There are things in life that really get my goat* in a good way – easily at the top of that list would be puppies, chalkboards and old pick-up trucks . (I grew up in Tennessee, hence the love for the trucks). That’s why when the completely adorable couple, Amira & Brandon, passed along their engagement pictures I thought two things: 1.)I love them (& their fantastic photographer) and 2.)They knew exactly what elements to use in their shoot to wrap me around their delightful fingers. These will definitely make you smile today. And I like that.
*Get my goat: a phrase I overuse but truly love.

Also, I will need to add “turquoise upholstered chairs” to my list of favorites . The one below is her Great Grandmother’s. The awesome yellow truck in the photos above – it’s his Grandfather’s. How precious is that? See what I mean, Amira & Brandon are good at wrapping me around their cute fingers…

A few words from the charming bride-to-be:
I really wanted a vintage, country feel and our photographers captured what I wanted perfectly. We used Brandon’s grandfather’s truck that had been passed down to him. It’s still in great condition and it was special that we could use it for the photos. The funky, blue chair was my great grandmother’s, and I’m glad that we could incorporate it as well. We chose to take the pictures in Tenaja, CA which is where my family home is. I’ve always loved the huge oak trees, and thought it would make the perfect setting for our engagement pictures. We had such a good time shooting these pictures. Greg and Tim from Brightwood Photography did a wonderful job!
A wonderful job indeed! Thanks so much for getting my goat today (in a good way, of course).
XOXO, (the other) Abby from Life in the Super Burbs

What a great session. Beautiful couple, great light, classic ride and the chalk board.
Lovely- really like the creative use of the great chair and chalkboard!
Excellent shoot. I particularly like the photo of them sat on the car. It speaks volumes about the couple without having to show faces... Lovely!
I like that the photographer used meaningful things like the truck and the chair, but perhaps the photographer should have captured more of the "huge oak trees" that the bride-to-be referenced and less of the highway? Might have been much more natural and less staged... just my two cents!
LOVE this shoot, where is the dress from?
Hey, I'm Andressa, from Brazil. I read all the posts every single day, and I fall in love with each picture! I really want the most wonderful wedding. Style Me Pretty is helping me to have great ideas. Hope someday I can send my pics.
XoXo from far far away!
I love both the dresses she wore in this shoot! Where are they from?
What a cute shoot! Awesome location :)
so fun! love the street shots with the chair as their prop!
Beautiful couple! where is the white dress from?
The groom's mother is my niece. I have known the groom since he was a toddler. These young people are beautiful, intelligent, and dedicated to traditional values. The photography is technically, artistically, and culturally superb. I join their parents in a sense of great pride and joy.
Wow! Brandon got married! I haven't seen him in ten years since college. I was looking at the post about Jared and Claire's wedding, which I attended, then scrolled down to the next blog and saw someone very familiar. Congrats!
What a lovely and creative set of engagement photos, they light style of them makes for compelling viewing. I love looking at other photographers work and this is some top quality stuff.
thanks for sharing.
