Seems as if we’ve had a slew of Colorado weddings on the LBB Blog lately, but we really couldn’t pass this one up! Shot by the fabulous Jenna Walker and submitted by today’s beautiful SMP bride, Lacee … well, it’s simple and chic with a casual flair ~ done perfectly!
From Lacee …
After losing our planner it was all on me in the last 30 days on a super tight budget to pull off the amazing wedding I had always dreamed of.

The weeks leading up to the wedding were spent making the place cards, tables numbers, favor bags, menus and program on the chalkboard. Our wedding was so US and I loved putting together every piece. I had the idea to create our ring bearer’s pillow from one of my great-grandmother’s handkerchiefs. My Mom sewed it and we placed a magnolia on the top with ribbon in the center from which we tied the rings… CUTE! I love the vintage look of the pink and light blue fabric and the importance of the pillow.

On my amazing bouquet by Plum Sage Flowers, I tied the locket of my great grandpa Cleo. He pretty much raised my Mom and me and is the most special person watching over us. The ring that was also attached was my wedding gift from his wife Luella ~ her wedding ring that he had given her July 14, 1936. His presence was VERY important to me.

Nate made the benches himself and engraved our names in the one that we used (ours was salvaged from an old dance hall and it was the template for the larger benches used as the seating during the ceremony and at dinner). We used Ralph Lauren gray and black paint to distress paint all 16 benches. We also engraved the initials of our parents on their respective front benches.

My dress was by Maggie Sottero, the Harlow design, first dress I tried on and loved it! I loved the lace and vintage feel and couldn’t get enough of the flower!

The JEANS… LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how amazing Nate and all of our guys looked in the jeans … we were going for a very southern hospitality but trendy wedding with a vintage flair. Love it and achieved the exact look we were going for. No bouts for the guys and no ties. Untucked shirts. So us.

The junior bridesmaids are my two sisters. It was important to me to set them apart from the other three girls. Their dresses are BCBG and they looked radiant!

Meredith Brewer from the Westin Riverfront helped us with the amazing cuisine for our special day with smoked salmon, rock shrimp and caramelized onion pizzas for the cocktail hour followed by tangled greens with sweet potato strings and amazing filets or roast chicken for dinner.

Nate works for the City of Boulder Fire Rescue so we had a miniature chrome fireman’s axe engraved with our names and wedding date by Eagle Engraving. Our cake topper was by Toppers With Glitz and looked amazing on the all white and ivory cake. Perfect and exactly the cake I dreamed of. Simple and so pretty. Our cake flavors were champagne vanilla pistachio and Columbian espresso chocolate for Nate’s groom’s cake (a life sized replica of Nate’s fire helmet). Terrific job by the pastry chefs at the Westin ~ we were blown away.

Our favors were black and white (chocolate and coconut) gourmet donuts from The Tin Star Cafe and Donut Haus, a BBQ place in Evergreen, Colorado!

Our location was BREATHTAKING! It was a dream and worth all the effort!!! DIY at its best … A day I am thrilled to look back on every day!!

