktails on the lawn and the reception, we did not want a particular color scheme. We loved the idea of many bright jewel-tone colors of the flowers and lanterns offset by the dark wood of the barn at the reception. An eclectic uniformity was the goal, rather than a formal or overly designed look. Let me know if you need more write-up about the wedding!

I can't wait to share this beautiful wedding with my friends and family!!

Were they married by a Catholic priest? How did they go about arranging him to do an outdoor wedding? I've been considering doing the same thing! I would appreciate her suggestions!!

  27. Tessa says:

Wow!! What a breath of fresh air...I love all of the color! The barn looks incredible with all of the brightly-colored lanterns. I bet this was such a fun party! (And don't even get me started on those shoes!)

  28. christina says:

the ceremony in the middle of the woods is just beautiful! i love it!!

  29. chandra says:

I especially love all of the photos of the lanterns- so colorful and festive. Gorgeous wedding.

And I noticed Michelle's question above regarding an outdoor Catholic wedding- I know for my own wedding we had to ask the bishop permission to have a priest marry us in an outdoor ceremony...and we were denied. So we had our outdoor ceremony anyways, minus the Catholic stuff, and we were happy it worked out that way. But I know another couple in my same area who did have a Catholic ceremony outside- because their priest was willing to say he married them elsewhere, in a church. Hope that helps.

  30. kjb says:

i am positive there has never been a more beautiful bride. & that dress!

  31. ashley says:

I love her bouquet.. what are the flowers in it?

  33. Nora says:

This dress is probably the most beautiful one I have seen on this blog! Congratulations!!

  34. Rose says:

Simply Beautiful!!!! I also would love to know more information on their ceremony. Did a priest actually marry them? If so could you provide what church helped them? We have been trying to be married outside, and yes the bishop route will always be denied so it helps if this bride has any tips!!!

  35. Brittney says:

LOVE LOVE LOVE the use of nature and nature inspired VIBRANT colors!!!

  36. Kerry Scott says:

This wedding was stunning! How often can someone find a pristine barn that fits lots and lots of colored paper lanterns! Glad to see the idea come to life. Also... love the bride's shoes! I'd like a pair!

  37. Kelly S. says:

Just a thought, this might be an episcopalian wedding, I could be wrong though.

  38. Zara O says:

does anyone knw whether its possible to get ines di santo in england?? I love the style of her dress and their beautiful designs! The whole ceremony is so romantic and vibrant!

  39. Ashley says:

OMG this wedding is beautiful!!! Where did the bride get those shoes....I've been looking everywhere (Nieman's, Barneys etc.) I can't find them in that color! I absolutely love them!!!!!!

  40. Kiersten says:

This wedding is absolutely stunning! I especially love the wedding gown by Ines di Santo. I have been looking all over the internet for it, but the closest thing I have found is a gown from her fall 2008 collection that isn't an exact match. Does anyone know what the name of this dress its? I would love to wear at my wedding.
