Part two of our first real wedding of the New Year. That sounds so important doesn’t it? Well, the wedding was pretty special, more than deserving of the title. I mentioned in my last post that my favorite thing about this affair (and my favorite new wedding trend for that matter) is the different hued bridesmaids dresses. So cute, such a fun way to infuse color, such a great way to give each girl a dress that she truly loves. But the adorableness didn’t stop there. The reception was absolutely perfect with an intimate dinner among friends, a couple that is so stinking cute I am almost jealous and a style that is as laidback as it is completely elegant.

Following the ceremony, guests moved over to the barn and bocce court area where we served signature cocktails (The Foxy Lady — champagne with fresh pomegranate seeds and pomegranate juice, and the Zoolarsder — vodka, soda water, lemon and fresh basil) and offered a wine tasting. We decided to serve a family style dinner that would encourage guests to interact, keep with the rustic feel, and allow us to showcase the delicious, local, seasonal food that Sonoma County offers. We kept table arrangements simple: creamy white hydrangeas in mason jars, and golden colored runners over ivory linens. Each table was “numbered” by a how to say Cheers! in a different language, creating a festive feel. Guests names were written on coasters with an image of an oak tree and their table name.

After dinner, the party started — with a dance floor outside under an almost full moon (the harvest moon was the next night) and a lounge set up in the barn. My bridesmaids had made several of my favorite dessert treats which were served at a dessert buffet. Our night ended with a surprise — a vintage white cadillac limo that my brother-in-law arranged to pick us up. It was a magical day, and I feel so lucky that we got to start our marriage off in such a amazing way — surrounded by our family and friends in the most beautiful place!

The bride is SO gorgeous!
Completely obsessed with everything about this wedding. Adorable couple, extraoridnary wedding, and beautiful photographs. It looks like their entire event captured this couple's personality.
Not to mention the long tables are fantastic casual detail! I would have loved to have been a guest at this event!
Yours in Perfect Planning,
Susan Southerland
we need to know about the engagement ring!
I agree! That engagement ring NEEDS to be talked about - that is the most gorgeous ring!
What an elegant looking bride. Love the whole wedding.
I need to know where she got that amazing paper with the Oak tree for her program. Thanks!
Where did the bride get her crocheted wrap/shawl? I love it!
Can someone please let me know who designed that engagement ring!? I love it!
thanks everyone! the diamond on the engagement ring was left to me by my grandmother, but lars had it reset (secretly) when he proposed! he used a local jeweler in San Francisco, Juan Garcia (j. garcia fine jewelry).
as for the programs we did everything ourselves and printed at kinkos to safe some $$ -- but i know hello lucky can create something very similar.
the shawl was actually one of my "somethings borrowed" from my bridesmaids... so i don't know where it's from, but i love it too! i did see something very similar at macys recently.
thanks again, your comments are all so kind!
Hi Kathryn-
Me, my sis, and my mom are in love with your ring!! Do you have upclose picture of it that I could see? I would die to have a similar one made.

Hi Brooke,
Thanks so much! these are probably the best pictures of my ring, but I could definitely send you larger versions if you send me your email. I'll also try to find out what the setting style is called.
