A Twilight Inspired Tablescape

February 12th. 2010 by Erin | Filed Under | 56 comments

Hello lovelies, Erin here from Erin Ever After and I come today bearing Valentine’s Day inspired gifts — and a confession. I am an avid reader of Twilight. There, I said it. Now only thousands of people know my little secret. But even if you aren’t a fan of the vampire series and have no idea who Edward and Bella are, I promise you this tablescape is sure to delight. Plus, what could be more perfect for Valentine’s Day than eternal love?

The insanely gorgeous collaboration between event planners Lina Wallace and Heather Ham was shot by photographer extraordinaire Meg Perotti.  Now on to the goods, shall we? Let the pretty parade begin…

From Lina and Heather, the event planners behind the shoot:

We mainly took our inspiration from the fourth book in The Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer, Breaking Dawn, in which the two characters Bella and Edward get married. The wedding was described as taking place at the house where Edward and his family live in the woods surrounded by all white flowers. We also took inspiration from the iconic cover of the first book where hands are holding an apple. Apples were used as escort cards, candleholders, a cake topper, and our signature beverage, hot apple cider.

For our ceremony setup we had floating rose heads and crystals hanging from a tree with a simple white rose petal aisle.

For the bouquet, we used peonies, roses, lisianthus, dusty miller and bluporum tied with a simple white ribbon that had the words “so the lion fell in love with the lamb” written by our calligrapher, Calligraphy Katrina.

Melody of Sweet and Saucy designed the cake. She took our themes and ideas and made a cake that is truly unique and beautiful incorporating our color scheme as well as the branches and the apple of course.

For the favors, we had several options including buttons with “Team Bella” and “Team Edward”, as well as miniature green trees and pashmina wraps in coordinating colors.

For our main tablescape we used all white flowers (roses, lisianthus and hydrangea) as well as some greenery (dusty miller and bluporum and a few succulents). We incorporated apples as candleholders as well as using floating candles in glass containers and silver candelabras. We had a lace table runner made by Sashes of love placed down the center of the table. We had menus made by our calligrapher with each guest’s name (Bella, Edward, Alice, Emmett, Esme, Carlisle, Rosalie and Jasper). We used a chocolate brown satin ribbon with a crystal broach at each place setting.

We also decided to do a “Luxe for Less” look to show brides how they could take a high-end tablescape and interpret it into something more reasonable for those concerned with their budget. Instead of the rented wooden tables we used a standard linen in camel. We used wooden folding chairs in an antique finish and used a single candelabra with a few floral centerpieces for a similar effect as the main tablescape.

We wanted to bring Bella and Edward’s wedding to life similar to how it is described in the book. We’ve seen other inspirations that are very gothic and dark using reds and blacks, but we wanted to show our interpretation of what their wedding would really look like with delicate, light, airy details.

  5. Love love love this! Its so neat to see how other people imagine the wedding from the book. And I'm with you, Team Edward forever!

  6. Love, love, love! Fabulous ethereal feel to the table scape!

  7. Brenda says:

I admit, I rolled my eyes when I read the title but this is beautiful. I suppose twilight isn't so bad if it can inspire something like this.

  8. It turned out so great!! I think the rainy day made it even better! :)

  9. Leandra says:

Wow, it's so fun to see how they interpreted all the details from things in the book. I love, love, love the writing on the apples. The cake is gorgeous as well!

  10. Mary Kate Raffetto says:

    This is awesome!!!!

You should pitch out your services to the film studio to do the actual wedding in the fourth movie! It would be awesome, good PR for both you and the movie, and lend itself to so many stories for the blog!

  11. Meg says:

Team Edward!! :) Thanks for sharing you guys xoxoxo

  12. Megan says:

Using the apples as name cards: BRILLIANT! I've been trying to find a way to incorporate more green in to my sister's wedding. I may have to steal this one!!!

This is SO beautiful and elegant! I just emailed it to my fiance wanting to change our wedding theme, haha. Team Edward :)

  19. Steph says:

Yes, I'm a Twilight fan. Yes, I'm a dork. No, I'm not "goth" or interested in that style in the least.

This is a gorgeous interpretation of a Twilight theme, I love it. I especially appreciate the serious lack of black velvet/ red satin/ giant sparkly stuff. Thank you for such a fresh take on this theme!

  20. ajb says:

this is so so beautiful and moody! love. it.

