I love the classic calligraphy invitation suite. It's just so, well, classic!
Hi everyone. Please remember to let us know about your most memorable thank you as well as the design you'd like to win! Thanks!
how is it possible to pick just one that i like??! if i must i will say the SEASONAL design is beautiful, i love the quilted ness of the card with the simplicity if the treelike design on the side. love love love.i feel the most memorable thank yous are the ones where you aren't expecting anything at all, for instance when i hosted some friends in NYC & their beautiful thank you card came in the mail a week later I was reminded of the fun times that we had together in the city and honored to have hosted them :)
I love the Barcelona suite. It has such a sweet, simple, vintage feel. Add a little orange to the blue and that would totally match our wedding. Thanks for the give away - fingers crossed!!
Oh... most memorable thankyou... I was out of town at a swim meet during college and my fiance (well, boyfriend at the time) baked me a thankyou apple pie as a surprise for when I got back. He didn't have a car at school so talked my roommate into taking him to the store and showing him how to bake an apple pie. I was so impressed {and 6 years later} I think that's the last thing he's baked and one of the best thankyous I've ever gotten.
I am digging Canopy, but I think the Iconic sets are adorable and it's so great that Bella Figura accommodates all couples.
My most memorable thank you came from my fiance after I said yes to the proposal. There was no question I'd say yes, but he was still nervous and looked so relieved when I did say yes. I thought it was funny that he said thanks - it's not like I'm doing him a favor. ;)
Oh gorgeous letterpress... it doesn't get any better than that! I have admired Bella Figura for quite some time now, and now that I am engaged, I actually get to think about letterpress for my wedding. My absolute favorite line of theirs is the Classic Calligraphy... it's timeless, traditional, and extremely elegant.
As for my most treasured piece of stationery, it has to be the handwritten note my best friend (and MOH) wrote to me asking if I would be her MOH. We have been through so much together, and to know that she wanted me to stand next to her on her wedding day was more than I could have ever hoped for.
I cannot get enough of the Spinnerette design! It just melts me inside. Last year, my mother had surgery to remove a schwannoma (a type of tumor) from her neck. We are from Florida, but went to a special hospital in Boston for the surgery. I am currently living and working in DC and to help everyone out decided to go up to Boston for the week to take care of her. My mom has had issues since I was young and I have sat through surgeries many times before, but this one was just so scary. So many things could go wrong. The surgery ended up better than we expected and we spent the rest of the time in a hotel near the hospital having little picnic lunches, playing games and watching movies. I know it seems crazy to have this backstory, but my mom sent me a thank you note after she returned home and discussed how our week together made her stronger. It still makes me teary eyed today. She wrote of how proud she is of the woman I've become and how I inspire her. It seems crazy to me as she is the inspiration! I keep the note in my wallet with me along with an amazing photobooth strip of my mom and I from eight years ago.
I love the Hendrix style. My most memorable thank you was when my mom told me how thankful she was that I still call her all the time to talk. It made me realize how close we have become over the years and that she is truly my friend as well as my mother.
They have so many great designs it's hard to choose - I'd go with either the Adirondack or even the Vendage suite. Both would be perfect for our Pacific Northwest outdoor wedding with bird notes running throughout.
As far as my most memorable thank you, it was from my grandma. She's getting older, and more frail, everyday. I know how much she hates writing notes these days because her shaking handwriting really distresses her. One Christmas I found her looking at the stack of cards she still wanted to write, shaking and crying because it was just too much. They never did get done that year. So every card, every note, whether personal or a thank you, touches me more than ever before.
How to choose?? I love them ALL!! So gorgeous, chic and glamorous!! I was really drawn to Dolce but I'm in love with them all. I am really keen on sending thank you notes for everyone and I love getting them in return. I recently sent a good friend a bridal shower gift and she wrote back a wonderful note - it was personal, lovely and has been on my fridge ever since! Thanks so much for the beautiful giveaway, and always love your blog!!
The most memorable thank you note I've received was from my best friend's younger brother & his wife after their wedding. Instead of just saying thank you, they described their reaction when they opened the gift (I believe it involved jaws on the floor); I have never felt better about a gift I've given to anyone.
These thank you's are absolutely georgous, and I have to say that this may be serendipitous, as I just initiated my wedding invitation order with Bella Figura this morning, but didn't include thank you notes so we could stay within our budget!
Spinnerette!
I was a graduate assistant for a year in college and about a year after I had graduated I received an e-mail from a student who thanked me for all of the time I had spent helping him. He went on to tell me that I contributed to his success in college, his ability to graduate early, and his success after college. I had received many thank-yous but that particular one has always stood out.
I love Joy the most! I also love Spinnerette and Lana though!
My most memorable thank yous have been from my students. I work at a college and I know that they are busy people so when they take the time to drop off a card or stop to pause and thank me after an event it means so much to me! I love my job because of them!
I just died when I saw the {ollie} design - love doesn't even describe it! It's precious, elegant, down right perfect! My most treasured thank you came from my 95 year old grandmother, who I call "Sweet". Sweet thanked me for being her "angel" and calling to see how she's doing on a regular basis. She has always been such a doll to me, and I admire her so much. I feel like I need to thank HER instead. I treasure her notes and have them displayed in my kitchen to remind me everyday of her.
love love the string calligraphy!
my most memorable thank you is any time my litter sister thanks me for being a good big sister to her...i definitely nag her a lot and we're constantly bickering (we're sisters!) but really, i have only the best of intentions for her, and it's nice to know that deep down she knows...
oh my gosh. it's impossible to choose. I've long adored the string calligraphy but the circolo would be so perfect with our confetti themed wedding!
I think the best thank you've I've ever gotten (and luckily, receive regularly) is a clean plate. I love to bake, and there really is no better thank you than to have your friends licking their fingers and to send you home with a clean plate. makes me smile every time.
I adore the ollie design that is featured above! Sometimes the best thank-you's are the simplest. My sweet Cameron bought me a fabulous wallet I had been eyeing for months, just as a sweet gesture of thanks for supporting him and his future plans for his business. He is the best at suprises! Who knew a wallet could be such a sweet and romantic gesture - but it was for me! I felt so loved when he popped by my apartment with his gift and a sweet note.
I absolutely ADORE the tasha design: it's so ornate yet so traditionally simple that I love it.
I recently took photos of some of my friend's fine art so that she could start her own website & ETSY store. I casually mentioned that I loved her watch that she was wearing. She tried to pay me for taking pics, but she's my BFF so I told her absolutely not, that I was just excited that she was starting to realize her passion in art & get her business started. A week later, I got the FABULOUS clear & crystal watch from her, it meant the world! I really appreciate the little things that go a long way to sharing the gratitude that you feel when someone goes out of their way to be nice. I hope I win some thank you notes so that I can share the joy and my gratitude with others!!
I love the Barcelona! Those details are gorgeous!! It looks a bit like the ceiling of our reception venue too :)
the best thank you.....my good friend came to see me abroad. while we were there, i took her to a favorite store of mine, she bought some adorable stationary. later, after i was back in the states, she used the stationary to write and thank me. It was so great to get her warm message and it was so great to see that stationary again and think of our travels together :) i have it pinned up so i can see it each day.
I love the Connemara design. It reminds me so much of the wallpaper at our reception venue. We're celebrating in a restored turn-of the century mansion. The wallpaper is embossed leather!
The most memorable, unexpected thank you came out of my job. I worked in retail, bridal actually, at the time. One weekend, I had a very large bridal party come in during a store promotion event, one where the bridal party had a large range of shapes, sizes, and style preferences. I worked with the bride for a few hours, finding the perfect dress for each BM, and then tracking down each size in our national inventory. I thought I was just doing my job, and did not think anything of the effort to find the perfect dress for this bride. About a month later, I received a phone call from the Company Vice President. The Bride, and her BM/FSIL, wrote an incredibly touching thank you letter to the head of the company, sharing how easy and wonderful I had made this bit of her wedding planning experience. I was so grateful, and still remember working with the bride's group. Planning my own wedding now makes the thanks that much more meaningful, because I can appreciate her perspective.
I love the sumersby design. It has that little hint of whimsy that I am looking for.
The best thank you that I got was from my mom last Mother's Day. She said that I make the best homemade desserts. That meant a lot to me since we don't always see eye to eye on things.
I adore the classic calligraphy invitation suite! It so timeless and elegant. The best thank you I have ever received--and am fortunate enough to continue to receive every day--is from my fiance's rescue dog. It might sound cheesy, but one look in her eyes and you would totally understand what I mean. She is such a bundle of joy and love and appreciates every bit of affection she receives...I know her jumps and tail waggles and running circles of excitement are all little thank you's.
I absolutely adore the "Astor". It reminds me of a beautiful iron gate. I think thank you notes are too often underused today, but I am very happy that they are making somewhat more of a comeback. A thoughtful hand-written note should not only be used apres-wedding in my opinion, but is still a genuine and meaningful way to show thanks to those close to you.
The most memorable thank you note/gesture I remember receiving was when I was quite young- probably 10 or 11 years old. My younger brother and I took care of our mother's co-worker's cats over a summer when she was away in Europe, visiting her family. When she returned, as a gift of thanks, she gave us each a pad of artist paper and beautifully colored pencils. We were ecstatic and completely surprised- we had so much fun taking care of the cats and did not consider being thanked at all! Our mother made us write thank you notes for the generous gift...and her coworker laughed about receiving a thank you note for a thank you gift. That was perhaps one of the first times we had written thank you notes, and very memorable to this day!
I am in the process today of ordering their Deveril design - so simple, classic and gorgeous! They have been a dream to work with too. They sent me a beautiful box full of samples and info before I ordered, they helped me with etiquette and they caught all of my mistakes during the proofing process. Love them and wish thank you's were in my budget!!
My most memorable thank you came from a friend who had her baby 2 months early. She was caught a little off guard, so I went to buy her everything she would need for the baby to help her get ready to bring her home. During a stressful time it meant so much to her and she told me that she would never, ever forget my help & support. I'll soon be the baby's godmother :)
Love Vignette and Sevilla! Too hard to pick just one!
The best thank you I received was for a simple card that I gave my fiance. It was a Christmas card that I had found in November while on a cruise to St. Thomas. I was giving him tickets to a sporting event with his favorite team as part of his Christmas gift and thought the card was the perfect way to deliver them. While the game has come and gone, that card still remains on his bookshelf in prominent view to this day. He loved it so much that he told me he wanted to keep it in view. It's a continual reminder to me of his thankfulness for me and how even simple gestures can be so appreciated. I love seeing that card each time I'm at his apartment :)
The Joy letterpress folded thank-you cards would be such an awesome addition to our big day. I'd love to share the gift of letterpress with our guests, and it's not just in our budget for invites. The design would really accent the letterpress, and we have a dot motif going for the wedding.
The most memorable thank you I've received was from my now-late grandmother. I had just moved to a different state for my first job after college, and it was my first trip back for the holidays. She gave me the biggest, firmest hug and whispered how happy she was to see me and how proud of me she was and thanked me for living life the way I wanted and not be afraid to try new things. That memory will stick with me forever, and these cards would remind me of her every time I recognize someone else's great generosity.
these are all beautiful! it is hard to pick just one! though i think i must say my favorite is the "Urbanity." love the simplicity and details!
my church does an awesome thank you every year for their volunteers. we usually get a personalized note from the staff members we work with and one year they rented a limo, had us get in the limo and get our picture taken getting out, then they paraded us through all the staff members (20+ people), who clapped and cheered and hi-fived us the whole way through! it was so crazy and fun. after that they did some sort of traditional dinner where you fill a pot of food and dump it on the table, and we ate that way!!
My most memorable thank you was in an acknowledgement of a book. I work in educational publishing and a colleague had been working towards finishing her professional book and I spent weeks on end helping guide her through the process. She thanked me for my time and commitment to her project and told me that my guidance would change the lives of students forever. Not only was it a thoughtful statement, she thanked me in front of an entire world of readers she she added this to her acknowledgments page of her book.
Birch is my favorite. Not only am I an outdoor enthusiast, I truly believe that simplicity is beautiful. When you are in love, I think the love itself is enough and simplicity is more beautiful and classic than anything.
My favorite design is the Ollie design. I absolutely love the grays and oranges as well as the stitching. The colors mesh well together and the design just looks fresh.
The best correspondence I've received was a few years ago while working retail. I met an older gentleman that just liked to come into the watch store I worked at to admire the beautiful watches. We became friends and had realized that we had art in common. I was going to school at the time to pursue my degree and had told him about this. A few months later, around graduation, I received a card in the mail from this gentleman. He sent it to the store to congratulate me on my graduation and I just thought it was very thoughtful of him to think of me. I will never forget it.
The cards are all so beautiful! I love the Dewdrop cards, modern and chic!
My fiance and I keep a stack of notecards by our bed and each night we right a thank you note to the other person for something we are grateful for. It usually something simple, like cooking my favorite meal or taking the dog for a walke ven though it was my turn. These aren't grand gestures but they remind us daily that we appreciate each other and the sweet little notes are saved in a box as a wonderful keepsake.
I love the Avion design.
Several weeks ago, I forwarded along to one of my employer's major patrons some photographs I had taken of her.
A few days later, a hand-address, plain front envelope showed up in my mailbox. The back had an address blind embossed on it and, when I opened it up, i saw her monogram blind embossed on some of the most exquisite paper I'd ever seen. Seeing this classy thank you note inspired me and I've been writing thank-you notes (almost) every day since.
I'd love to have a fine card to send instead of what I've been able to pick up locally.
I love the spinerrette, sp??
The most meaningful, memorable thank you I have ever received was from on of my first patient's.
I had seen the patient as a hospital follow up on multiple joint pain. My first thought was oh geez not another one, but after hearing her story I really knew there was something going. This patient had seen over 20 doctors over a 4 year period and nothing was ever found. After ordering an array of testing I was able to accurately diagnose this patient and send her to the necessary specialist. The day I told her the news she took both my hands and tearfully told me I had been sent to her by God and that I was the most compassionate, understanding doctor she had ever met. Her mother and daughter sent me the sweetest letter which I have in my office for motivation everyday. In a job like mine it's easy to lost and lose compassion but people like her help me remember that sometimes I really can help. Oh, wow I cry just thinking about her.
Hello, I love the Provenance design. There are so many to choose from. The most memorable thank you I have ever received was a hand drawn card from a child I had given tennis lessons to. It was a very nice thank you because it took time and effort for her to do it herself. Thanks!
How can I choose? There are so so many gorgeous designs? Vendage is just breathaking. I would love to use this design!
I have been assistant to my longtime boss, legendary Rock-n-roll photographer Michael Zagaris (http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/michael-zagaris/memorabilia/ ) for 8 years. I love him dearly, and wonder how he graces me with his talents! He wrote me the kindest thank you card last year at Christmas. I grew up (19-27 yrs old) under his wing. I quote:
"Sara - as you grow older...as far as your tenure on the planet lengthens, your knowledge and wisdom expands..yet life grows seemingly more complex. Your greatest attribute, though, is your ability to love and your compassion for most everyone you meet. You have enriched my life more than I could ever explain. You fill me with pride (that you've come into my life) and love...because you radiate love and serenity to all around you. Thank you for gracing me with your love and presence.
Love,
Z"
My favorite suite is the Anthology Live & Love suite - so adorable!
My most memorable thank you came after my friend's dad passed away a few months ago. I hadn't really been expecting the thank you, but it came a couple months after the funeral. It was so sweet and genuine, and handwritten by my friend. She's not the type to express any kind of emotion very easily, but she was so genuine in her thanks for my being at the funeral that it actually made me tear up a little bit! The thought and gesture was so nice, but so unnecessary!
