Despite my Boston address, I am a total Texas girl. I was raised in a small town outside of Houston where Friday night lights were all that mattered and the Rodeo was the one thing we looked forward to every February. I miss those days more than I would probably ever admit to and this particular feature took me right back home to a time when beer bottles make perfect vases and a few bits of lace could make any table look pretty.

This event was the annual gala for an organization called the Austin Wedding and Events Coordinators. Held at a divey Austin bar called the Scoot Inn, Gina Whittington with the event design firm Clink made sure that the “dive bar chic” vibe was translated to perfection. Heather Banks, the photographer behind the day, snapped the images with the same laid back elegance, providing the perfect inspiration for a rehearsal dinner or a casual wedding. Love, love, love.

"Dive bar chic" is my new favorite design term IN THE WORLD! Genious! How on earth did you guys manage to pull off a setting that totally captures the "a little bit gritty, but a little bit classy, and a little bit confused about which one I am more" identity crisis that I totally deal with on a regular basis!!??
This is all so gorgeous. I love the simplicity of the details. Am I the only one who loves baby's breath? Go Austin!!
YAY Gina and YAY Clink! From experience, I know they are the best around! Plus, I spy my lace table linens - le sigh, LOVE.
I'm obsessed with baby's breath! The CLINK team is completely fabulous. Yeeehaw!
Lovin' the baby's breath!
AWEC ROCKS!!!!! Thanks to the fabulous AWEC team that helped pull it all together- Becky Brock with BZ Events, Jessica Moore with Something to Celebrate, Denise Silverman with CLINK and Claire Kelly with CLINK!!!! I love you all for making my "coming out as President" party PERFECT!!!! xoxoxoxo Gina
Gorgeous as usual, CLINK! I saw it with my own eyes and it was lovely.
Whereeeeeee is that lace from? I NEED it!
I'm from Houston and love all things Texas too! What town are you from...Sealy, Bellville, Brenham, ??? I actually have a funny story about when I heard that you were from Texas.
Love seeing Texas vendors!
How lovely and casual. As a fellow Houstonian, I can appreciate your love for the relaxed country vintage ambiance. Everything a wedding should be. And I fell in love with the "filler flower" a few years back when I saw it used in bunches just like these.
You should come back for a visit this rodeo season! We have some great headliners this year.
All the best.
Tonia- every year at the annual gala the incoming president gets to throw a party that represents her personal style. I LOVE dive bars and anything vintage and LACE! The containers are all "found objects" from Round Top and the lace is from Marquee Event Group. It is the PERFECT LACE!!!! I have used it for 2 of my favorite clients (yes Kate- I am talking about you). And I LOVE baby's breath and so many people turn their noses up at it so I had to get that in there. I also love carnations, which Sasha Souza referred to as mini peonies tonight- I LOVE HER! We also had a frito pie bar, grilled cheese station, meatloaf sliders, mac and cheese and mini chicken pot pies!!!! PLUS cobbler and ice cream :) It was my own personal heaven.
I'm really feelin' this one--well done. The veil netting is such a nice departure from tulle--and who knew baby's breath could look so good (not I) ?
The lace is the best--really stunning on the dark wood.
Love it! It's delightful. Way to go Gina, CLINK is lucky to have such a talent.
This is my favourite kind of styling... combining two very opposing looks. Who would've thought beer bottles and lace would look so good together?! Beautiful, classic...
love the wreath!!! oh how do people manage to pull this kind of look off...seriously, beer bottles :) Amazing job and I also love the netting!
Can I get a big "HOLLER!" for beer bottles on Style Me Pretty?! Woo! Love it!
I agree the lace is amazing!! Anyone know where they found it?
loving the rustic look of these shots
Love this theme and feel!!
I adore the rustic look, and the beer bottle vases are just wonderful. As a former country girl (and hopefully one day again), I find these so delightfully homespun without approaching the typical Anthropologie-style "rustic" that we see everywhere. Brilliant work!
I get tons of questions from brides asking how to pull off country style wedding decor without being too kitschy. Your choices are spot on. I'm bookmarking for future reference. KUDOS!
Love this style...great job Gina, fabulous as always!
Great pics Heather...love the rustic elegance of these images!
I was at the event and it was terrific. You all did a wonderful job!
Love the attention to detail! {Swoon}
Good times and beautiful decor.
I love your rustic theme! I'm looking for lace like you have on your tables, where did you find yours??