  21. Vanessa says:

This is beautiful. But I would have loved to see their interpretation of "THE DRESS". I can't seem to formulate it in my mind...

  22. Erin says:

What a fun clever idea and it's so nice to not see the typical vampire inspired decor being used. This looks fresh and organic, and looks like it actually took place somewhere in Washington. Now...let's pretend it's Jake's wedding :) I'd be much more interested in that!

  23. I am so excited that you all like what Lina & I came up with. It was a labor of loves and seems to have paid off in spades. THANK YOU!!!!

  24. Emily T says:

Personally, I'm a little anti-Twilight, but I still think this looks fantastic! I like the modesty of everything with it's nice little details, like the green glasses, the dangling crystal, the dark wood, and green apples. Overall, job well done :)

  25. S says:

So pretty! I'd only change one thing and it's that I'd make Team Jacob buttons...Team Jacob!

  26. courtneyrosen says:

    this is simply beautiful!!!!

  27. Lauren says:

  28. WOW! Love the apples, this shoot was super creative. Nice work!

  29. So excited to hear such positive feedback. Heather and I had an amazing time putting it together and thank everyone who contributed to it!

  30. AML says:

I'm not a Twilight fan but this is GORGEOUS. I love the light and bright feeling of it.
I also love how organic and fresh it looks.

  31. Susan says:

so the lion fell in love with the lamb... that gave me goosbumps... this is breathtaking, while reading the book i tried to imagine what it would look like, and i think this is 100% right! Stunning!!!!!! Team Edward!

  32. Dalia says:

Spectacular! Extraordinary detail......makes me want to get married again!

  33. Naomi says:

Oh my, oh my this if gorgemonous! Yes, I said gorgemonous :-) Stunning.

  34. Edward's Girl says:

Wow it is sooo beautiful But i can't see how it follows the book but still luvin it!!*♥Team Edward 4-ever♥*

  35. AnnC says:

    Lovely :)

And it doesn't "follow the book", it's how the author described Bella and Edaward's wedding in the 4th book (well, more or less... I had a remembrence of touches of light pink and no green ? But maybe I'm mistaken lol).
Would have loved to see the dress too, can't imagine it... in the book the description is too vague lol.

  36. This is very romantic and ethereal! I love it and love how natural everything looks. It's very "secret wedding" I have not read the books but it makes me want to have a forest wedding with sexy vampires in attendance!
    Great job Lina and Heather!

  37. Virginia Vo says:

I love this theme...it's romantic and beautiful...BTW TEAM EDWARD ROCKS! :)

  38. I LOVE the calligraphy on the apples, it's so gorgeous!!

  39. Lyrical and fresh are exactly the right words to describe this beauty. I was seduced into loving the series and now I'm Team Edward (altho I'll always be a soft spot for Jacob!)

  40. To those that have mentioned it "doesn't follow the book". We merely took our inspiration from the book. Most of the tablescapes we've seen for Twilight have been very dark and gothic with red and black. We wanted to interpret Edward and Bella's wedding for a real Bride and Groom who wanted to have a wedding look similar to theirs. This is merely our interpretation of that.

  41. Dr. Blondie says:

Beautiful and very classy! I'm a huge Twilight fan and I'm Team Edward all the way!

  42. amazingly gorgeous and refined! I'm totally team edward too

  43. WowedTwilighter says:

@Events by Heather Ham, you *did* follow the book (beautifully, I might add). "Twilight" is not about Goth vamps or those who favor any stark, bold color palettes. This soft white-and-neutral palette is definitely true to how S Meyer consistently describes for the Cullen home and their wardrobes. LOVELY.

  44. Erin Adams says:

This is great ladies! I love your interpretation. I'm proud of you Lina & Heather!

  45. Kayla says:

    Edward's middle name is mason

  46. I am a huge fan of Amy Atlas! Her dessert table are absolute perfection! I had not seen this 1 yet, but I really love it! She featured my lollipop invitations on her weblog a few months ago, and I couldn’t have been more flattered!

  47. Debbie Reyna says:

    very tasteful, beautiful and inspiring!

  48. Twilight is definitely a very good film!!!

  49. LOVE this setup -- it's stunning!

  50. absolutely lovely. Don't know what my favorite part is...maybe everything. Just did the look for less on Bella's dress and accessories. Amazing how much time and money went into this wedding. What a fairytale