I've been salivating over Bella Figura's invitations ever since I got engaged in September. I think I'd have to go with Irving. I'm a sucker for beautiful, simple type... it's so elegant and clean and it lets the quality of the paper be the focus.
Recently, my best friend and her husband moved into their new condo, but their new stove/oven didn't arrive for a couple of weeks after their move-in date. My fiance and I spent an entire weekend creating a week's worth of food, portioned out and ready to eat. We were both so beat after that, but then the look on their faces when we delivered it was priceless and when I received her thank you note in the mail, I knew it was the best house-warming gift possible!
Esperanza, definitely! I love the bright colors, the subtle yet intricate pattern and the lovely script. I think it really says so much about a wedding (at least my wedding!) - simple & pretty, yet very fun & loving!
The most memorable thank you note I've ever received has nothing to do with fancy paper. I had sent a birthday card to a current student at my alma mater. This lovely girl mailed me back the sweetest thank you note, on actual stationary (not letterpress of course) but in an envelope with a stamp. Now, that may seem like a small task, but I remember my days as a freshmen in college - and I have great respect for the college student who finds the time to hunt down stamps, envelopes & stationary and actually hand-write a note...instead of posting on a facebook page.
I absolutely adore the details of the "Mimosa" print. It's elegant, yet not so stuffy and serious at the same time. I love the soft edges and the playfulness of it.
My favorite design would have to be the Amici. I love the simplicity and romance of it. The small heart is also just so precious!
As for the best thank you I have ever received, it would have to be a water bottle and post-it from two co-workers. The two co-workers were men in our creative department, a department known for not really socializing with the rest of our advertising agency as well as being pretty mean at times. We had been working tirelessly on a project that kept us late at work, stressed out and frustrated. I came into work the morning after we launched our campaign and there was an eco-friendly water bottle (our campaign was all about being "green") and a simple post-it that said " Dear Jamie, Thanks a ton for all your help, positive energy and enthusiasm with the HS launch, We appreciate it. Cheers! Vince and Madhu". I think because it was so unexpected and so thoughtful, I just loved it! The post-it is still taped to the wall of my cubical and I look at it every time my job gets me down. It makes me smile, keeps me motivated and reminds me why I love my job.
There were so many wonderful designs, it was hard to chose. But I had to go with the new calligraphy. I love calligraphy in the first place and the angle just adds that modern feel. I feel so fancy just looking at it!
As for the best thank you. I received it this past year from one of my best friends after her baby shower. I had traveled to go to the baby shower and when I opened the thank you, it was filled with her bubbly curly handwriting from top to bottom. She thanked me for being there and for making the trip and then she went in to all the reasons she appreciated my friendship, reminding me of old inside jokes like the time we were laughing so hard she spit grapefruit juice on my face, or the time we made a video for school and I was Wynona Judd and she was Whitney Houston. it was so personal and made me laugh and cry. I still have it up on my fridge today.
My favorite design is tara. It has the perfect vintage/rustic feel that we are going for for our wedding. It is going to be over 4th of july weekend with the ceremony at a 1915 lighthouse and the ceremony in my parents 1880's farm house. My favorite memory of someone thanking me, was I had been there for a friend through a very rough patch; over about a year she had gone through a lot and gotten so much stronger. At the end she got me a simple purple rose just to say thanks for being there through it all. It ended with us both in tears!
This is tough, but I am between canopy and ville-marie. I love them both equally!
The best card I ever received was while I was spending a semester abroad during college and a friend of mine sent me a just-because card. The front said, "Do I have something in my teeth?" and the inside she had written, "I can always count on you to tell me when I have spinach in my teeth. miss you"
I agree with everyone else- so incredibly hard to pick a favorite! I can't decide between the Onalisse (perfect colors for our wedding in the beautiful southwest) and the Balsam Calligraphy (totally awesome whimsical writing I wish I could do myself)! I would probably go with the Onalisse, though, because the colors are so stunning.
I work at a magazine, and this grandfather took a picture of his baby granddaughter holding the magazine and sent it in. I thought it was adorable and published it, thinking nothing of it. As soon as that issue came out I received a lovely flower arrangement on my desk from the grandpa, telling me what a joy it was to see his grandbaby in the magazine. I mean, who does that?! I was so touched!
first off- i am in complete love with this company. so chic and respectable. i would be honored to be involved in something like this one day.
my favorite design is the Canopy.
my most memorable thank-you was from an elderly black woman who lost her ability to walk. a team of us gathered up and decided to re-roof her small house. when done, she gave us all a bible. her weathered face and teary eyes will be an image forever stamped on my heart.
cartoccio & nouveau are lovely!
i love all things pretty, papery, and delicate, and bella figura has provided lots of delicious eye candy since i became engaged this past winter. i jumped at the change to enter this contest, since letterpress doesn't stand a chance in our budget, sadly. reading all the answers is a lot of fun too.
when i worked in public television several years ago, i remembered that a colleague (who i barely knew) coveted the vegan brownies at moosewood in upstate new york. i went camping in the area with my now-fiance, and stopped in and picked her up some brownies on a whim. several weeks later, she left the most beautiful silk-screened canvas bag with 'ithaca' stamped across the front in my inter-office mailbox as a thank-you. i still have the bag, though i lost touch with her when i switched jobs. she is a wonderful person, and her thoughtfulness always sticks with me.
I love emile, ollie, tara, antoinette, circolo and hendrix 3, but my absolute, hands down, blow my mind favorite is by far new calligraphy!
The most memorable thank you note I ever received was from my (now) fiance. We had been doing the long distance thing for over two years, and at one point, he hid a lovely little "thanks for visiting me, I love you!" note in my carry-on for me to read when I was sad and missing him on the plane. I slept with on my bedside table for ages.
My favorite is the Antoinette, but there were quite a few that caught my attention!
The best thank you I ever received was from the mother of a boy that I babysat while in college. I was in school and needed a few extra bucks and she was a lawyer with a demanding schedule and a one-year old. I watched over him for 2 years, so when I graduated and left the state, it was very difficult for me, her and her son. Her thank you was to take my family and me to brunch on graduation weekend. There she basically told my family how I had grown to be a part of their family over the past two years and how I would bend over backwards whenever she needed a sitter. She gave me a wonderful card, a Coach planner with my school's homecoming circled and a ticket to come down that weekend hoping that I would visit them in 6 months or so. It was so sweet and I couldn't have been more greatful. When I came down for homecoming I couldn't believe how quickly her son had grown...and I couldn't believe she was pregnant with twins! While the card and Coach planner were great, getting to see them again was the best thank you I could've asked for! Its been 5 years since I graduated and we often keep in touch through email and phone.
The wedding invitations from Bella Figura have been a favorite of mine since I first started dreaming about my wedding, which, I won't lie was long before seven months ago when I got engaged. I love the Estrella design that matches the feeling and colors of our planned California Wine Country perfectly. Lovely!
I love Keswick! I am planning on placing my invitation order with Bella Figura once I finalize my budget! (The wedding budget definitely goes much too quickly!) Anyway, my nicest thank yous always come from my parents. As I have gotten older our relationship has strengthened and they always say "thank you" for everything from helping them shop for something, or even just meeting them for dinner. As if THEY should be thanking ME! It should definitely be the way around. But they have taught me to be appreciative for everything they have given me and every day that I have with them.
Love sevilla!
My most memorable thank you was for a bit of graphical artwork I pulled together for a cover for my mom's book that she was self-publishing. I was just happy to help her out, but she acknowledged that in the first couple pages of her book!
The Joy design is totally stellar! My most memorable thank you was from a group of students I worked with in the Marshall Islands. On my (and my co-teacher's) last day working in their special/deaf education classroom, they all performed a traditional dance while singing and signing. It was awesome. :)
The PALAIS is my absolute favorite! Love the monogram detail!
My most memorable thank you was from my younger brother. I took him on a special trip for his graduation gift and after we got back home (and he had left my place) I found a sweet note written on a memento from our trip, thanking me for being the best big sister. Definitely a memorable thanks!
#1. thank you for this offer!
#2. I love the Sailboat. My fiance just joined the Navy!
#3. the best thank you i ever got was a "just because" thank you. my former supervisor was retiring and to say goodbye she gave me all these silver pewter ornaments that she had collected over the years. She said she always appreciated my hardwork and knew that i collected pewter ornaments! these ornaments had been given to her by a customer of hers each year for christmas over the past 10 yrs!
I love love love the classic calligraphy. its just so timeless and perfect for the feel I am going for with my wedding.
I always find a nice handwritten note is always a great thank you. In a world with email, its so nice to see someone who took the time to write a note to me. Its rare to get anything handwritten anymore!
LOVE the Vignette! So beautiful!!
My best thank you was from my future wedding DOC, who offered FREE DOC services after I offered her a photoshoot. I wasn't expecting anything in return, and just wanted to help her, so I was elated when she offered her services! : )
I love the Dewdrop design! We have been swooning over it since our engagement began (and are hoping to order them, but still have so many details to hash out).
The most heartfelt thank you I ever received was about 15 years ago. I was a senior in high school and volunteered at an afterschool center for low income families. Every year at Christmas, we held a "bazaar" for the children, most of whom had never given or received a Christmas present before. Each child was given five tokens (each good for one present). We each took a child around the "store" and they could pick out any five presents for family or friends. We then sat down and wrapped and tagged everything so the children could really get into the spirit of the holidays. To make a long story short, that year, a 9 year old named Isabella gave me a present -- a blue glass vase. Rather than spending her last token on something for herself or her best friend, she thanked me for spending time with her when her mom couldn't, and wished me a Merry Christmas. I still wonder what happened to Isabella and if she thinks of me at Christmas, like I do her.
My favorite is the Estrella - the combination of fonts is beautiful and traditional-feeling, but unique.
The best thank you I ever got was from my grandmother - I had spent a week with her across the country to help take care of my hospitalized great aunt, and she said thank you by cooking all of my favorite foods for the week!
I LOVE provenance. I think out colors (red and teal) will really POP on them!
And my most memorable 'thank you" was one I received from a group of students I helped chaperon on a trip to President Obama's inauguration. Keeping 15 college freshmen together in the chaos was tough, but it was an powerful experience that we now share! Afterward, I received the sweetest thank you card with notes from all of them. Priceless!
I don't recall any particular thank you that just really stuck, but my dad always thanks me for everything I do....I can just hear him say "thank you dear, you're so sweet" and giving me a side hug. Even if all i did was hang up his shirts or bake some bread....
My favorite design is the vendage. It goes perfectly with the invitations and plans I already have set up.
I am in love with the Sevilla style! I DIY'ed my invitations to save money, but would absolutely love to have the thank you notes to show my guests how much I truely appreciate them being there with me on the big day!
The most fantastic thank you I've ever gotten was a simple, heartfelt note from my mom, thanking me for all I had done for her when she was under-going her treatments for breast cancer. It meant the world because I was working so hard to get to all of her appointments and travel home to help around the house and it came right at a time when she first heard that she was officially in remission. I was so proud of her and to hear that she was so proud of me too was an amazing feeling.
Oh my gosh! I was browsing through through all the designs, enjoying each of them - and then got to "Adirondack." We are getting married in the heart of the Adirondacks - Lake Placid! My dad grew up there and my family has a lake house there. We knew right away that was where we wanted to get married...and this design mirrors the theme of our wedding perfectly. I wish I had seen these for our invitations! I would love to use them as wedding programs or thank you notes. Perfection.
The best thank you note we ever got was from my fiance's cousin. We had to fly cross-country for their wedding and money was tight (and they knew it). My fiance and his cousin are very close, so missing the wedding was not an option. With the travel expenses we could only afford to buy a small gift from their registry - a camping lantern. The thank you note was lovely...they thanked us for coming but also told us a story about how they set up the camping lantern in their living room and built a tent out of sheets because they wanted to enjoy it right away. So cute - and so thoughtful to tell us how they used the gift.
I completely heart the Deveril invitation suite. So simple yet so stunning.
The greatest thank you that I ever received was from a man named Jim. A group of co-workers and I spent a Saturday working on his house (painting, gardening, roofing) as part of a volunteer activity. He was so thankful for the work that we had done. I will never forget the gratitude that he expressed to each and every one of us. He called us his angels.
My favorite design is Canopy - it's so cheerful and casual, like how we want our wedding to be!
The very best thank you I received was from my job. I'm a habitat restoration technician, so I went to a private property to collect red twig dogwood branches for transplanting, as the branches can regrow into new trees. I climbed around for several hours, carefully snipping 200 'livestakes' and bundling them up. When I was finishing up and walking to my truck, the landowner came over. We chatted for a while, and then he smiled, gave me a hug and said, "Thank you for what you're doing. I hope you have a beautiful life."
I love my job.
My favorite is dewdrop! It just makes me so happy to look at.
The best thank you note I have ever received was from my best friend and her fiance after her bridal shower. It was very personal and heartfelt. A handwritten note that is made personal is always the best.
Hands down new calligraphy!! So in love...have been forever! Best thank you I ever got was custom made jewelry as a thank you from a friends.
Mary and sam, Number 3.
Best thank you note said "thanks for getting me". Understanding someone and listening is the best! :)
Thats all I needed to hear from a dear friend!
I love the "Irving" design because it's simplicity is it's most beautiful feature. The white card is gentle and humble, which is the message we want to convey.
I saw a great save the date that I loved. It came to my house but was actually addressed to a tenant who no longer resided in my apartment. It was a postcard on textured paper. On one side there was a barn, on the other side there was information about the wedding that will be held in a barn in upstate NY. It so perfectly represented the theme and set the stage for the rest of the wedding.
I want my invitatons to represent my theme early on too. I'd like to start with these beautiful bella figura invitations -- and winning won't hurt!!! :)
Absolute fave is the deveril - I love the simplicity of the design.
Most memorable thank you note:
I came into work one day to find a thank you note sitting on my desk from a guy who worked on the same floor as me but in different departments. It was his last day and he wrote a note to thank me for the friendly smiles in passing and simple conversations in break room. It was great to know that to someone I barely knew, the little things could be that touching.
I love the string calligraphy =) It's beautiful. The best thank you I ever got was from my best friend before she got married. She hand wrote and MAILED a letter on electric neon green paper (love it!) to me thanking me for supporting her and getting her into planning mode when she did not want to have anything to do with wedding planning.
There was no letterpress stationary. No calligraphy. No vintage stamps. Not even a "perfect" card or design. It was just her letter and it was, by far, the best thank you ever.
MY CHOICES WOULD BE EITHER THE "SPINERETTE" OR THE "JOY". BOTH WOULD GO GREAT WITH OUR FIESTA THEMED WEDDING. OF COURSE I WOULD CHANGE THE COLORS TO RED, ORANGE & YELLOW. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL! THANKS FOR THE CHANCE TO WIN!
THE BEST THANK YOU NOTE I EVER RECIEVED WAS FROM MY BEST FRIEND. IT READ, "THRU THICK & THIN YOU ARE MY ROCK. I THANK GOD EVERYDAY FOR BLESSING ME WITH THE MOST BEAUTIFUL, MOST UNDERSTANDING FRIEND IN THE WORLD."
SHE PRETTY MUCH ROCKS. <3
I think my favourite of all of the designs is definitely Hendrix 3. It's so light, colourful, fresh and fun.
