Halloween Inspired Wedding From Verbena Floral Design

February 25th. 2010 by Eddye | Filed Under | 11 comments

Jason and Alyssa were married on October 31, 2009. Yep. Halloween.  It’s one of Alyssa’s favorite days, and she wanted to incorporate some Halloween fun into their wedding … but not go overboard. So she turned to the talented teams at Verbena Floral Design and Keely Thorne Events to help her put a whimsical twist on tradition!

Before we move on to the story, remember ~ you can see all the images from the day in SMP’s photo gallery!

Alyssa & Jason also really wanted to forgo a traditional ceremony and so they they opted for a cocktail hour as guests arrived at the beautiful Barr Mansion. The guests were able to enjoy the grounds just before sunset. Then, once the sun was setting, bells on top of the Artisan Ballroom sounded ~ inviting guests to the East Lawn of the house for the ceremony. The ceremony took place on the exquisite porch of the home while 200 guests watched from the lawn just below.

The very talented team at Verbena Floral Design created this fantastic moss wall that was used as a photo backdrop. Too pretty!

The bride's hand bouquet is absolutely, absolutely stunning. Marvelous choice of flowers; never seen one like this.

  4. Sesh says:

Beautiful wedding, but el Día de los Muertos is on November 2nd and is a completely different celebration from Halloween.

  5. Eddye says:

Sesh ~ You are SO right! We've edited the text accordingly:)

  6. Rachael says:

Does anyone know what the name of the ferns are in the floral arrangements??? LOVE this!!!

  7. Very unique and quirky. I love to see wedding themes with a difference where the bride and groom buck the trend and let their personalities shine through. The dress up items (viking horns and red feather boa) are a fun touch for the reception and yes, the shoes are fantastic!

  8. Those shoes are to die for. Nothing like a pair of sequin Louboutins. I love the A-line cut of her wedding dress, very 50s vintage glamour.

  9. Andie says:

Those wedding shoes are great!!! Anyone know where they're from??? I'd love to snag some for my upcoming Halloween Wedding!
