Words don’t even begin to express my excitement about this next Inspiration to Reality feature. Created by a crew of extraordinarily talented Toronto vendors this shoot is FULL of gorgeous, bold details that will knock your socks off. So, I’m going to start with a photo that will give you an idea of just how unique of a day we have in store for you. Feast your eyes on this cake…
From Cynthia Martyn…
We had a lot of fun with the shoot, it was wonderful to have complete creative freedom and the opportunity to collaborate so closely with our partners without the confines of a specific client directive or budget. The team felt the inspiration board lended itself to a theme of “Bohemian Romance” so we tried to make it very eclectic and romantic, with a bit of vintage thrown in as well.
As if really killer shoes, delectable treats, and perfect favors weren’t enough, we also have some seriously AMAZING flowers… and we’re just getting warmed up.

oh.my.gosh. freaking out over this gorgeousness so far! that cake, those canneles, the flowers!
A POMEGRANATE ON TOP OF THE CAKE!
Love.
OOOOOH-those shoes are exactly what I am looking for! Do you have any info-they aren't on the website. =(
what are the flowers in that AMAZING bouquet?
Sitting in the OB waiting area with my wife (expecting in 2 weeks) I screamed out with excitement. I'm am so exciing about this posting. Cynthia said it best. We had so much creative freedom, we all loved it. Thanks to everyone who help put this together. Looking forward to the next shoot.
Looks very beautiful! I love the antique feel.
Gorgeous! In love with the colors....and the wagon!
drop dead darling and beautiful!
Thanks everyone - we LOVED putting the shoot together!
Teresa: for the shoes, they were by GUESS, but they were one of our great finds. They were on sale at a store that specializes in clearing out last season's merchandise, so you may not be able to find them on the Guess website. Perhaps online shops like Bluefly.com might be a good place to search.
Caroline: I am going to get Tamara and Kevin from Fuscia Designs to come on here and confirm the flowers, but I am pretty sure the little pink blooms are Nerine lilies, and there is also Amaryllis. The deep red flowers I need to check on - I can't remember if they were peonies or something else :)
Incredible work everyone! Yay Toronto!
@Mimmo! Congrats!!! Even with all the excitement you guys have going on... we're SO glad that you were able to do this shoot. GORGEOUS photographs. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
WOW. The color palette and surprising details are truly knock-your-socks off. Gorgeous gorgeous cake, and love the unexpected touch of placing ornate red vases inside simple glass ones!
I am head over heels for the soft red and pink color palette! So lovely!
Mimmo. These photographs are beautiful. The colour and lighting are superb. I've always admired your stillife photographs that I've seen in your books and in magazines.
Cool shoot. I like that there is a warmth and softness to the shots.
Congrats to those involved. Steller job.
Andreas
um, yum! I want a cannele, and a pomagranate. I love how digging those seeds out turn your fingers a pretty pink... :)
Cynthia: Love the shoes as well. Any chance you have the style name? They are amazing!
The flowers are lovely and this is the first cake I've seen with fabric rosettes - what a beautiful idea....and that pink dress!
Just did a search for GUESS 2008 collection-- The style name is GUESS Nisadora. They come in the red multi featured here, a purple multi, and black. You can find them for sale online for as little as $75.
OMG - Those SHOES! swoon
ok, so I'm in LOVE with the candle holders inside the large vase!!!! Where did you find the candle holders? I've been able to find the tall glass ones, just not the pretty red!! Any help would be great!
LOVE this! So beautiful!
Hi Kris,
The candle holders were just regular plain old candle holders that Fuscia spray painted red, so you could go out to garage sales etc. and collect a bunch and then just paint them to match your colour scheme!
Thanks sooo much Cynthia :)
I am in awe! I absolutely LOVE every detail! Cake Opera is so amazing!
Just the photos are art. I like it.
Thank you all for the awesome floral compliments, not only did we have the best time ever contributing to the shoot, but we share your respect and admiration for the fabulous team that we had the opportunity to work with.
Caroline, thank you, the bouquet is composed of clustered Amaryllis, Pink Nerrine, Pink Cyclamen, Coral and Pink Spray Roses, Red Peonies and Pink Peonies, wrapped with red ribbon from Mokuba.
Beautiful creative! Congrats to all of you!
I love how all the pink, red and coral goes together!!!