The best thank you I have ever received was following a birth I assisted with. I am a volunteer doula with a group that offers doula services to new immigrants, single mums and young mums. Despite having had a long and exhausting labour, the beautiful new mama took the time to take my hands and look into my eyes. She said "Thank you. It was thanks to you, your encouragement, your touch and your support that I was able to bring my son into this world. We will never forget you." It was all I could do to keep from crying. One of the best days of my life.
My favorite design would have to be the esperanza style invitations ... the bold colors are really striking. Savannah is also totally adorable-- the hint of checkered tablecloth matches perfectly with our pit-BBQ wedding reception :)
The most memorable thank you I’ve ever received was when I was in college-- I was working in retail (at Bath 'n' Body Works) and one of my dad's coworkers (he was working for Burberry at the time) asked me to pick up some really expensive shea butter lotion with my employee discount, and she paid me for it. I gladly helped her out since it was a favor for my dad, and a few days later, this Burberry box appeared at my house with a beautiful cashmere Burberry check scarf and a thank you note in it. Now, I know she probably got it with her discount, but the fact that she even thought to reciprocate was what I thought was so nice. I still have the scarf to this day.
Thanks for having such a great giveaway!
They are all so nice! But I particularly like Joyful Yarrow. Such a unique design!
I can the sweetest thank you's from my dad all the time; he actually texts me, thanking me for being such a good daughter and telling me how proud he is of me. It makes me teary-eyed everytime...
I love love LOVE the Deveril design. It's so timeless and classy. The most thoughtful thank-you card I have ever received is from a friend for the gift I bought her for her wedding. Instead of buying her something off a registry, I hesitantly bought her a nice decoration for her home that read "Love One Another." She took the time to write me a lovely thank-you and told me how much she loved the gift that I hesitantly bought. It was very memorable!
Picking my favorite was quite difficult but if I must it would be Ashwell. Its simple yet full of beauty.
The best thank you I have ever received starts with a trip to Malta my fiancée and I took this past August. (This is where my family comes from). While there we visited a very well known and historical Church called Ta Pinu. Not only did my parents get married here but this church is known for its miracles. People in need, from all over the world, looking for a miracle would visit or send letters asking for their prayers to be answered. Long story short since this church means so much to me I made sure to bring home a keepsake, a rosary bracelet which I placed on my wrist the moment I bought it.
Not much later then 1 week arriving back home we found out our dear friend was diagnosed with a very rare case of Leukemia. With out question I knew then the reason why I brought back home the rosary and passed it on to him. Trying to hold back my tears, I explained the meaning behind where the rosary came from and to keep positive by wearing it on his left hand which is closest to his heart. I also made him promise to wear it in good health and to get better. Just this week, 7 months later, I am so proud to report a miracle! He is finally home recovering from his bone marrow transplant which saved his life. He is doing great! And...still to this very day, wears the rosary on his wrist which is as best as it gets as a thank you for me…
My favorite design is the Adirondack. Prefect for our Northwest wedding!
I think my favorite thank you is snuggles from my dog after I take him for a walk.
All of the designs are beautiful, but I love the grace and movement of Keswick!!
When I was a teenager, I had a part time job working at a clothing store in the mall. It was Boxing Day (for those Americans out there, its like Black Friday Sales, but on Dec 26th) and I was manning the cash register. The lines were huge (for getting in the store and for the checkout!) and understandably people were losing their patients. One customer was especially patient-less and threw a massive fit, was extremely rude to the staff and the customers around her. I kept a smiling face, and tried to help her as best I could. The next customer in line came up to me, took my hand and thanked me for being so patient and kind to all of the customers there, and for not succumbing to the rudeness of the previous customer. She placed some change in my hand, and told me to buy myself a coffee and relax when I was done my shift and to always keep smiling, It was such a pure gesture of kindness that I will never forget. She was thanking me, but I will always be thankful of her.
I love the Avion Design! Those are so cute.
It's sad to say but I haven't ever received a memorable thank you card from any one. Maybe after my wedding I'll be able to be someone else's memorable thank you!
i LOVE the modern minimalistic feel of the UNION design! how the two names become one entity.
the best thank you card i received was from my students after summer camp. one student was particularly misbehaving and not listening to anything i said. he later wrote and told me how much he appreciated me despite his behavior and that he WAS listening to me even though it didn't seem like it from the outside. that made my day and made all the "nagging" worth it!
My favorite is Birch - it's so unique, modern and subtle. Perfect for a fall/winter wedding, which is what my fiance and I are hoping for!
I love thank you notes - I always try to make them personal. The best thank you I have received so far was from my best friend after standing up as a bridesmaid in her wedding. I had planned her bachelorette party, and it was one aspect of the wedding where she completely let go of control and wanted to be completely surprised. While I planned some of the stereotypical bar-hopping activities, I also had everyone over to her house beforehand to relax, get to know each other, eat some good food and drink, which contributed to an overall fun atmosphere where everyone was more comfortable with each other. Afterwards she thanked me and said she was so lucky to have had me planning it and that she was grateful that I was in her life.
I love the RSVP... you can tell the guest the mood of the celebration with you invitation, but also with the way the RSVP are redacted and presented.
Hendrix 3 is so beautiful and romantic.
The best thank you I ever recieved was for helping a student of mine pass his algebra test. I was a tutor, and the mother came to me to help her son with his math courses. When I met with him he was so discouraged and frustrated because his school teachers hadn't given him the basic understanding of numbers and variables. I worked with him for months and we worked together to make sure he had the knowledge and confidence to do well in his class. Finally, at the end of the semester, he took his final algebra test and passed with a B+! He was so excited he made his mom bake me chocolate chip cookies. The cookies were delicious, but the passing test grade and his appreciation were my true thanks.
I love the provenance design best.
I am a medical student who want to be an obstetrician. Last summer, I got to assist in the delivery of a young couple's first baby. The best thank you I ever received was the look in the father's eyes as his saw his first son enter the world. Nothing will ever beat that.
My all time favorite design is the TARA. It definitley matches the same look and feel to our invitations that just went out last week ( Yay! )
I am a huge thank- you note writer! I love to shop for my special bi-yearly thank you notes for the xmas and birthday season. My mother taught me to ALWAYS sent a thank you and it has never been a chore! I even send them to friends who have us over for dinner... what better excuse to send some old fashion thoughtfullness via snailmail?!
My most memorable thank you notes always come from my fiance's grandmother. Every card or note that she sends is typed on a typewriter! Her typing skills are SERIOUSLY impressive and always make us smile. It means alot that she takes the time to not only go out and buy a card, pull out the ol' heavy machine and walk out to the mailbox, but she actually takes pride in the notes she sends. Even more impressively, she does send checks to him sometimes... they are also letter typed. How cute is that??? (and when are we too old to keep getting $20 checks from our grandparents?)
Fingers Crossed!!
I think the Odessa print is perfect for our fall wedding, especially with the mango ink!
I love the lola design!
One of the best thank yous I ever got was a handmade small notebook from an organization I worked with for years in college. Each member of the organization wrote something in there how they were impacted through our time together, it was completely unexpected, affirming, and I often look back at it to keep my spirits up on a bad day!
Classic Calligraphy is elegant and timeless.
The best thank you I received was from my younger brother. I had bought him an IPOD dock as a graduation present from high school so that he could help get motivated to get up for his 8 am classes in college. Any one with a younger brother (age 18) knows that they are not very forth coming with their feelings, so much to my surprise, I received a CD full of songs that reminded him of me. In the hand written card (also a major feat for a teenage boy) he said he listened to these songs when he was a bit homesick and would think of me. It was so special to have these songs as a thank you from him, when I am having a bad day I always play the CD and think of the memories associated with each song and it cheers me up. What a great way to say thank you over and over again!
I love their sailboat design! The best thank you I ever got was a hand written note from one of my former students. That was so meaningful since they wrote it and illustrated it on their own. I teach kindergarten so the note and artwork was priceless, just another reason I love my job!
I love Bordure for its clean simplicity - it matches what I've already picked out for my wedding invitations so well! My second favorite is the more romantic Cannemara. They are all fabulous. My best thank yous are words from the heart, which I find are always the most meaningful and memorable. A genuine handwritten note is forever treasured - I save each one and look back at them often. Rare, but special :)
My favorite designs since I couldn't just pick one are: drewdrops, emile, and evelyn.
The most memorable "thank you's" are the ones I don't expect and are out of the blue. For instance a friend of mine sent me beautiful french-ish themed stationary to thank me but for me to pass on the thanks to many more. She also included freshed baked cookies.
Oh my gosh, I am a HUGE Bella FIgura fan (I have only been engaged three weeks but I'm a paper junkie so I've been stalking letterpress for quite some time!) so this is thrilling to me! It's so hard to choose, but right now I am REALLY feeling the String Calligraphy! It's classic with a twist, just like me!
The best thank you I ever received was probably the simplest, but so meaningful. My dad is not an effusive type, so I didn't grow up hearing a lot of verbal affection from him (don't worry -- he showed how much he cared rather than saying it in words!). Years ago I was at my childhood home digging through my old bedroom, and I found a note that "Santa Claus" had written to me to thank me for the cookies I had left for him on Christmas Eve. It was so simple, as it just said "Ho Ho Ho! Thanks! Love, Santa" but it was so obviously in my dad's handwriting (he didn't even try to disguise it) that I was so touched. I carry it around in my wallet because I smile every time I see it. :)
As a NOLA bride, my favorite has to be the fleur de lys. And my favorite thank you has to be to God for keeping my baby safe during Katrina. THANK YOU!
My favorite design is the Guild eco letterpress. It's absolutely magical and romantic, the exact feel we are going for. My all time favorite thank you not was when I was student teaching. It was my last class and a student of mine wrote the sweetest note telling me how happy she was I was her teacher and thanked for for all the wonderful times we had. It made me feel very accomplished as a teacher.
These are SO GORGEOUS!!! Way too many beautiful invites, but I think the Vendage in a Navy & Green color scheme would go so beautifully...can't wait to see to who receives it!! :)
My favorite design is the Balsam calligrahy. I love the feeling I get when looking at the font - fun yet comfortable, like I took a pen to the invite myself (except this is much prettier)! And my most memorable thank you was a note from one of my best friends after being in her wedding. It was incredibly real, heart-felt, but most of all, sounded just like the way my friend would say it if she were speaking it out loud. Like this thank you was meant for me only, and that's a good feeling.
I love all Bella Figura, but I love love the Modern Calligraphy - classic with a twist of fun.
My most memorable note was also the one I most recently received. I coached a 5-6 year old basketball team for the first time, and one of my little players gave me a handmade note at the end of the season thanking him for teaching him about basketball. Basketball is already close to my heart so the sweet gesture made it even more meaningful that I could share with him.
I LOVE the hendrix 3 collection!
I work for Sanrio (home to Hello Kitty!), a company built on the idea of social communication bu using small gifts to provide big smiles--"small gift, big smile." In my position I deal with a lot of customer complaints and inquiries. The best and sweetest thank you came from a little girl who thanked me for replacing her broken earmuffs. She personally called (with the help of her dad, of course!) to say a big thank you for getting her new earmuffs. The small gift of her thank you sure brought a big smile to my face!
These are absolutely stunning designs. I love so many of them … really beautiful. If I were to pick a favorite it would be the RANGOLI as they exemplify the theme and ambiance of my wedding and truly capture my vision. I am getting married in Sarasota, Florida in October at the Garden Club. My ceremony is taking place out in the flower garden under a tree then the reception is a garden party theme. I want a fun party, not just a wedding – whimsical, playful and floral. I live in Brooklyn so this is a destination for most of my guests. The very best part for me is the colors … purple and orange are my colors! I picked this color scheme as purple is my favorite and I always love it with orange. Further, it is a great offset to the lush green botanical setting – very tropical fun Florida. For me, this color scheme represents the fun vibe I hope my wedding will be. The bridesmaids are wearing purple and the guys are wearing orange ties. This invitation would make my wedding perfectly special!
The best thank-you I have ever received is such a great question as it evokes many happy memories and brings a smile to my day at work. If I were to pick one instance it would be when I found a handbag and wallet in NYC and tracked the woman down via the police and the Chinese embassy (I was living steps from the United Nations building at the time). At the time, I never met the woman/owner although I had heard it was claimed and picked-up. Almost 2 months later I received a package at my apartment building – it contained a Chinese tea set, a money check and a handwritten letter. The letter was long and described how grateful she was to receive such help from a stranger on her first time to NYC/the United States and how my help had allowed her time with her family that lived far away – it was in Chinese and English (two versions!). I never cashed the check. Live by Karma … as when I lost my wallet last year someone was kind enough to turn it into the police as well!
I would actually like to give the Threaded thank you cards to my sister who got engaged this past weekend. I am getting married in 3 months and she has been my ear and my helper throughout it all. She has been deployed and is in the process of moving cross country. She is going to be going to law school this fall so I know her budget will be tight and I can just imagine these would make her day! I would love to give something back to her and maybe this will be her "best thank you" story for someone else later on.
I love the Irving. Its so simple but yet so elegant because there isn't a lot going on on the invitation.
I love the Victoria Calligraphy - the simplicity and elegance is perfect way to thank my guests for being a part of our event. The most memorable thank yous are those that really express appreciate for a thoughtless gesture. A little bit of thought goes a long way.
Ahhh!!! I literally just ordered my save-the-dates from Bella Figura TODAY!! I would be absolutely thrilled to be able to round out the wedding by sending Bella Figura thank you notes :) I chose Mimosa for my save-the-dates, but I really love the Sonoma Calligraphy for potential thank you notes. I am getting married in North Carolina this fall and my scheme is classic green and white.
My favorite thank you notes ever undoubtedly come from my mother. My mom is the thank you note queen. She writes notes for presents, visits, or for no reason at all. Somehow they always catch me off guard and it is so nice to get a note from your mom just saying thanks and that she loves you.
Thanks for the opportunity!!
The Connemara grabbed my eye out of the entire list of options; it's just gorgeous!
I admit that there's a lot of 'wedding' on my mind and it's probably why i'm thinking this but here it goes... I think the most memorable 'thank you' was my fiance's proposal. Of course it was a gesture saying I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, but it was recognition for standing by him for 3 years. We've been together through highschool, college, and the death of loved ones...and nothing says, "I appreciate you, thank you" more than his desire to spend the rest of his life with me.
i like the empire design. and my favorite thank yous are notes that people really took time to write and personalize!
Wow. It's impossible to choose - the are all beautiful! I think I'd say the Hendrix 3 design is my favorite. I don't even know why! It's just so pretty!
My favorite thank you card was the one I received from my boyfriend's mother shortly after we met. I had sent her a framed photo that I took of her with her son/my boyfriend and she sent the sweetest note. I'll always remember it. : )
Alaina
I'm totally digging the New Calligraphy wedding invitation. My fiance and I are doing a divide-and-conquer approach to wedding planning ... which might explain why I am the only guy (as best I can tell) to leave a comment on this post so far. Ha! Bella Figura has some of the best invitations I've seen in my search.
The most memorable "thank you" I ever received was a note my amazing soon-to-be-wife wrote me the day after we got engaged. The details, of course, aren't for public consumption ... but suffice it to say, it was and is the best letter ever written (to me, anyway!)
I work with survivors of sexualised violence and one of my most memorable thank yous was from a client after we had finished our work together, this person sent me a card letting me know how much they had appreciated our time together and how through our work they had new hope in their life. It sticks out for me because of the resiliency and strength that beings have and how so often connection is the path to healing. And even though it was my job to be there for this client, they wanted to give something back.
It's so hard to choose a design but I would have to go with the Balsam calligraphy-it's so whimsical, connected, and fluid, reminds me of waking up from a dream.
