I am just going to dive right into today’s featured From Inspiration to Reality Shoot by the FAB Megan Fickling of La Partie Events and Sweet Monday Photography‘s adorable (and crazy talented) duo April and Lindsey. Because really, the photographs all speak for themselves…and their absolutely perfect, totally girly, totally chic perfection. To see Shawna’s inspiration board that started it all click here. And if you’re anything like me and seriously can’t wait to see all of the images, click here.

We always think it’s a good idea for couples to start planning the look and feel of their day based around what aspect is most important to them, and for us, that was the FOOD! Our design began to come together as we discussed ideas for the sweets table and the guest favors. We knew we’d have some pies, but we also wanted to incorporate some other treats, and the bundt cake and sea salt caramels made their way into the plan. We brought Amy from the wonderful Vanillla Bake Shop on board to create a cake that would be a perfect mix of the down home feel of the rest of our desserts and the more glam elements we were bringing in with the rest of the shoot. Once we found a perfect pink birdcage veil for our bride, Amy gave our cake a veil of it’s own! For our favors, we selected artisan cheeses and gave each guest a wedge of their own, along with cheese knives and mini graters.
Next we brought in Megan Gonzalez of MaeMae Paperie and calligrapher Kathryn Murrayy to create the paper goodness that would tie all the parts of the day together. Especially when incorporating several different “feels” in a wedding, as we did, it’s wonderful to have a suite of paper elements to unify the look, from the invitation through the reception.

I can't turn away from this computer...I keep checking back :) My dream wedding scheme has come to life! This is gonna be perfect for my Texas wedding!
I am swooning over the flowers and details...Just incredible! I am addicted to this blog ..:)
I love the very first picture; the bouquet is simple yet so stunning! And the wedding dress.....gorgeous! I must say....I'm swooning over all the deatils too :)
you are so talented shawna! i love the home-style-elegant-chic. i want you to conceptualize my wedding one day ;)
can anyone tell me the flowers at the top, the bridesmaid ones, what are those and the branches. I need to know... help! and are they available in the fall, because that's my wedding date. thanks!
Beautiful! Are those wooden cream flowers in the bridal bouquet?
Hi everyone! So glad you love the flowers and design. Yes, the cream flowers are wood flowers. The floral arrangements also includes black berries, pink roses, pink orchids, black pussy willow and pink nerine. I don't know the exact name of the black berries or the pink flowers around the exterior of the bridesmaid bouquet but you can always take the photo to your florist. They are both available between Jan-March so no fall weddings, I'm afraid. I often see flowers at the mart and use them without memorizing the names. My process is organic in that sense. Enjoy! Meg, La Partie Events
The color palette is so beautiful!
Could that dress be any more fabulous?? I think not. Seriously one of the most gorgeous dress (and photo shoots!) that I have ever seen!!
Wow!!! Love it so so so so much!!!! I want this for my wedding!! Thank you so much!
I'm Shawna's mom and I just saw the site - O-M-G! I'm finally on here and already addicted to creating new boards. This look is amazing! The blackberry with soft pink combination is gorgeous together and something I have never seen before - absolutely beautiful!
Megan - I've seen so many of your SoCal weddings across these pages and they're just wonderful. I've been looking for natural berry containers like the ones used here since we got engaged...do you know where I can find those?
Also, the berries are a type of viburnum...I'm holding out hope my wholesaler can get them on the east coast this June!
This is a beautiful wedding, but my fvourite detail has to be the bouquet with the berries in! blueberries, blackberries, berry mad :)
