This year we’re bringing back one of our favorite features, Inspiration to Reality, but along with a few other things on SMP (you can catch up on some of our plans on Backstage) we’re going to make a few changes. Vendors will now be able to pick from ANY of the gorgeous inspiration boards on the Style Circle. We won’t overwhelm you with posts announcing challenges, we’ll just streamline the process a bit and make sure that the emphasis is on the incredible designs.
If you’re new to us here at SMP, here’s how it works: Head on over to the Style Circle and design an Inspiration Board that you would love to see come to life. Then a team of our incredibly talented vendors will browse through the beautiful boards and pick their favorite to transform into a stunning photo shoot chock-full inspiration and steel worthy design ideas.
So this…

Pretty cool, huh?!?
So, our next magnificent crew of design gurus to take on this feature is event designer Beth Helmstetter, photographer Steve Steinhardt, floral design by Holly Flora, calligraphy by Laura Hooper, accessories by twigs and honey, Monique Lhuillier, cinematoraphy by Russell Fowler, and linens from La Tavola. All you need to do is scoot on over to the Style Circle and design an Inspiration Board (or many) that you would love to see come to life. That’s it! Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Abby do we need to re name our boards or they will all appear from history? I have a few boards but they are months old!
Thanks!
You don't need to rename boards, but you can tag it inspiration to reality. Then vendors can just click on that tag and view those boards.
Is it possible to find out any info on the ring shown in the first board? I'm in love with it- I've been looking for a ring just like that to show my boyfriend and come up empty handed.
xoxo
Do we need to name our boards anything special? WHat should we tag them as?
OMG! I love this shoot!!!! Has it already been posted and I missed it? HOW?! If only I weren't getting married in Spring...
Constance, I remember that ring featured in a real wedding here on SMP recently. The photo credits under the board should directly link you to the photographer who shot the wedding. You may have to get in touch with the couple to find out! Gorgeous ring; you've got great taste, girl!
Hi Nikki. Here is the post for the rest of the shoot: http://www.stylemepretty.com/2009/11/25/from-inspiration-to-reality-2-the-design-ii/
Several of you asked about the ring. It is Jessica Claire's, http://www.stylemepretty.com/2009/10/21/jessica-claires-wedding-by-jose-villa I'm not sure where it's from, but you might be able to find out on her blog, www.jessicaclaire.net . However, I have seen some similar settings on Michael C. Fina.
Elaine, is a certain date when the crew will be announcing who they've selected, or is it a surprise?
Hi ladies. Go ahead and tag your boards "inspiration to reality" if you would like. Vendors will search through boards a number of ways, by going through the pages and searching the tags. This particular group is picking this board today (Friday) but we have so many other teams lined up to do this feature, that they're picking new boards literally every week. So keep designing and they'll keep picking.
Hi, just discovered your blog but I have to say that it looks sweet. I fully agree with your post. Have a good day, keep up the great work and I will definitely follow it.