Wow--I love the new designs. I just ordered samples from Bella Figura three weeks ago, and now may have to order more! I'm loving Maja...the clean lines and unique pattern with great colors would really pop.
In terms of a favorite thank you, it is the one my grandpa wrote to me and my cousins just before he passed away. It actually wasn't a thank you to us, it was to my grandma for all she did for our family and his way of letting us know how much he loved her, and that we needed to take good care of her for him. It's the most touching love letter I've ever read.
Gorgeous Letterpress!!
The most personal "Thank you" card I received was a DVD with a 5 min recap of the wedding. It was nice to get a reminder of the occasion... in only a couple of min.
www.sparepeare.com
I love Rolling Hills – so simple and pretty and love the look with my Tuscan wedding.
My most memorable thank you was from a good friend who was engaged to her college boyfriend. Some of our friends knew was he cheating on her but no one wanted to confront her as he was probably going to deny it and then she would be livid that we didn’t trust her fiancée. I ended up telling her, deciding that she needed to know even though it was risking our friendship. She broke things off with him and recently got engaged to a wonderful guy who will never even think of cheating on her. When she got engaged, she called me and thanked me for saving her from marrying a jerk when no one else had the courage to do so. She said that I changed her entire life and she couldn’t put into words how grateful she was for that. Now we are bridesmaids in each other's weddings which are happening within a couple months of each other!
Oh, what letterpress perfection! This girl just hearts Bella Figura oh so much. I love most all of the new designs, but I especially "harper" -- love.
I once received a note from a friend thanking me for sharing some kind words with her. I never would have imagined that going out of my way to encourage this friend would make such an impact in her life, at the time.
I am officially in love with the String Calligraphy.
The best thank you note I can get is a big hug. That says more than words ever could :-)
I love the cheerful nature of the Floweret thank you (fold). The colors used matches perfectly with the colors we're using for the wedding.
One of the most memorable Thank You I've ever received came in the form of an unassuming card about 4 months after I had volunteered in New Orleans to clean up after Katrina. Block after blocks of homes were left in ruins. In order to rebuild, the houses had to be gutted. A group of my coworkers and I spent a week there with Habitat for Humanity water damaged walls, possessions, kitchen appliances...everything...what remained of each house when we were done was the frame, roof, and outer walls. The damage was severe and several times we wondered if the family of the house we worked on would actually return to rebuild their life there.
It was, therefore, an awesome surprise when we each received a personal thank you card from one of the families. The card was simple, but the message really made a lasting impression as they wrote of how happy they were to be able to return and as they shared their plans to rebuild home there.
I think the Vignette is so elegant, simple, easy to read, and still allows the name of the bride & groom to be the focus of the piece.
The best "thank-you" that I have ever received was in college. I taught swimming lessons every summer and the best thank you is when you teach a child something and you see their eyes light up when they realize they can float, jump off the diving board, or swim in the deep end. That moment of joy and boost in confidence is more than a thank you; it's a motivation to keep keep doing what you do. :-)
I love the Adirondack design (since we're getting married in the ADKs!)
My favorite thank yous are handmade, hand-drawn, or even just hand-written. It's so much more personal and meaningful to know that someone took the time to show their appreciation.
It is so difficult to choose just one -- there are so many beautiful, unique designs! If forced to choose (right now), I'd probably go with the Carlyle or Victoria calligraphy. I think it's beautiful how the letters and words themselves become art and express a beauty of their own.
The most memorable "thank you" I received was upon my graduation from college. Many of my friends were either younger than I or sticking around to finish a second major. My last night in the dorm (yes, I was a nerd and lived the dorm even though I was a senior!), several of the girls presented me with thank you notes, expressing what I'd meant to them the years we'd known each other. They were very detailed, thoughtful letters, recalling fun, silly, happy, and sad situations we'd all been through together and the feelings and memories all came rushing back. That was 12 years ago and it nearly broke my heart to graduate and move away for graduate school, but I still keep those letters in a letterbox in my living room (and am still in touch with the friends!). I am so thankful for these friends and memories, and can't wait to invite those same girls (and now their families!) to my wedding this Fall!!
All these designs are so beautiful, I don't know how to pick just one! New Calligraphy is possibly one of the coolest things I have ever seen. And I can't get over how adorable Sailboat is with the swirly waves. So cute! Lovebird and Herald are also precious. One of the best Thank You gifts I have ever gotten was from a mom whose baby I watched for her while she went to doctor's appointments. She gave me a gorgeous potted orchid that I still have. Lovely.
I love the Barcelona design - the two sets of banners crossing really gives it a simple but effective 3-dimensionality!
The best thank you I ever received was from my parents, who had written to me a set of heartfelt letters tahnking me for being their daughter. I've kept those letters for 15 years, and every time I bring them out to read again, the emotion wells up as though I was reading them for the first time!
Dear me. If pressed to chose (ha. no pun intended) I would pick Tara.
And my most memorable "thank you" comes from the very first time I was invited to stay at my fiance's parents' house. Silly me, I had completely forgotten to pick up a host gift to thank them for their hospitality, but when I arrived THEY thanked ME for coming by giving me a fantastic basket of organic soaps and lotions! I was ridiculously touched (and hitting myself over the head for forgetting a present). Never forgotten one since.
I love Urbanity AND Tuileries. Don't make me choose one!!
I think the most memorable thank you was from a friend that I was with through her father's illness. It wasn't what she said, or how she said it. But it was clearly genuine and heartfelt. I love her, and am just glad that she wasn't alone during such a difficult time. I treasure the random cupcakes, letters, and our continued friendship.
These invitations are just beautiful! It's hard to pick just one, but I have to say I love the spinnerette design. As for most memorable thank you, it came on the last day of my student teaching experience. The students in my class had gotten together and had a surprise party in class on my last day to say thank you. It had been such a busy and stressful experience it was so nice to see that the students noticed my hard-work and went through all the trouble to surprise me.
WOW! Bella Figura has some beautiful letterpress. My favorite is the Mimosa. I absolutely love the green press. Maybe it is because I have been inundated with green on this lovely St. Patrick's Day.
The most memorable thank you note that I have ever received came from the groom. We traveled to London for the wedding, and it was an amazing event. The groom really wanted to make sure that we knew how much he appreciated us being there to celebrate his and his brides special day. He did thank us for the gift we sent, but more importantly he referenced the time we were able to spend together. The note was thoughtful, funny, sweet, and very personal. I hope that more grooms send thank you notes because we really got to see what their wedding day meant to him.
Bejeweled. hands down. love the art deco look, like earrings.
I'm a public librarian, which sometimes feels like a thankless job- over demanding patrons, rude, hurried.
Once this gentleman came in with a prayer from a newspaper that he was going to type up for his mother. It was very long, and I suggested to him that we'd be able to find it on the internet. And with my savvy tech skills, I was able to locate it, and printed him out a few copies. A few weeks later, and many reference questions later, he delivered a small vase with flowers and a heartfelt thank you card. It was genuine, kind and touching. It was a gentle reminder of why I became a librarian- information, words are power and connecting people to them can change lives.
I love both the spinerette and the balsalm calligraphy! And the dewdrop. And the estrella. And the joyful yarrow. If I don't pick one favorite, does this entry not count? :)
The most thoughtful thank you I ever received was from my friend's wife's little sister. My very good friend asked me if his then girlfriend's (now wife's) little sister could come stay at my apartment for the weekend. I love this friend and his wife so without hesistating agreed to hosting this sister who I had never met. She came and stayed the weekend and was a lovely house guest. I was planning to move to Boston (where she lived) a few months after her stay. Shortly after her visit, she mailed me a guidebook to my new city and a Zagat guide to Boston! What an absolutely thoughtful thank you!
I love the Harlow suite and how it is formal and sweet all at once. It has a look that just makes you want to touch it!
My most memorable thank you was actually from me, not to me. When I graduated from college I sent my most heartfelt thanks to my Grandma, who had so graciously paid for my school. Thanking someone for an education was daunting in the sense that it seemed like such a small gesture however, I took that opportunity to really tell her how much she and her generosity meant to me. This small act is something I will always be grateful for.
I can just imagine how sending out personal handwritten thank you notes to people who have come to our wedding and shared in our love will be equally as impressive.
Gosh it's so hard to pick a favorite, but if I absolutely had to, it would be Bradford - I love how the typography is the star, and provides the contrast and evokes the exact mix of emotions that I love.
The nicest 'thank you' I've received was a handmade card, lovingly made with stamps, some gocco, and lots of care and attention. Beyond the words contained in the card, just imagining the love that went into making the card itself - makes me feel all warm just thinking about it. That's the feeling I'm certain any Bella Figura letterpress card will bring to my guests when they receive our thank you cards!
I have to choose?! There are so many great designs, but I think my favorite is Hendrix 2 by Jessica Hische. The interaction between the type and swirling flowers is beautiful - paired with the nuance of the tiny birds? Perfection.
Now for the best Thank You I've ever received is a tough one because there are so many that have touched my heart. It was exactly a year ago today when we the funeral for my boyfriend's grandfather (his family is part Irish so St. Patty's day was a must). Well I had come over to help with the lunch after the service and the hug his stressed and upset mother gave me let me know how grateful she was for everything I had done that day. Then she even followed that with a note a week later letting me know how much my help and support had meant. I felt so loved and grateful to be a part of their family.
The choice of design for me is a simple one – Sevilla. I recently received my Sevilla wedding invitation suite from Bella Figura and cannot be happier with the outcome. Bella truly made my vision a reality – the invitations are more beautiful than I could have imagined. The icing on the cake would be to have Sevilla letterpress thank you notes to send to each of my guests.
In regards to my favorite thank you, I enjoy mentoring younger colleagues and often times receive words of thanks for my help or guidance. My most memorable thank you recently came via a Friday night email from a fresh-out-of-college first-year associate: “To my #1 team- Thank you for a fabulous experience!! I had a wonderful time while both traveling and at home. It was amazing to have had the opportunity to work with you. Special thanks to wonderful manager and all you’ve taught me in the past couple weeks.” Doesn’t get much better than that :)
I think the plume is just breathtaking! it has the classical leaves look, but they're reinterpreted - completely gorgeous.
The most memorable note I have ever received was from my father when I was 15. He had been sick, and wrote me a secret letter, not thinking he would survive for much longer. He sealed it and put it in his safe where other important files were. After he passed away, the safe stayed locked, because neither my mom nor I knew of the combination. While we were cleaning out his things, I found a small slip of paper with a set of numbers written on it tucked away in a drawer. I waited till my mom when to sleep that night and I took the paper over to the safe, and sure enough, the numbers unlocked it. I expected to find the simple personal documents we all keep safe, and I thought I would go through them so my mother wouldn't have to deal with things. On the top of the pile, was a sealed letter, with his signature on the back and a note that said "For McKenzie." I opened it, and the letter he had written me was a single typed page; it was all of the advice I've ever needed in my life. He asked me to listen to my mother, to stand up for myself in the real world, and to work hard. He told me that he loved me, that I was beautiful and that he would always be there with me. In the 7 years since his passing, I have read the letter hundreds of times, as it sits framed on my desk, and the words I've memorized return time and time again to help give me fatherly advice, in the absence of my father. :)
balsam! balsam! balsam!
my friend kat always sends a snapshot of the recent event she's thanking you for. it adds a extra joy to hear lovely thank yous.
The classic calligraphy makes my heart sing. So clean.
The best way to say 'thank you' for is a hug. No words. Just a nice, warm hug. That makes an impact on me.
Thank you for this great opportunity.
My Favorite design on here is the Savannah, because it goes so well with our Farm Wedding in Atlanta!! And, I am a textile designer and absolutely love the use of pattern, and the delicate way in which it was applied!
My most memorable thank you note/ gesture was actually a note from my Dad when I graduated college. It was so sweet the way my dad said put into words how proud he was of me, and it was bittersweet for me because I was moving out of state right after I graduated. I will always remember that handwritten note from him that meant so much to both of us.
I hope that my thank you notes for our wedding are just as special and lovely as that!
I love the Modern Calligraphy. It's so simple and lovely.
My most memorable thank you was from a good friend who was married recently. She remembered songs from her bachelorette, and sent a CD with them to the girls that attended. It was really thoughtful and great memories of a fun night.
But oh. I just read PAM's best thank you. Wow.
It was SO hard to choose a favourite because EVERYTHING is wonderful, but I'd probably have to go with the Deveril. It's absolutely beautiful!
As for my most memorable Thank You:
One day I was complaining to my mom about one of my best friends. How she was ALWAYS so negative around me and constantly complained about (what seemed like) everything. I felt like I had been her punching bag for such a long time and I was fed up with it (and at the time I felt, with her.)
The next day I met up with her and she handed me a note telling me how thankful she is for having me in her life. Thanking me for always listening to her and being patient with her, and for being the sister she never had. I couldn’t believe how badly I talked about her behind her back – to a friend who I know loves me so much, and genuinely. Now every time I’m tempted to think bad thoughts about my friends, I try to remember her note and remind myself that love withstands almost anything <3
i love boutique! the most memorable thank you note i got was from my mom. she sent me a good luck/ thank you for being her daughter note when i moved away to college. she scribbled on the back of some scratch paper that had a photocopy of my grandparents' passport pictures. she said it was appropriate because she knows my g-parents would be proud of me too. she stuffed it in my packed boxes. secret surprises. handwritten.
I adore the Evelyn & Keswick designs! They are beautiful!
When I was 15 years old my father had an affair. At a time when most young teenagers began to rebel and make their own paths in the world I made the decision to stand by my mother. She was a wreck and she really needed me to help her get through everything. We became the best of friends. We would go out for pedicures, go shopping, spend nights at home with chinese food and a good tv show and go out to the movies. On one occasion we weren't satisfied with our first movie so we turned around and went to a second in the same day! Loading ourselves up with more snacks, gummi bears and popcorn. She became the single most important person in my life over the years. For her 50th birthday party my older sister and I decided to thank her and threw her a huge surprise day! We picked her up in a limo with her 10 closest friends, took her to dinner and out for dancing, and then ended the night at a local bar where 100 of her friends were waiting. It was a fabulous night and she cried multiple times telling us how much she loved us.
After the night was over we all went home and spent the rest of the weekend recovering from an intense evening with friends an family. On monday morning I opened my mailbox and what greeted me was a pretty pink envelope. Inside was a thank you from my mother filled with admiration, joy and words of encouragement, thanks and love. I hold it close to my heart and it always brings me a smile to see it pressed in the pages of my favorite journal. My mom is my rock and the person I will always stand next to.
I love the Barcelona design- so beautiful!
My most memorable thank you came from a student of mine. I work as a teaching assistant at a university. I had one student who struggled with the readings and assignments but worked really hard. She was on the verge of failing but I kept encouraging her. After the final she handed me a card and said thank you. In the card she wrote how hard the class was and how she wasn't sure she would pass but that she was grateful for my help because she learned a lot. She ended up doing well on the final and passed the class. Sometimes students blow you off and don't care about the class or don't try so it really meant a lot to me to get that thank you and also that she passed!
My all time favorite bella figura design is New Calligraphy......from the moment I saw this invitation, I was in love. I am continuously smitten with how beautiful and unexpected it is, which leads me to my most memorable thank-you note because it was not just one instance, but thousands of instances by the same person. My mom has always thanked me for who I am as a person and the love we share as family. Every note she has ever written me is cherished and saved in a box. (Literally....I started collecting them when I was in early elementary school). She has always written very large and diagonally, just like the New Calligraphy invitation, so of course it's my favorite because it gives an entirely special and layered meaning to the traditional 'Mr and Mrs Parent of the Bride invite you to their daughters wedding' because it really is how she writes!
