DIY Wedding by Amy and Stuart, III

Just one last post from Vy’s gorgeous DIY wedding. Check out the vintage inspired table numbers and different quotes tied to each napkin. This is the PERFECT way to get guests interacting at the dinner tables, by the way. I can just envision guests walking around the room trying to see what each person’s napkin says. My personal favorite is the quote from Homer Simpson, “Can’t Talk…Eating.” I can so relate! Oh, and the bamboo plates and silverware are just too sweet! It just goes to show you that uber fancy and expensive isn’t always the answer.

One last image that just sums up how quirky and fun this couple truly is. I’m sure you’ve seen “the balloon shot” a time or two by now, but something about this moment really just makes me think Vy and Michael might have been sneaking away from the wedding just for a brief moment to really take it all in.

While Vy created many of these amazing details on her own, I truly believe behind every talented designer is great resources. Here is the team and sources that helped bring her vision to life:

Venue: Smog Shoppe / Dress: Reem Acra / Shoes: Miu Miu / Photography: Amy and Stuart / Hair & Makeup: Aubrey Marie / Caterer: Alex Catering / Cake: Phoenix Bakery / Fruit & Mousse Tarts: Susina Bakery / Cream Puffs: Beard Papa’s / Caketoppers: etsy seller magicbeanbuyer/ Wood veneer: Northern Sheer Veneer / Paper goods: Kelly Paper and Paper Source

A big thank you to Vy and Michael for sharing this amazing inspiration with us and also to Amy and Stuart who told the story of their wedding day in a way that only they can!

xoxo, Beth Helmstetter

This wedding is the perfect inspiration for me. I've decided - I'm going antique shopping today! Thank you so much for posting this. I want my reception centerpieces to look just like that.

  2. Libby says:

Where did you get the table number holders?

  4. Abbey says:

Love those table number holders (the dark wood clips). Where are they from?

  5. Danielle says:

Absolutely gorgeous and so fun!!! I love the quotes on each napkin--you're right, a great conversation starter!

  6. Michael says:

Vy and I found the giant over sized clothes pins we used for the table number holders at a novelty shop. I just stained then a dark walnut color to match the tables a little better.

  7. Kristin says:

Love! Can you tell me where they got the extra large yellow balloon? I love these for shoots-

    Thank you!

  8. I just had to use my hand to physically close my mouth. I'm in awe. I'm in love with all the paper goods--the invites and table numbers. Sighhhhh. Now I want to redesign my company logo and business cards. I thought they were so pretty, but compared to the purple violets and flourishes of color...I'm so envious. Bravo! Very beautiful, fun, and romantic.

  9. Jackie says:

Please tell me where I can get my hands on the fabulous paper invites and the gorgeous silhouette frames!!! Just too good to be true! LOVE!!!!

  10. Love the table numbers and paper invites!

Waouw ! I am in love with the table numbers ! Oh please let us know where you found them, they would just be perfect for my vintage wedding... Or does the bride design them herself ? If she could do the same for me I would be so glad... She just has to send me an email... Please...

  12. The detail that went into this wedding is just fabulous. LOVE the backs of the bride+groom's chairs. And the napkins add such a personal touch. Love everything about it! Great post!!

Beautiful and inspiring! Can you tell me where you found the table numbers, or how you did them yourself?

The clips are great....I've seen them for $1 a peice at AC Moore craft store.

  14. ashley says:

i really like the photos on the back of the chairs.. where are the frames from?

  15. Vy says:

@Abby & Jes: I have to do some digging to find out where I got the clips...it was a tiny site. But I am re-selling those, so PM me if you're interested in them.

@Vanessa: I designed the table numbers myself. Feel free to get in touch with me.

@Ashley: The frames are my own vintage frames.

  16. Lisa says:

So pretty! Where did you find the images of the shilloutes? Love them!

  17. Theresa says:

I would love to get a copy of the table numbers for my own vintage wedding!

  18. Vy says:

@Lisa: The silhouettes are actual silhouettes of me and Michael. I took photos of us and used those to create our silhouette artwork.

@Theresa: Feel free to PM me.

  19. joya says:

I, too, would be incredibly grateful for advice you could share on getting those table numbers for my own wedding. Absolutely beautiful...

  20. Tracy says:

Hi...I am interested in those table numbers. Could you please give me some information on how to make them or where to buy them. Thank you!!!! =)

  21. Elaine says:

Tracey, the bride is a designer, so she did them herself. You could probably hire a graphic designer to create something very similar.

  22. Kristian says:

I am in LOVE with the table numbers. I am having a vintage style wedding this July and I would love to have some like those. Could you please get into contact with me or I with you to find out how you made them!? I would really appreciate it!!
Just let me know what I need to do! :)
    Thanks!!
