Ontario Wedding on the Vineyard

February 24th. 2010 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 23 comments

If ever there was an equal but opposite beauty to our last wedding, this would be it. Sent to us by the incredibly talented photography duo Sam and Mary, this wedding is all about the pretty. Simple, sweet, totally approachable pretty. And it is hands down one of the easiest weddings to fall in love with I’ve ever seen. Just a heads up, that although we have a BIG spread for you below, we’ve also added even more photos to the gallery so it’s a full on pretty fest.

Rolling hills and sprawling vineyards, the perfect backdrop for one of our fave fall weddings from 2009. Joanne and Lawrence tied the knot and celebrated with friends and family under the stars at the Ravine Winery Estates. The entire wedding was planned long distance with the help of a few friends and the talents of local vendors. Lawrence was in Dallas, Texas while his fiancee, Joanne was in Singapore. They wanted an outdoor, eclectic and yet cozy feel for their wedding and were set on having a vineyard as the background.

Joanne and her bridesmaids got ready at the elegant and stately White Oaks Resort and Spa, while the fellows dressed in their tailored suits at a local, but quaint bed and breakfast. Transportation for the day was provided by a retro vintage white schoolbus decorated with tin cans and ribbons.

The reception was held at the Ravine Vineyard Winery Estates under white canopy tents provided by Robson Tents. The meal prepared by celebrity chef, Anna Olson (food network) and her team was exquisite and featured only local foods harvested from orchards and farms in the region. Slippers and throw blankets were supplied by the couple so that guests could cozy up as the sun went down and the air grew crisp.

The whole Niagara region is like Ontario's NAPA, California and "Ice Wine" is a specialty-so sweet to celebrate a wedding too.

    Hi there,
Kate - The veil was loaned from the same shop I had the dress custom-made in Singapore.