These are so gorgeous!!! My favourite is the one with the yellow circles/flowers. Beautiful!
I love the Somersby design!
My most memorable thank you is from my fiance. We were having a 'big relationship talk' one night, and at the end, he hugged me, and whispered "Thank you for loving me," in my ear.
Lovely stuff, I've been a fan of their work for some time! My favorite is the dewdrop!
The sweetest thank you card I ever got was from the five year old daughter of a teacher in college. She was sick, so had to attend our class while her mom was teaching. She was a sweet thing, and slightly mischevious. Her mom kept warning her to keep still, so when she spilled a bag full of peanut M+Ms on her desk, I discreetly helped her so her mom wouldn't notice! Then, we chatted afterwards and I told her mom what a sweetie she was. Apparently, I made such an impression (Ha!) that she named ALL of her stuffed animals "Marissa" after me. So I made her a beaded bracelet with her name on it. To thank me, she handwrote me a card in green crayon, all by herself with no prompting. = SWEETEST THANK YOU EVER :) Thanks for the opportunity! Great prize :)
P.S. Please pick P.A.M.'s. That's the most loving and tear jerking letter ever!
Love them all!!!
I big-time heart the Bejeweled style. Loooove! The best thank you I've received was a care package of inside-joke goodies from my faraway best friend, saying thank you for the years of friendship and love.
Antoinette would definitely fit the style of my wedding the best. It's delicate and whimsical yet evokes a sense of movement.
Um, yeah I've got to agree with some of the other people on here and say that Pam's letter takes the cake.
How exciting! We just ordered Sylvan invites :) We tried to save money though and ordered just invites, so winning the Thank You cards would be great! Bella Figura makes beautiful products.
Once I lent a dog crate to a friend and she returned it with a plate a brownies. It was such a surprise and a sweet gesture, it was easily my most memorable thank you.
My favorite is the Ville-Marie. I love the simplicity of the design - it really lets the texture of the letterpress come out! Would be perfect for a fall wedding.
My most memorable gesture came a few years ago. I had been mentoring a new female analyst at work for a few months and must have mentioned to her in passing that I was training for a half marathon. When I crossed the finish line a few months later, I looked around to find my friends, but instead saw my mentee, standing at the finish line by herself, holding a giant, beautifully decorated, handmade sign that said "Go, Anne, Go. Best Mentor Ever." So simple, but so sweet and completely unexpected. The sign still stands in my room at home.
I love Promenade! Gorgeous design! All of them were beautiful!
I am a first grade teacher at a low income school with a high spanish speaking population. I had a student who struggled in school but he made great progress throughout the year. His mom rarely spoke to me because she was shy about her English, but on the last day of school, she nervously came up to me, hugged me, gave me an envelope, and told me "Thank you". I didn't open it until I got home , but she had wrote me a letter, told me how much I've changed her son's life, and gave me a folded $20 bill. This spoke volumes to me because I know how much they struggled with money. I felt bad taking it, but she insisted. I was very humbled by her kind gesture.
i just looove the designs from bella figura. 'paradise' fits perfectly into my wedding colors, but i am swooning over the designs of the others- including tennyson and barcelona. tennyson is gorgeous as well! ahh, somebody stop me!
i think the most memorable thank you's are the ones that clearly have thought and passion put into them. so many people plow through their thank you notes, or say it because they "should", but a little more goes a long way.
thank YOU for this opportunity!
So beautiful...My favorite is Ollie. I love the detail and the ticking makes it look like a quilt. For a thank you note, I would do flat cards because then the recipient can hang it somewhere and immediately see what you wrote.
I am fortunate to receive many thank you notes at work. My job is to make children with life-threatening medical conditions happy for just one day and help them forget about their illness and do something fun for a change. Since I work with 300+ kids per year, and it's my job, you can sometimes get caught up in the details. With any nonprofit there is way more work to be done than people to do it. When I get a thank you note from a child or their parents, it motivates me to keep working hard. It's an amazing job and so inspiring to know the positive impact you can make on each child during a very difficult time in their lives.
I am completely in love with Bella Figura and all the styles and designs. I am particularly in love with the "evelyn" collection as it's something a bit different and elegant but a bit of fun and excitement!
Thank you so much for a lovely give away and gift!
The most memorable and precious thank you was from one of my best friends. She is absolutely touching with her words and just has the most amazing heart. She truly makes one treasure and appreciate a real best friend.
The wedding process makes one realize and highlight those who mean the world to us! Family and friends....
i just looove the design of paradise- the colors fit my wedding palette perfectly! there are so many other amazing designs though-- new calligraphy is stunning, as are tennyson and barcelona.
i think the most memorable thank you's are the ones that have thought and passion put into them. so many people plow through the notes or say thanks because they "should", but the ones that are meaningful show through.
thank YOU for this wonderful opportunity!
I love New Calligraphy! Its classic wedding style turned (just a bit) on its ear.
I am a dance teacher. I have a student who is cripplingly shy and literally never says a word. I had no idea whether she was enjoying class due to her difficulty being around all of the other children. At recital, her mother thanked me profusely for being the light of her daughter's week. She said each week she would come home and re-teach the class word-for-word to her dolls. These moments remind me what a privilege it is to do my job.
There are so many wonderful designs it is almost impossible to choose just one! I absolutely adore the the "new calligraphy" style. It is timeless, modern, and still fun.
My fiance and I got engaged on our trip to Maine this past summer. When we returned home we were absolutely ecstatic, and could not imagine ever being happier. To my surprise there was a letter in our mailbox from my oldest sister, who has Downs Syndrome. She had written me the nicest card that read "Dear Callie, you will be a beautiful bride. I love you." It was absolutely the nicest, unexpected card I had ever received. Now just 165 days until our wedding, and Stephanie's note still sits above our computer. During times of stress, it truly helps to have a reminder to remember why we are working so hard. I just hope that I really will be that beautiful bride that Stephanie thinks I will be.
How awesome is this website!! I absolutely love all the invitations, but the one I like best is LOLA. We are getting married in July, and it's exactly what I'm looking for to use for our summer floral wedding!
The most memorable thank you I've ever received was from my Great Aunt Marie. We always had a special bond, and her death in 2009 was very difficult for me to deal with. A few weeks after the funeral, my dad called and told me that Marie had left me a note in her will. Shocked, I opened the note to find a letter from her thanking me for always being there for her, and about how special I was to her. She even included a little bit of money from her estate! It was by far the nicest thank you note I have ever received :-)
What a wonderful contest! I adore the Vendage Style, so delicate, so vintage, and I'm a sucker for a bird in silouette!
The best thank-you I've ever recieved? From my future mother in law thanking me for being a wonderful influence in her sons life. It was the most touching & genuine note I've ever recieved!
Birch is truly the design favorite! We receive many handwritten thank you's from all the kiddo's that read to me, I am a
good listener! WOOF
Tail Wags to All.
~moose
Classic calligraphy! I think the trend and sentiment now is modern but if I were to receive a Classic calligrpahy invite, I think I'd just go WOW and it would take my breath away for a second.
My most memorable thank you is a letter my friend wrote me a few years out of junior high, thanking me for being her friend, saying she didn't know how I was still her friend when she went out with a guy that I liked (ah, youth) and congratulating me for coming top in school (when I knew she was usually the best student). More than a decade later, we're still best of friends and she had a beautiful little girl and made me Godma. When I think abt all the things that we have done for each other, I think part of the thanks is the really endurance and gift of a solid time and emotion-tested friendship.
I wanted to tell the story of the best thanks ever- it's from our Thai cook in the college dorm, Toi, whom my roommates and I befriended. Her husband John, was very sick and constantly in hospital and Toi worked overtime to help keep the bills down while wondering what she wld do with herself when she was eventually, alone. John had been a GI in the Far East and met Toi there as a friend of her dad's. Despite their huge age difference and objection from both their children and families, they married and she followed him out to the US to re-learn her life and language. My roommates and I took turns shuttling John to the VA hospital and he was such a gentle soul- talking to him was like having a grandfather that I never had. Once, wheelchaired, thin and with his eyes in patches following a surgery, he said to me, Boy but I wish I looked better to ride in this beautiful car! (I used to drive a yellow Mustang)
After he passed, his funeral included hundreds of students who'd met him everyday while he waited, in our dorm carpark, for Toi to finish work. Toi got a call from the bank telling her about a safe deposit box that she hadn't known about and in it, she found a stash of money and a note that said, Honey, I love you. She told me that she had asked before what happened to his service pension and he'd told her he'd spent it long ago. Even the bank assistants were crying! He told her to give me his family cheesecake recipe that she used to make this southern cheesecake that he'd seen I loved. Mostly 20 year olds are still pretty rebellious but I tell you, I sat at the kitchen counter and cried my eyes out for the two of them.
For those of us getting married, I hope you'll remember to think about what the wedding accoutriments are supposed to represent and although love may not come in the form you expect and it sure don't come easy, I have always hoped that I would find and I wish you all, that kind of love.
I have got one word. Bradford. Need I say more?
I had a hard time choosing between the Tara and the Cameo! I love both, but I think the Cameo wins!! So chic!!
I receive the sweetest gestures of gratitude from none other than my sweet little adopted beagle! I found my pup at a rescue a few years ago, and her big brown eyes just called me in. She had a lot of issues--heart worms, neglect, and severe trauma from her prior abusive owners. She was scared of her own tail wagging! If you're familiar with beagles, you know they like to bark, bay, and everything in between, but not this one. She was beaten silent. Her story broke my heart, and every day since I took her in, she's shown me the most loving loyalty and gratitude imaginable. Over the years, she's become much more confident, and the day when she barked at a squirrel intruder in our backyard for the first time, I was so proud! That was the best thank you she could have given me!
I really tried but at the end I'm totally torn between Empire & Sevilla, which are somewhat similar anyway and both coordinate well with my current plan for my DIY invites :)
A few years ago I walked into a shelter with my sister who was looking to adopt a cat, and fell in love with this tiny little kitten who was literally flopping around the floor. After finding out that she was born with a neurological disorder that severely limits her mobility, there was no way I could leave without her. Having worried that she would never get adopted in a shelter full of perfectly healthy cats, the shelter worker profusely thanked me for adopting her. I'll always remember that because it only took a few days at home with my new cat for me to realize that it was ME who should've thanked her for bringing her into my life, as she is the most amazing creature and my absolute soulmate (other than my FI of course. LOL).
I like the Ollie design.
This may sound simple, but I thought it was such a nice gesture. I had to take a student to the hospital one night, because she was having severe eye issues, and we ended up spending about 5 hours together, traversing from one emergency room to another before we found someone who could finally figure out that she had a small tear on her eye that just needed some ointment. The next day, in appreciation, she comes to my room and says thank you in person, leaving me with some smarties (the candy) and a card that read "thank you for being such a smarty!" That made my day.
I absolutely love the Classic Calligraphy, I love the traditional style!
As to my most memorable thank you, I would have to say it was from my fiance as he proposed to me, thanking me for always being there for him and then asking me to be with him forever. It was the best moment of my life to date!
My favorite is Deveril
The most memorable thank you gesture I ever received was a note I received several years ago from the man I'm marrying later this year. At the time, I was working a busy fulltime job and had just started an accelerated graduate program. My life was very, very busy and felt a bit out of control. Here is what he wrote (on a letterpress card, no less!) after thanking me for our relationship : "My goal is to make the time we spend together, as short as it may be during the week, a rich and loving as possible. It will be an oasis in which to refresh your spirit." What a great guy, and what a wonderful thank you!
My favourite design is Vignette - the scrollwork is gorgeous, intricate, delicate, but not overwhelming.
The best "thank you" gesture I ever received was from my father. We had been estranged for a while even while we lived together, as he was with his girlfriend and their children, and he made several mistakes, covered them up with pride, and treated me like an outsider to his family, not his daughter. He made mistakes, and in my bitterness, I made mine. We repaired our relationship slowly after I moved back to the US to live with my mother. Over the years, he offered to help me out financially and in other ways, but I had gotten so used to being without him that a mixture of pride and reluctance to burden him prevented me from accepting his help. It wasn't until I began planning the wedding that he seriously began to push and pursue our father-daughter relationship. In the 6 months since the wedding, we've experienced financial difficulties, and I had to swallow my pride and ask for his help. He responded graciously, and when I thanked him, he responded in turn by telling me to remember that I am his "only daughter, and will always Daddy's little girl," as well as thanking me for continuing to love him despite the mistakes he'd made throughout our relationship. This, more than anything else, lets me know that he is a changed man and that I can allow myself to be loved and be vulnerable with him.
I adore the bold colors and pattern of anthology.
My most memorable thank you was from my youngest son. After spending a night wide-awake trying to keep him comfortable post-tonsils removal, he tried so hard to tell me he loved me and thank you the next morning. Unfortunately he had no voice. He did however, save a week's allowance & take me out for ice cream once he was feeling better. The sweetest gesture ever!!
I love the Barcelona style letterpress - what amazing details! We're trying a very DIY wedding, so sometimes I fantasize about the details we could do if we only had the funds. But I have hope that we'll create some unique (and cheap!) details of our own. This design is incredible and I love the feel of summer and party and fun it gives off. All while being simple and beautiful.
I don't know if it counts as a Thank You per se but I received a note from my mail man telling me I had to pick up a package at the post office that didn't have enough postage to make it to the house. When I got there, there was a buoy waiting for me. Yes, like the floaty things that hold up nets. My fiance was in Alaska at the time, fishing. He'd sent a letter wrapped up inside the hole, thanking me for being patient with him while being away. It was the most original and random thing I'd ever received in the mail.
ESPERANZA! The vibrant colors combined with the delicate lettering make my heart go pitter-patter. I know I'd be over the moon with excitement if I could use these as my own wedding thank yous.
I am a 3rd grade teacher so as you can imagine I receive many little 'treasures' from my clan of 30 kiddos. But my most memorable thank you thus far came from an adorable and dare I say favorite student of mine. I'm not sure if it's because he's one of the biggest cut-ups in my class or just the fact that he's so darn cute that made this so memorable... nonetheless, when he waltzed into class one morning with a carefully folded piece of paper I just about melted to see carefully sketched & colored portrait of Miss O'Neill (myself) with the words "Thanks for being the Worlds Greatest Teacher" written in cursive across the top. Of course, this is still proudly displayed on my fridge :)
LoVE Guild!!
Most memorable thank you... just the other day my good friend had a housewarming party. My fiance and I stayed a little after everyone to help clean up, We were having such a great time I didn't think anything of it, we just chatted while we cleaned. A few days later I received a thank you card in the mail telling me how much he appreciated us staying to help him out, I hadn't even thought we were doing him a favor! Sometimes we don't realize the help we're giving. :)
Oh my goodness it is so hard to choose....They are ALL so beautiful. My 2 favorites are Nautilus and Spinnerette. After college I spent 5 years helping the young ladies from my college sorority. The girls bought a book about friendship and each one wrote a thank you note in it. I still have that "thank you book" 15 years later. It meant a lot to me that these young ladies knew my dedication and commitment to them.
I can't decide between Majorca and Iconic MM. I love both!
