Connecticut Wedding by Blush Floral Design

There is only one word that can properly describe how I feel about this wedding. Obsessed. Totally and completely obsessed. The flowers by Blush Floral Design alone are enough to elicit squeals of glee, but add to that a gorgeous gown, three perfect bridesmaids and a style that is as sweet and whimsical as it is totally elegant…well, my heart is a fluttering. Oh! And we have TONS of additional images loaded into our galleries.

Lauran and Carlos had an intimate early September wedding for 60 of their closest family and friends at Lauran’s parents’ home in East Haddam, CT located on the Connecticut River. This wedding was all about the little details!  Lauran, a trained chef, wanted to incorporate her love of vintage and her and Carlos’ love of food into the decor to create an intimate atmosphere.

They were married in front of her mother’s gardening shed with vintage chairs mixed in with white folding garden chairs.  Locally grown Zinnias in tomato cans adorned the cocktail tables to coordinate with the Bruschetta bar setup for guests. Hanging lanterns, pomander balls and strung orchids swayed in the breeze from the trees around the property.

Lauran’s mother, a talented gardener made the grounds immaculate and planted flowers in every nook and cranny. She also hung her handmade Sprite Fairies (which she makes from dried materials) and handmade paper flower lanterns from their pergola. The organically styled centerpieces featured Garden Roses, Dahlias, Ranunculus, local heirloom tomatoes, and other seasonal flowers. Patterned napkins were sewn by Lauran’s mother.  Lauran and Carlos made a donation to the Humane Society in lieu of favors but had Nina of Les Petites Presents create a Doggie Bone Favor Bar where guests could take home homemade dog biscuits to their pooches!

  35. Lauran Barbosa says:

This is long overdue!! As you found, the tie is from Paul Fredrick, nothing fancy, but we really wanted something bright and fun. Beth from Blush Studio did an INCREDIBLE job, my day would have in no way taken form the way it did without her inspiration. I can't even put into words how many wonderful ways she has changed my life as a friend and a visionary for my big day. Little Miss Nina from Le Petit Presents was so fantastic, professional and went so far beyond to help me with my favors. Her presentation was outstanding. Tulaloo did the invites and all the graphics. I can't say enough about Jessica. I found her on Etsy.com and we hit it off right away. She is creative, professional and so flexible as I changed my colors and fonts, etc. To this day I can't name one person who responds faster to emails. Her invitations set the tone for the entire event. I still use her for lots of events & things. My photographer, Meg from Creative Image Collection out of Danbury, what can I say- you see the pictures. She is so talented and managed to capture all the little moments. To see these pictures with all the details captured, I am so grateful for her abilities AND she was so much darn fun to have around. Lastly, my look, thanks to Beth, Kelley, Lindsey, Flo, Jose and the rest of the gang at White Dress by the Shore for helping me find the right dress and head piece. Also thanks to Soho Hair salon where I had my hair done by the very talented and my great friend, Brittany. My make-up was done by Stacey (sister-in-law to Eric from Raw Photo). Most importantly, thanks to my mom for making her backyard a wedding wonderland. Oh and to that fabulous man, Carlos for marrying me!! If I forgot anyone, I am sorry!