My most memorable thank you was my last day as student supervisor at my college job. I supervised a team of 10 students, and on my last day they threw me a party. We had picture taking, lots of laughs, and of course cake (and leis because that's how we roll in Hawaii, haha)! But that wasn't the most memorable part. The most memorable part of the day was when the students presented me a handmade thank you "booklet". The booklet was made from various forms from the office, and the students decorated each decorated a page to represent their own unique style filled with words I'll cherish forever. I still have this booklet and take it out every now and then. It makes me smile.
My absolute favorite is Printemps.
as for my most memorable thank you... I knitted my dad a scarf once and he wore it every day all winter long, and would show it off to everyone, saying that his daughter made it for him. It was so cute and touching!!
String Calligraphy is my favorite of the day! I honestly like mostly all of the designs ^_^
The most memorable "thank you" came in the from my 10 year old patient who was hospitalized due to complications of her leukemia. As her new Pediatrician, I was unsure of how she would initially react to me. She had become very guarded and slow to warm as she had experienced and formed much distrust/fear of the hospital. Each morning, she would lay in bed and cover her head when I would come to examine her. But, as the days passed on, and with each soft "Good Morning" I would whisper, I could feel that she was beginning to open up to me. She was hospitalized for many weeks and on the last day, she wrote a "thank-you" poem for me. Now, each time she is in the hospital, I look forward to her sharing her poetry with me :)
oh my gosh! I am dying right now. These letterpress designs are beautiful! Looking at their website I changed my mind about a dozen times regarding which was my favorite. I have to say I love BARCELONA so much..maybe in part because that city brings so many wonderful memories to mind!
My sweetest thank you was when I returned a woman's wallet. She was so grateful and wanted to give me something but I wouldn't accept. The next day I found flowers on my doorstep with a note that said "Have a beautiful day. You are appreciated" It was so nice!
I love the Mimosa design! It goes well with my wedding outdoors. I would have the colors in pink or orange.
The most memorable note I received was from my nephew. He had just learned how to write the alphabet in school, and he wrote one for me saying "I love you".
Thanks for having this giveaway!
What a hard choice but I love the Silhouette or Plume most.
My most memorable thank you was from one of my best friends in a handmade card she made me to thank me for serving as her maid of honor. It was a beautiful card reminiscing about our history and told not only of my contributions to her wedding, but the best parts of our friendship.
Tasha is beautiful and elegant and classic, with just the right amount of oomph!
My most memorable thank you note was from my fiance's grandfather. We took a trip to China and since the weather dropped to below freezing, I lent him some of my shawls and scarves to keep him warm. He sent me a thank you note with a photo of him wearing the scarf I lent him.
My favorite is the Cotillion design. I like everything about it! My outdoor and slightly antique/ whimsical wedding would love to have this design!
My most memorable thank you was a letter I received from a high school student. I had substitute taught middle schoolers one year while going to college. I didn't even remember the event, as I saw a multitude of kids that year, but one student wrote to me about something I said. I said, "If you won't remember it in 5 or 10 years, let it slide". She said that was the best advice and she keeps still uses it, and says it on a daily basis. It was awesome to think I made an impact in her life!
My favorite is the Tennyson design. I like the sweetness of it. The best thank you I can remember came last week when my mother thanked ME for joining her in Charleston to go to my wedding related meetings. As if I was the one doing her the favor... she was the one who gave up her entire weekend to come with me to the meetings. She said that she just enjoyed spending time with me. She is the best.
I love the Walden. The simple design, the charming vintage illustrations, it's just lovely!
As for the thank you, every year this absolutely wonderful woman I know sends me a Thank you note after Christmas. She's 79 (she's an artist) and her cards are always handmade and her handwriting is oh-so lovely. I don't know I can pick one over the others but every year I look forward to receiving her thoughtful and beautiful note.
My favorite design is Esperanza. (It took me lots of time to choose just one!)
After my grandpa's 80th birthday party, he wrote each of his children and grandchildren thank you notes as usual. These thank you notes were memorable because each letter was very long, telling us what he appreciated about us, favorite memories with us and how each of us has been a blessing to him. You could tell that he spent a lot of time and thought into writing the thank you. When I read his thank you to me, I felt so special! It was such a genuine and loving letter. Whenever I write thank you's, I always try to carry that same thoughtfulness in my notes. Of course, sending a thank you on beautiful stationery gives that message too!
How to choose? They are all so beautiful and there are so many varieties of style whether you are going for classic, elegant, modern...
Favorite of the moment: Wisteria
Favorite Thank You notes: Comes from my Finance. We have a running book going that everytime we think of something he love about one another we write it in the book, which then becomes a "thank you for being you" type moment. Everytime I read our book, it makes me smile and so thankful to have him in my life. The ony thing I don't like about the book is that he has better handwritting than me!
Such beautiful work, after some tough decision making, for me it has to be Harlow a perfect mix of modern and vintage and I love me a trellis design :)
For me one of the nicest thank you's I've ever recieved is from a colleague. He was going with his family on holiday to my hometown (5k miles away) and I offered to give him some suggestions on things to do and places to go while they were there. As a thank you, he shipped me a box of things from home that I can't buy here that he had rememberd me talking about (from a discussion many months before)! It was such a sweet thought.
My favorite is the Alpine design! It would be perfect for our outdoor Colorado mountain wedding.
The most memorable thank you note I have received has come from my fiance. He loves to send me thank you note, holiday cards, etc signed by my puppy! He seems to use her as a medium for expressing how he feels in writing. I have kept each card and look back at them frequently!
I am in love with the sailboat! It is the perfect mix of casual and elegant we are going for in our wedding on the water this summer in Nova Scotia.
The nicest thank you I ever received was from the parents of a 12 year old girl I coached in soccer that said I helped give her confidence and that they noticed a difference in her soccer skills but more importantly her confidence in school and social interactions. Being a 12 year old girl is not easy and hearing someone say I was a positive role model in their childs life was amazing!
i love canopy!!
my most memorable thank you was one that i gave. to my 2nd grade teacher. when i was 27 years old. i wrote to her, 27 reasons why i was thanking her, and 27 new things that had happened to me since the last time i had see her. she totaly influenced my lie and made me a little bit of who i am today and *i* was the one who wanted to say thank you. it was definitely the most involved thank you i'd ever written but i enjoyed it immesnely.
I love the simple elegance of the deveril!
My most memorable thank you happened recently. I spent a year and a half typing up all the letters of war my soon-to-be father in law had in his possession from his fathers time overseas. I put them into a blurb book and presented them to him on his 60th birthday. He is a very quiet man and very reserved. He got up from his seat, came across the room and hugged me. It meant a lot to me that I could break down that wall.
Holy cow - what an amazing giveaway. I love Bella Figura! I think I am digging Mimosa most this morning.
The most incredible thank you I have ever received was from a dear friend who simply thanked me for my friendship.
I love the Tennyson invitations... so pretty! And I also love the Calligraphy available at Bella Figura... Patricia Mumau is one of my favourites!
I once received a thank you in the form of a box of Honey Nut Cheerios.. my favourite cereal. Thoughtful and delicious!
How can I choose just one? Such beautiful invitations! I guess Fontaine or Bejeweled are my favorites.
My friends recently moved back from Morocco and gave, as a thank you gift, some neat, little note cards each with one of their favorite photos of Morocco on it. They are unique & useful!--great idea.
I love the Somersby design, so simple yet so beautiful.
One of the most memorable thank you's I have ever received was from my best friend during her wedding celebration. She gave me a lovely candleabra and snuffer set, but it was really the words she wrote on the card - thanking me not only for being there for her during such a special time, but for the friendship over the past 10 years (at that time!) I'm so looking forward to the note I get to write her, thanking her for being my MOH as well as for being such an important part of my life over the past 15 years now!!
I love the Joy suite - so bright and graphic!
My father is a man of few words, often preferring to sit back and let the constant chatter of his wife and two daughters dominate. He's not demonstrative or outwardly affectionate; I've never been considered Daddy's little girl. But without fail, every Valentine's day, he buys me a bouquet of flowers with the note "Thank you for being a wonderful daughter." This means more to me every year than anything else.
I love Joy!! How beautiful and perfect for me and my personality. My most memorable thank you was for throwing a girl friend of mine a surprise wedding shower. Two of her wedding showers had been canceled because of a death in the family, and she was very saddened and stressed out about the entire situation...not something you want to feel right before you get married!! So I helped throw her a surprise shower (we didn't want her to plan or worry or do anything but show up and enjoy). She was so thankful and truly appreciative of not only the shower but of us making a stressful and sad situation so happy and joyful for her.
I love the Ollie suite -- particularly the colors. It suits our old bed and breakfast-themed wedding.
Growing up, my little sister was nothing but trouble. She was in and out of schools, cut herself, ran away; you name a problem an adolescent girl might have, she had it. A lot of the responsibility of taking care of her fell on me. My mom was ill and my parents divorced. So, I was the one who drove her to therapists, dance lessons, tutors. I was the one who drove her back and forth between our parents houses -- picking up dropped socks out of her overnight bag, counting out her medicines and drying her abundant tears. And through it all, she tortured me, as only a sister can. She would jump on my bed as I was on the phone with boys. She would steal my favorite dress. I hated it, but loved her. On the morning of my high school graduation, she snuck into my room early and placed a medium-sized wooden chest on my bed. Inside was a carefully constructed college survival kit and a handmade thank you note. The note thanked me for her survival. For always remembering her. For sharing my clothes, my car, and my time. She brought up specific instances where I came to her rescue and remembered I was never thanked. The chest, and the letter, sit prominently in my apartment. My sister, my maid of honor, deserves a special thank you.
Oh boy do I love Linnea -- the flowers and casual type are beautiful.
The most memorable thank you I received was from a mother after I spent the Summer coaching her 8 year old son on a baseball team in the city. To be honest her son was a nightmare, while he was our star player he was a terrible teammate, took up half my time and always distracted the other kids by starting fights and making messes. It therefore came as a bit of a suprise when his mother took the time to write me a letter and gave me a little bracelet with the words "I CARE" on them at the end of the summer. She explained that as a single mom living on welfare this (free) summer program was a godsend for her because her son loved it so much and was occupied with a productive activity all summer long. She thanked me particularly for how much his behavior at home had improved since he started on our team. It meant so much and reminded me why I took the job in the first place. Sometimes a letter is all it takes.
I LOVE the DEWDROP. It beautiful, elegant and fun.
FOr my 30th birthda last month, my mother sent me the most wonderful email. She isn't the most tech-saavy person so an email in itself was an accomplishment for her. In her message she detailed all the moments in my growing up that touched her. She made a connection between things that happened when I was a girl to my personality traits as an adult. Like, getting my first, red tricycle adn riding it naked in our back yard. She said that it was the birth of my love of travel and adventure. I am not a flight attendant.
She talked about a picture she has of me at age 18months. I'm reading a giant book of Mother Goose Nursrey Rhyms...upside down. CLASSIC! I am now an avid reader and published poet. That, she says, was the birth of my love of language.
She summed up her email bby thanking me for choosing her to be my mother. I was floored. Humbled. Here I am thinking that it was she who was teaching and blessing and loving me...and she was growing and learning right along with me.
My mother's email brought me to tears. I have such a better understanding of the love a mother has for her children. With my impedning wedding, I'm now eager to have a baby...a family.
My mom is the greatest and her email will be printed and pressed between the pages of one of my precious journals.
Crystal M.
Ypsilanti, MI.
uhhh...that's "I am NOW a flight attendant".
My favorite design is Barcelona. It is sophisticated and playful at the same time. It would be the perfect thank you card to send to guests, saying "Woo hoo! We're married. What a great feeling. Thank you for making us feel special and loved on our wedding day. We love you."
The most memorable thank you I've received was from my fiance Jim's mother, Susan - my future mother-in-law. My mother and I are not as close as we used to be; Susan has stepped in and has been hugely important to me in the wedding planning process. She has been there for me during some very important milestones, including the day I found my wedding gown. I invited her to meet me at the bridal boutique. She showed up with a beautiful bouquet of flowers with a small card attached to it, saying: "Thank you for choosing me to be part of this day. I am so lucky to have you in my life and Jim's life." I still have that little thank you card; it's in my wedding box where I keep all the trinkets I've collected over the past year of our engagement.
Thank you for the chance to win!
My favorite is the Esperanza. One of my most memorable thank you notes was from one of my good friends after being a bridesmaid in her wedding. She knows that I would not have cared if she sent me a thank you note, but she did anyway and I really appreciated her kind words.
Boutique is the design that keeps popping out at me. It's just beautiful. I could stare at it for quite a while and would love to run my fingers through the pressed design.
My most memorable thank you was from my fiance. I recently planned my brother's wedding (for free) and although i received a lot of thank you's from the family including the bride and groom, the best one was from my fiance who gave me a small gift to open "for all of your hard work" he told me; at the end of the evening. Inside my small gift was my own sparkly engagement ring! I like "thank you's" that come with sparkly rings and handsome fiance's!
The "union" design is my favorite. Simple, organic, us.
My favorite Thank You was recently given to me by my fiance. We celebrated our two year anniversary and what a wonderful day it was :-) I was given a used paper sack filled with different momentos from our love journey: a) St Patrick's Day glasses - representing the day we met b) a jar of crunchy peanut butter - an inside joke that will always be cherished c) cookies and cream ice cream - this yumminess prompted our first conversation and d) golf balls - representing our first date at the driving range. He then handed me a written note that said: "I love you to laugh with you, and look at you, and hold your hand. You crack me up, you help me out, you make me better. I'm crazy in love with you and insanely thankful that you're part of me."
I can't think of a better Thank You than this.
how can you only pick one? Their stuff is amazing!
But since I have to.. I'd have to go with the string calligraphy design. Its fun but elegant all at the same time!
My favorite thank you note was one given to me by my nephew when he was 2. It was for his birthday present and he "wrote' it himself, lots of fun colored scribbles on the paper. In neat writing below my sister, his mother, wrote "Thank You." It was so cute and sweet.
I love the harlow design. The most memorable thank you I've ever received was a tiny bottle of my favorite rum from a co-worker for whom I had done a complicated assignment in a very short amount of time. When he initally asked me to do it, my response was something along the lines of "i'm totally going to need a drink after this." When I came in the next morning, there was a little box with the rum and a great note.
I love the Deveril design! Totally the style for our wedding too!
My favorite thank you is one that only I know about. My grandmother thanked me a few days before she died. They were the last words she actually spoke to anyone she said "You've come so far, I love you, Thank you."
I love the "string calligraphy" design. But that was tough, I think I just spent about 20 minutes looking at all of them!
The most memorable thank you I have ever received was from my friend Amber the night before her wedding. At her rehearsal dinner she gave me and the other bridesmaids a different candle that in some way represented what we meant to her. She had a little speech for each of us, and told us how much we meant to her. It was really, really sweet, and I loved that she did a little something different for each one of us. Definitely the best thank you I have ever received!
The Harper is one of my favorites, the design and the texture of the letterpress is to die for! It reminds me a bit of the seersucker fabric we are incorporating into our big day.
The most memorable thank you I have received was a hand written letter from my grandmother for a bouquet of flowers I brought her the day she moved into an assisted living home. At the time we knew she could no longer care for herself but we didn't realize how quickly her Alzheimer's was progressing and that we wouldn't have much time with her. It is the last note she sent me before her memory went and I cherish it.
I was thinking of the most memorable thank you's I've received and I guess I can't seem to get out of the wedding mode because the one that came to mind were related to weddings. The best thank yous are when you realize that they are so genuine and that what you were being thanked for was so meaningful to the person. I had someone drop out of my wedding party and asked my sister-in-law to take her place and when I asked she was so taken by surprise and so touched she couldn't believe it and when she teared up and hugged me and said "Thank You" I knew she meant it completely.
My favorite design is probably "Lovebirds" it's so creatively illustrated but also has a modern touch.
I already know that I love the Spinnerette design because I took a snap shot of it when I first got engaged and kept it in my "fantasy" folder of what I would love for my wedding :o) So this contest is wonderful!!
My best thank you note was from a coworker, she wrote on each page back and front about how she wanted to thank me for motivating her through tough times and then she went on to give me some of her own advice which I hold with me everyday...its hanging up in my cubical :o) The reason it was the most memorable thank you note is because it was totally unexpected and it was so nice to know that I could actually have an affect on someones life.
I just love the Barcelona design and it would be such a perfect final touch to our multi-cultural wedding weekend, as my finace is from the Dominican Republic. As we plan we are doing our best to integrate his background and the Spanish language to both honor his heritage and also to introduce my friends and family to a culture that I have come to love. Our Dominican style Welcome Dinner will include traditional food, drink, merengue dancing lessons and the decor will include many of these colorful papel picado banners, which are featured on the Barcelona design.
A most memorable thank you actually arrived recently in the form of a hand written note from a dear friend of my family, a person who has been like another mother to me since I was very young. We recently asked her to be the Officiant for our wedding, an idea that I was so thrilled my fiance suggested as it means a lot to both of us to have a personal friend and confidant be the witness to this commitment we're undertaking. What meant so much about the Thank You was the fact that she was thanking us ... I felt like I should be the one thanking her, but she beat me to it and put so many of the thoughts and feelings I have about our special relationship into words better than I could have - it's such a wonderful joy to know that she appreciates me as much as I do her!
I love the simplicity of the Ville-Marie for my September wedding! My most memorable thank you was from my dear friend Candace. I recently hosted her baby shower along with another friend and her mother. She sent me a card and the words with which she chose to say "thanks" meant so much to me. To be able to share something as special as her baby shower with her and to know that she loved it so much means the world to me.
I absolutely love the "Canopy" design! The most memorable thank you I have received was from a consultant I was working with who had taught me how to do computer programming. She was so impressed with what I was able to learn and thankful for the ease of progress but also that we were able to communicate at such an effective level. She was always telling me how much she loved how quickly I picked up on the material and how thankful she was to be working with me. She even made cashew brittle for me! It was so nice to see that my hard work had not gone unnoticed and she was an amazing person to work with.
Ville-marie is my favorite... it's understated and charming. Exactly what I want my wedding to be.
I'm so lucky to be marrying my best friend. He is strong, sensitive, kind, loving, funny and best of all he loves me back. I thank him often for being there for me, but sincerely thank him for being the best thing that ever happened to me.
I'm torn between Tuileries and Caprilla. I really don't know what to choose. As for my best thank-you note, it's certainly one that made me cry. My friend got married, and I had dropped her present off at her house because I was a bridesmaid. Well, a few months after the wedding, I hadn't gotten a note, and I was really worried that my card got detached in all the chaos the morning of the wedding and after. Well, a little while later, I realized why: She was spending so much time on each thank-you, and it was the most meaningful card I ever got. She thanked me for the gift, detailed everything I did on the day AND before in the planning, and then expressed how much of a close friend I was to her. It was just so sweet. She must've spent so much time on it, when so many others just say, "Thanks for the gift and thanks for coming!" She certainly gets bridal brownie points.
I love the "Canopy" design - so understated with a little surprise twist! As for my most memorable thank you? Does it have to be one I received? The best thank you I've ever given was to the groundskeeper at the golf course behind our house... our beloved pet tortoise decided to take a walk about the golf course for 2 days - two sleepless days later (seriously! sleepless!) we got a call from the golf course. One of the groundskeepers had found him - so we thanked him with tears, with laughter, and with a very. very. special bottle of tequila!!!
I LOVE the Barcelona design and it's so unique to Bella Figura. I haven't seen anything like it anywhere else.
As for the best thank you, it would have to be the sweet notes I've received from the authors I work with at my job. It's a team effort to get their books out and they are always so happy that we're behind them. I'm so lucky to get to work with them!
I think the ESTRELLA design is very pretty. The leaves bring out a natural, simple beauty :-)
I don't think I have one most memorable thank you, but I do know that the thank you's that are unexpected usually strike me the most.
Thank you for offering such a wonderful contest! My favorite design is the connemara. I love the wallpaper effect of the design. The color is subtle, yet beautiful, elegant and regal looking. I love it!
My most memorable moment is acutally work related. I had to train a new employee on certain aspects of her job. I saw it as my chance to really prepare her for her job. I was well trained and I thought it was important to pass on that same quality of training. I looked at it as just being part of my job and I thought that maybe she was just going through the motions. A few days later, I received a beautiful thank you card in inter-office mail. It was from my trainee. She stated in the card that she had learned a lot from me and that she wanted to show her thanks because of it. Never in a a million years did I ever think to receive a thank you card from someone for something like that. This just showed me that sometimes gifts are not always tangible.
I love the Harlow design. So fun!
The best thank you note I've ever gotten was a thank you for a bachelorette party. The card was actually a postcard with a photo of the group on the back. Such a fun way to say thank you!
I'm in love with the Barcelona letterpress invitations! Everything about it, the color, te romanitc design, the balance between modern and whimsical is perfect!
The most memorable thank you was when I used to work at Dairy Queen a couple years ago and we were having this fundraiser for the Children's Hospital. This customer came in and said thank you for doing this because her son is staying at that hospital an hasn't been home for a month. She started crying and then so did I! After that, I decided to continue raising funds for the Children's Hospital outside of work and volunteered there. I still do it to this day.
I love, love, LOVE the Classic Calligraphy invitations! The simplistic and classic design is exactly what I am looking for in a wedding invitation.
The most memorable thank you I ever received was from my mother. My siblings and I had surprised her and my father with a wedding anniversary party attended all of our family and their close friends. It meant so much to them that my mom gave me my favorite picture of her and my dad from their wedding day in a frame, wishing the same happiness for me on my wedding day. I have now found this happiness and plan to display my favorite picture of my parents from their wedding day at my wedding this August.
While I have been stalking all the Bella Figura designs for ages (you can just _feel_ the weight of the paper in the photos), the Ribbon design really makes me all dreamy-eyed.
I gave my four year-old nephew a Jedi robe from an Etsy artisan for Christmas. It immediately became a tiger costume, a raft, and a wolf skin in turn. His idea--he wrote me a thank you note--his carefully scrawled name is the most legible thing on it. I will treasure it forever. What a delight to give gifts to such a thoughtful child.
These designs are SO beautiful! Let me start by saying that Promenade is probably my favorite underused font—it is just so classic and lovely! And paired with Newport, well, it would just be PERFECT for my beachside Northwest wedding. Therefore, the Bradford Design would be my dream invitation, printed in aqua or aubergine (or both!) ink, which are my two main wedding colors.
The most memorable thank-you I ever received is actually a collection of them. I've been lucky enough to mentor young women in their careers through an ongoing internship program, and quite a few of them will send me a handwritten, snail-mailed thank-you card before they go on their way toward their bright new adventures. I keep each and every one of those thank-yous in a small album, and I love going back and reading their words, so full of hope, sincerity and gratitude—it just makes my heart swell! There is something so personal and meaningful about selecting a unique card and handwriting, not typing, a thank-you note, that my collection almost looks like an art project of sorts. I truly treasure each and every one of them!
I love all things letterpress. I browsed through the entire Bella Figura gallery, and while all are beautiful, the birch design definitely appeals to me the most. I like the subtle, natural design. It fits well with what I am planning for my wedding decor, which is, after all, just a reflection of my fiancé and myself.
While I have received many memorable thank-you’s from friends and family in the past, the most memorable that I ever received came from a patient. As a registered nurse, I am often thanked by my patients and their families. These thank-you’s come in many different forms—direct verbalization, hand-written notes, e-mails, comments to my coworkers or manager, and small gifts. While I was in nursing school, I worked as a nursing assistant for a hospice company. I had one patient that I would see twice a day, seven days a week. Over the six-month period that I worked with her, I grew close to both her and her husband. I was saddened as I observed the daily progression of her terminal cancer. When she passed away, it affected me much more deeply than other patients had in the past. Shortly after her passing, I received a call from my supervisor. He stated that prior to her death, my patient had arranged a small trust fund to assist with my nursing school tuition. Her husband also sent me a letter indicating the details of the trust fund and thanking me for the service that I had provided to them. This thank-you was memorable not because it was monetary in nature, but because it was so incredibly thoughtful. They showed their appreciation to me by providing means to achieve my goals. Although it has been several years now since her passing, I still think about them and how grateful I am for their kind thank-you.
I love the Fleur De Lys suite. The design reminds me of a Venetian mirror--just like the one I am on the hunt for to have on the escort table at my upcoming vintage-inspired wedding! I received a truly memorable thank you from my fiance just last night. At a peak of stress level due to wedding planning, he gave me a heart-felt thanks over the phone telling me that he appreciates all the hard work that I am doing for the wedding and how he had just told one of his colleagues that I'm the only reason why everything is getting done, and done well! I really appreciated his recognition and after he shared his sweet thoughts I got a big smile on my face while thinking, "That's the guy I'm marrying!"
I absolutely adore the Canopy suite! I drool over Bella Figura Letterpress everyday while planning my wedding! If only my budget wasn't so so small.
The most memorable thank you I ever received was from my fiance before we were even dating. He is a great artist and he drew my family's cabin in the woods to thank us for letting him visit us there. We cherish that drawing and I have always adored the art he creates for me.
So difficult to pick just one, but my favorite is sevilla. Simple, chic, and romantic exactly what I am looking for.
My favorite Thank You card came from my dad. While I was in high school I was having a rough time and I woke up one day and while getting ready I noticed a note on my dresser. I opened it up and it was a note from my dad letting him know how I mean the world to him and that everything will be fine. It was nice being thanked for being his daugther.
So lovely! I adore the string calligraphy and hendrix 3 collections. beautiful.
I think I've fallen in love again...I've fallen for the Canopy design. The texture and simplicity of the card makes it so interesting and unique! I think giving Bella Figura thank you cards after my wedding would show how much I appreciated my friends and families support in my marriage!
Thank yous...I love planning events so I help a lot of my friends with their baby showers, weddings, etc. One of my girlfriends sent one of those edible arrangements full of chocolate covered strawberries to my work and I thought it was wonderful. It's a thank you that's thoughtful and delicious!
My favorite thank you came on the back of a scratch piece of paper that simply said "Thank you for last night." What made this note so special is that it came from one of my patients.
I am a registered nurse and work in a short stay cardiac unit. This particular patient received devastating news the day I cared for him. He was a healthy 30 year old iron man triathalon runner who was diagnosed with an enlarged heart. He was required to have an internal defibrillator placed which would shock his heart to keep him alive if and when his heart stopped functioning properly. What made this devastating was this patient worked as a truck driver, and according to federal regulations a truck driver can not have this kind of device because it could cause a dangerous accident if the defibrillator fires while the driver is on the road.
It was encouraging to know that the care I provide does make a difference in someone's life, especially when their whole world is changed by their health. I keep the note on my clipboard as a daily reminder of why I became a nurse.
My favorite bella figura design is classic calligraphy (although it is so hard to choose!). It is romantic, vintage, and classy all at the same time. What a wonderful giveaway! Many thanks to SMP and Bella Figura!
I love the "Ribbon" design. It's fun and peppy, but still classic. And I have to say, the best "thank you"s I have received occur when you can tell the recipient is just so happy! Nothing beats a hug as a thank you!
Seasonal is my favorite! Best thank you I've ever had: I donated platlets to my father immediatley before a cancer related sugery. First thing he did when he woke up was squeeze my hand. Best thank you and he's now 8 years in remission.
My favorite thank you's are the ones you see on the street...random acts of kindness you witness that make you stop and think, "Yeah, there are a lot of good people in the world." :)
Cameo is my favorite. I love the idea of the two of us being represented on the first thank you notes that we are sending as a married couple!
Along those same lines - the best thank you that I ever received was from my fiance. It was totally out of the blue and unexpected, but one evening on the phone he thanked me for making him so happy and introducing him to a life that made him so happy. It was so sincere and simple and I will never forget it.
My favorite design is 'Joy,' which has just the right colors, too.
My most memorable thank yous are from clients who are really pleased that I've been able to help them with something. Listen up folks--thank the customer service people who help you, sincerely. You have no idea how that brightens up my day!
My favorite style is Nigella.
My most memorable 'thank you' was received from a stranger. Years ago I attended a baseball game at Yankee Stadium and, upon leaving, found a pager on the ground. Even though I knew it likely belonged to a die-hard Yankees fan -- and I'm a die hard Red Sox fan! -- I decided I would do my best to return the pager to it's rightful owner. After hours of contacting the number on the pager, I finally received a return call from a very exasperated man. Turns out that the owner was a doctor at a complete loss without his trusty device. I returned the device immediately and days later I received a very heartfelt thank you from the doctor's wife, along with a Gap gift certificate. Even better, the Sox went on that season to win their first World Series in decades. To this day, I insist that win was karma thanking me for a good deed!
I fell in LOVE with Deveril ~ so much so that my Deveril invites will be mailed this month!
My most memorable 'thank you' was really a series of them. I was extremely close with my Grandmother, I stayed at her house three nights a week growing up. We had so many adventures. Trips, good books, and homemade play-dough. As she aged and 'our' adventures became 'my' adventures, she often thanked me for sharing them with her later. We'd sit on her loveseat - in the same positions we had kept since she read by lamplight, with me curled by her side - and she would thank me for bringing adventures back into her life. She gave me so much, so many opportunities I wouldn't have had. It was a mutual thanks, and I will never forget it.
I just keep coming back to the Hendrix 2. Its beautiful!
The most memorable thank you I ever recieved was actually just recently. My best friend's dad passed away, after a long fight with cancer. She lives in Alaska, so when she came down to be there over the last few months, she had to leave her husband and son at home, for school and work. I drove back to my hometown as often as I could to be there for her and her mom. After the rainy, cold, graveside service, I left the funeral only to get a flat tire on little traveled road, with no cell service, while wearing a skirt and heels. I can change my own tires, so I proceeded to start doing just that. But I hadn't even retrieved the spare before the family passed by, stopped, and my friend's brother and brother-in-law proceeded to change my tire for me - it wasn't easy, either. The tire was stuck on the wheel base somehow. I felt horribly guilty for imposing all this on them. But they simply said it was the least they could do after I'd been there for Teresa through everything. And that was it. And I'll never forget it.
I love Birch, as well as Estrella and Meadow! The designs by Bella Figura are just lovely - I've always admired them, but am not sure they will fall within our budget!
The most memorable thank you I received was a simple hug when a girl that I tutored passed a really difficult math exam. She really did well and that progress re-instilled her confidence in her abilities! :) So touching!
I am MORE than familiar with Bella Figura, as I find myself visiting their site constantly! If our budget would allow letterpress I would have leapt at the chance and ordered some exquisite stationary months ago. Choosing a favourite design from this incredible collection just may be impossible, but since I must, I would choose "Classic Caligraphy". Since letterpress is such a classic art, how lovely to remain authentic with a traditional design.
My thank you story is not necessarily one that is overly profound, but it happened just the other day and it touched me so much that I had to share.
I was looking after my future neice and nephew the other day and it was time to put them down for a nap. Little 18 month old Anna was curling up in my arms as I finished reading her a story. I carried her over to her crib, placed her down and pulled her blanket up to her chin. "Do you want me to tuck you in sweetie?", I asked, and she nodded her head yes. She closed her eyes and I slowly moved out of the room. Just as I was about to shut the door I heard her little voice call out "Thank you auntie Robyn". I was floored.
How incredible that this tiny person was able to make me feel so loved and have such an impact on me with just this small phrase. These words are spoken all the time, but we often forget how magical they can be. A thank you doesn't have to be grandiose, just heartfelt. And the smallest gesture can have incredible impact if we deliver it the right way.
I think that is why there is such beauty in a thank you note. A small and simple gesture, but powerful, because it connects your heart and your hand to the hand and then the heart of another.
We adore the JOY style! The design reminds us of the ferris wheels that we're incoporating into our wedding day as we have taken ferris wheel rides in each of the cities we've traveled to together.
My favorite thank you gesture was not for one thing in particular, but rather from my brother who was 8 years old at the time. I had taken care of him for much of his life, and when I left for college at 18, he was just learning to write short sentences in 2nd grade. My first away at college when I was feeling homesick, I opened my mailbox to find a note that read, "You're my best sis. Thank ME." My heart melted it was just so cute. If you ask me to open my wallet right now I could show it to you.
I love how each peice looks like a miniture work of art. My most memerable thank you, was probably just one from my boss that said good job. Because he never says thank you or good job, so it meant alot.
I just adore Birch. The most memorable thank you I've ever receieved was from my best friend after her wedding. We had such a blast putting together the details of her wedding and she was so thankful to have someone to share the planning process with. It was so heartfelt and lovely. I so treasure our friendship and i'll treasure the note forever.
i love the nigella design!
The most memorable thank you I've had was in junior high..as many new adolescents are, I was shy and very awkward. I didn't have too many friends. I had the opportunity to help a girl out in class once, and she wrote me the kindest 1 paragraph thank you note on a torn piece of binder paper. i was really touched and thankful for having made a friend that day, and definitely kept her note with me through my teenage years!
All of them are so beautiful!
I particularly love the Tuileries Invitation Design!
The most memorable "Thank You" I ever recieved.. well, honestly, it wasn't given to us in particular but more in general. It was letter given to my Aunt who had just came to visit my Grandpa and Grandmother. My cousin came across it a few days after my Grandfather passed this December. He thanked her for visiting them and wrote, "You are golden in our lives." And we used that phase during his funeral service and it really stuck to all of us. He truly is the one golden in our lives. and I miss him soo much :/
I love Vignette design. It is just beautiful.
I received an email from a friend I had met in High School. Last year this friend found be on FB and sent me this note thanking be for not beings mean or rude to her. She was an lesbian and had encountered much hate during her youth. To me, I was just being me. She was a lovely person and fun to be around. Her interest in girls did not effect my opinion of her. She was just awesome. It was lovely to learn I had had such a positive impact on her life that she felt the need to write me a note some 13 years later.
I love pretty much all of them, but I'd have to say Estrella is probably my favorite.
My favorite recent thank you I've received was from one of my first grade students. He gave me a balloon, so I wrote him a thank you note. He came back the next day and gave me a thank you note - for my thank you note!
I love the Linnea Card, gorgeous design and still so simple. The best Thank You card I ever received was from my husbands cousin's wedding, accompanied with the hand written thank you was a traditional hand painted glass rooster for each of their 300 some guests!
My favorite design is anthology. I love when people use intertwining graphics for weddings. The live and love concept is great. I have never actually gotten a thank you card that was memorable, but I'm absolutely positive that these cards would be memorable!
I love love love the deveril design - so classic and pretty!
My favorite is the iconic series--clean, modern, and elegant while also being playful, which is my favorite kind of design aesthetic. I especially like that you could request different gender pairings.
My most memorable thank you in recent memory was from a friend of mine who had just had a baby. My fiance and I had given her baby-sized courderoy pants and a matching crew neck. In return, she gave us a goofy picture frame with the words "Too hot to handle" on it. Inside the frame was a stick-figure drawing of my fiance and I with our bikes because we often go for bike rides together and had recently biked about 12 miles from our place to hers. She had told us that her drawing was just for fun and that we should feel free to put whatever we wanted in the frame. We decided to keep our stick figure portrait because it was so cute and thoughtful and it captured something sweet and true about our relationship.
I love the Medley Invitation Suite! The detailing is gorgeous and so intricate!
My favorite thank you I have ever received is from my fiancé after he proposed. He wrote me the sweetest letter thanking me for saying “Yes.” You see I’m a city girl and he’s a farmer so he wanted to thank me for committing to be a farmer’s wife and living a lifestyle that is completely different than I’m used to. The letter is so special that it currently resides in his safe out on the farm.
I love the Esperanza design! It's beautiful and perfect for our summer wedding in Arizona.
As a student doctor of audiology every year I volunteer to go to Mexico to test the hearing of many children and fit them with hearing aids. The best "Thank You" I ever received was seeing the look on a 15 year old girl's face when I fit a hearing aid on her "bad ear" for the first time. She started to cry and just hugged me. Not quite a thank you that can be translated into words on paper, but the best thank you I've ever received.
Love the nigella and barcelona designs! One of the most memorable thank you gifts I received this past year was a simple card and Starbucks card. It was totally unexpected and so sincere that my heart was in turn so full of thankfulness for such great friends!
They are all wonderful! I particularly love Union and Avant for their emphasis on typography! Absolutely gorgeous! The Harlow invitation is also lovely and it rhymes with my new last name! :-)
I apologize for the second posting...if you can please delete the first, that would be great! I got so excited I forgot to tell you about the best thank you I received!
They are all wonderful! I particularly love Union and Avant for their emphasis on typography! Absolutely gorgeous! The Harlow invitation is also lovely and it rhymes with my new last name! :-)
The best thank you I have ever received was a note from my fiancee attached to my favorite candy thanking me for supporting him - for no particular occassion or event, just a general thanks.
I love the Tara design although it is almost impossible to pick one out of all of the amazing designs featured at Bella. My wedding is a backyard barbeque and this design has the big tent appeal I am going for.
The most amazing thank you I have ever received is from a childhood friend. I still have the letter to this day. This particular friend had been through some very traumatic events in the last few years and our friendship had served as a way to escape from the sadness she was experiencing. More than an escape, our friendship also served as a way for her discuss her issues if she felt she needed to. She always knew I would be there if she wanted to talk, or if she just wanted to be distracted. The simple letter she wrote me was so special that I think about it regularly still. I will never forget how close a friendship can be between two women and how strong we are when we combine our strengths.
Wow, how can I choose a favorite? They're all so beautiful! If I had to choose, I'd go with the Champagne. I think it's perfect for our August wedding.
My most memorable Thank You is actually pretty funny. I went to a friend's baby shower and we ended up talking about our favorite baby names. I disclosed my favorite, Carmen, and everyone seemed to like it a lot. A week later, I received a Thank You note from my friend that said how much she loved my gift (I knit a baby sweater) and at the very end of it she said, "Guess what? We chose a baby name! .... Carmen!" At first, I was like "oh no!" but I turned the card over and a big fat "JUST KIDDING" was written. That's totally her sense of humor and she knows I love to laugh so it was perfect. I also liked that she didn't just write "Thank for your the whatever" but that she actually put some thought into it.
I guess my most memorable thank you wasn't really a thank you at all.
When I was in college, my grandmother called me and asked me to come to her house, which was about an hour's drive from my school. Seeing that I loved my grandmother to pieces and she was aging quickly, I told her I'd visit her over the weekend, which I did. When I arrived, there was a small jewelry box on the table. After making me a cup of tea, she sat down and proceeded to tell me what an incredible granddaughter I had been her entire life and how much joy I had brought her. She slid the jewelry box across the table and told me to open it. I did – inside was her engagement ring from my beloved grandfather who had passed years before. She told me to put it on and think of it as a thank you for all the incredible pride and joy I had brought her in their lives.
My grandmother passed always last September and I miss her terrible, but when I get married onJuly 16, 2011, I will have her beautiful antique ring tied on my bouquet and know that she will be close to me that day.
Ps. I love the Evelyn stationary!
I found all of the designs very beautiful and unique. The one that really caught my eye was the Dewdrop - I like that it's simple and elegant. There's not too much going on, but the amount of decorations feels perfect. There is a perfect balance between the simplicity and extravagance. And the colors will match our wedding perfectly - we get married in July in Poland, when everything blossoms.
There is no tradition of thank you notes in Poland, but since my fiance is American and we'll have American guests coming to Poland and I would love to have special thank you notes for them. I especially want to thank them for taking the effort of coming to Europe for our wedding. Not only is it expensive to fly to Warsaw, but it also requires them to take a few days off. Because of that two reasons (and because some guests simply decided that Poland is not cool enough to go to for a wedding) I appreciate even more the guests that are coming and want to celebrate our wedding with us. I know how much effort it takes them to get to our wedding and therefore I want them to know how much I appreciate it and how thankful I am that they are coming.
During our field-trip to a village school in the Naxi minority region in highland Yunnan, China, we played games with and taught English to the local students. Many grandparents and parents came out to greet us, as they rarely have had visitors from afar. One granny gave me a pair of hand-embroidered shoe inserts made of cotton to thank me for organizing the trip. I often think of her and the other women of Naxi that I met during our visit - so genuinely warm and happy in life and always hopeful for the future, despite their lack of material possessions.
The Fontaine pattern reminds me of the very special thank-you I received from the Naxi women.
LOVE the Provenance style! Bold but still totally chic.
My most memorable thank you comes from a number of years ago. In high school, we had an "encounter" weekend, where our class bonded and tried to overcome petty cliques and rivalries and just appreciate each other. To help the process, we made envelopes to hang on the wall, where other students could leave us positive messages. One note in my envelope came from a friend, thanking me for helping her come out from her shell. It was both surprising and heartfelt, and it still stands out in my memory.
impossible to pick just one. so i picked 3: surya, barcelona & irving...in LOVE with so many more!
My most memorable thank you was from a friend after her wedding. We have been friends since childhood. Her family is like my second family. She had moved states to marry her husband and we don't get to see each other as much or talk as often as we have our whole lives. Her card was not only a thank you but a heartfelt homage to our friendship. She isn't the most emotional person, so to have her express how she felt about me and our friendship made the thank you especially meaningful!
I LOVE, love, love the Fontaine, but I just can't stop looking at the Hendrix 2, because it is absolute perfection. The Fontaine has a very Frank Lloyd Wright feel to it, which would be so perfect for our 1920's mansion venue, but the romantic loveliness of Hendrix 2 just keeps drawing me back in...oh, to have such a dilemma! :-)
My most memorable thank you was so striking because it was so unexpected. I had just finished teaching a course on natural hazards at the university where I go to graduate school, and it had been a very busy, and stressful semester. I was reading over my teaching reviews, which were all very nice, but one, in particular, was just amazing. They wrote me a whole 4 stanza poem! Since the reviews were anonymous, I never found out who wrote it, but I was so touched. As you can imagine, teaching while trying to graduate myself, is more than enough stress, so it was especially gratifying to hear how much my students appreciated my effort. I printed it out and put it on my bulletin board, and I read it every time I get a little stressed or down, and it reminds me that, even when it's tough, doing a good job is more than worth the effort.
I think my favorite was Simplicity. It is just simple, elegent, and classic. There are so many that are beautiful. A friend of mine was receiving radiation treatment for thyroid cancer and it required her to be locked in a room with no other human contact for a week. I made her a basket of books, games, and word puzzles to try to help her pass the time. I return she sent me a hand written thank you card, and when asked to speak at my graduation party, talked about what I did and how much it meant to her that I took the time to gather the materials or even think about how lonely she could have been. But, as far as I am conserned, that is what friends are for.
I love Avion! I used to be a copyeditor, and love punctuation as design!
The best thank-you I received was from a girl that I had been very close to in middle school, but had lost touch with after high school. She sent me a Facebook message recently telling me how she had appreciated my friendship all those years ago.
The Meadow design is brilliant and would compliment the modern rustic theme of our backyard wedding perfectly.
The kindest thank you I've ever gotten... In high school my best friend attempted suicide by taking all the pills in her family's medicine cabinet and called me to say goodbye. I panicked and did the only thing I could as a kid-- told my mom! Well, we got her to the hospital that night and the amazing doctors and nurses saved her life. It's been fourteen years since, and over the years we lost touch because of college and work, etc. But last spring she sent me an invitation to her wedding-- with a handwritten note that said "It's because of you that I'm alive today to marry Mark. It would mean a lot if you could come." Wow.
I love these so much! What a beautiful way to say "thank you!" My favorite is harlow - stylish yet simple. Thanks so much for this give-away, it is very generous and most appreciated :)
The most memorable/thoughful thank you note I ever received was while traveling for work (of all places)! I do a lot of work with the military and was working at a large, high-profile event. One of military contacts for the event was a very young enlisted man that had recently joined the service, He ran errands and did odds and end jobs throughout the event and was always asking if he could do any additional to help/assist us. He was more than polite and respectful throughout the week. At the end of the event, he distributed thank you notes to ALL that he worked with or near - thanking us for the opportuntity and for including him as we did. This was SO impressive! He was obviously taught well and will certainly see many successes in his career!! In today's world of email, bbm, texts, etc. it was really refreshing and meaningful to receive a hand-written note - signed, sealed, and delivered! I still have the thank you note today up in my office to remind me of just how important properly and sincerely thanking those around you is! Makes me smile just telling the story :)
Thanks again!
Cameo would be a cute wink at the way my husband-to-be "met" me...by spotting a charcoal drawing I had been required to do of my own face for a high school art assignment. Embarrassing as the exercise was, it turned out to be worth all that scrutiny and the sketching. The self-portraits had been hung up in the student gallery and he later found out he had to wait a whole year to meet me in person because I was spending my junior year studying abroad in France! Shortly after I returned for senior year, he kindly offered to help me study for our Calculus class, which I was unfortunately failing at the time. Not long after all those lost hours spent not learning math in the library, we had our first kiss. It wasn't until about ten years later (yeah, it's been a while) that he told me the truth about the first time he laid eyes on me! Apart from me, only my sisters know the real story...the drawing is tucked away somewhere in a closet at my parents' house.
As for the best thank you ever, he was behind that too. To show his gratitude for my willingness to stick out the years of long distance which characterized our relationship during college, he assembled all of the underclassmen in his fraternity to sing "Patience", acappella, on a voicemail, when he knew I would be in class. They sounded so good! I was impressed that he had put their services to good use, rather than abusing his power for free pizza or something... Anyway, the song was a little before our time, but its message was perfect and I still love it to this day. It taught me that the best thank you's are those that recognize those intangible things we usually take for granted.
After twelve years and traveling around the world together, we are finally putting down roots and tying the knot this year! Sometimes a simple, little thank you goes a really long way.
I have been coveting the Bellafigura invitations for quite some time, so it's hard to pick just one. I am also behind on writing thank you notes for the gifts that have started trickling in for my wedding, because I don't have any thank you notes! So I am particularly grateful for this giveaway! I love the kathryn-- so simple and sophisticated yet unique.
The most memorable thank you note I have ever received was from my best friend. I have an amazing sister, but she doesn't, so I have always been like her only sister. Throughout the years, I have always helped her make all of the important decisions in her life, talked her through her neuroses, and been there for her in every way that I can. Beyond being so kind and generous and wonderful in every way, she is inspiring in how loving and open she is at telling the important people in her life how much she appreciates them. After I had helped see her through a particularly low time in her life, she wrote me the most incredible note telling me how much I mean to her that I will always treasure.