What a GORGEOUS day. Thanks so much, Lacee & Nate and Jenna for sharing!
I loved all of the creativity and elegance you put into your wedding. Can you tell me where you did your place cards? They are exquisite!
I think the cake cutting witht he axe is GREAT....Really cute. All of the Bride's DIY projects look awesome...
Didn't think you could have a classy wedding wearing jeans. I was WRONG!!
I love all the details in this wedding...from the blue jeans, to the flower girl dresses, to the bride's shoes and wedding dress and the ...oh so wonderful photos with the last one being my favorite. I love the backdrop of the clear blue skies, and the different shades of green from the trees and plants all set in a nice, warm countryside setting. This is all beautiful work. Congratulations!!!
A really, really nice wedding. The couple seems so relaxed here but the details are stunning.
Stacey ~ I pieced together the place cards on my own, with help from Nate, we cut, pasted and printed them all ourselves. I'd be happy to help if you'd need any!
Lacee, Thank you so much for letting me know about the blog post! How exciting! Love the contrast of the cake cutting "utensil" and the cake topper. Too cool.
Is that the 18 or 36 inch axe? I have been thinking about ordering this but was unsure if the 36 would be too big. And I love the idea of making the beaches! We have been looking to rent benches but I think you have changed my mind.
Jo ~ the axe is the 18 inch for sure, its pretty heavy so I'd stay with the smaller one. The benches were so easy and we had so much fun making them, they really added our own touch to the day.
Lacee, can you tell me how exactly you created your placecards? They are beautiful! I am having a black and white wedding, and I love the variety of patterns you used. I would love to attempt to recreate this look. Thanks!
where are the jewels from on ur branches..they look stunning! i also love your hairstyle.. is so different reminds me of like vintage look :)
Beautiful work Jenna and Plumsage! Colorado is lucky to have such amazingly talented pros.
It was a beautiful wedding. Your work did not go unnoticed, Lacee!
Sara ~ Here is a link to my placecards http://www.etsy.com/shop/Lace006
Ashley ~ The crystals are from Jamalia Garden and worked out great! My hair was the easiest thing, I spent about 15 mins in pin curls, spray, pin, spray again and go:)
Um How fabulously glam is her hair? Loves it! But then again, I am from Dallas? It has a "poof" I am all for it!
I loooove this wedding! It is absolutely gorgeous. I have a similar dress and love the earrings you wore with it, Lacee. Where are they from? Also, I love your shoes! Can you tell me about them too? I am also in love with your hair. I am meeting with my hair dresser this weekend for a trial run so am bringing a picture of your hair!!
Sarah ~ The earrings are Anna Bellagio, very resonably priced and she has tons to choose from. My shoes are Christian Louboutins and I can't say enough about those shoes :) Thanks for your sweet compliments, glad I could help!! Enjoy your wedding!!!
Thanks Lacee... I figured they were probably Louboutins, but just thought I'd ask in case! They are gorgeous :) Thanks for your help!
It's not often I come across a wedding that has an idea I haven't seen before... The blue jeans totally made my jaw drop - in a good way! They really work and add to this beautiful wedding! Congratulations to the bride and groom.
A "tight budget" that includes Louboutin's? I'm jealous!
I thought black wasn't appropriate for a wedding though the contrast with black and white is really good. I like this wedding! Beautiful.
Wow! What is not to LOVE about this wedding? I want to get married again and have so many of these details. I've always loved how the black and white combination looks and am amazed by all the details that make the wedding laid back but elegant at the same time. Amazing. Great job! Can't wait to share it with my readers.
Love your hair! It looks amazing! Great job!
OMG. you placecards are amazing? How did u make them? do u mind sharing the process and where you got the beautiful patterns?
Erin ~ here is the link to the placecards:)
I absolutely LOVE your DIY wedding...from every last touch. simply beautiful! Where did you find your CL shoes? I have never seen them with the heel like that...did you add that touch? Thanks and congrats!!!
Lacee,
We're getting married in Beaver Creek in March. Thank you for all of the links to the wonderful resources!!! Your wedding was gorgeous! Where did you find the Louboutins? SO fabulous! Going to try Neimans, but wondered if you had an internet source?
Lacee - I am in love with everything you did. I think the guys' attire is my favorite though! How did you do your twig centerpiece - is that curly willow? Where did you find everything and was it inexpensive? I have been researching to do something very similar, yours is the first I've found that I have loved everything about! What a beautiful day you had!
How about the branches on the first picture... nice!! I was set on manzanita branches but wasn't excited about the price... that would be a PERFECT substitute, what kind of branches did you use? Everything about your wedding was absolutely gorgeous!!!!
The Bride is soooo beautiful!!!!! i love that the groom and the grooms men are wearing jeans! so unique!!
Lacee - my fiance is a FF for Westminster and REALLY wants to wear jeans for our wedding in June (in Steamboat). What a funny coincidence...is it a firefighter thing? I thought he was crazy but it looks fantastic!!
where is the venue? it is absolutely amazing! i am really wanting an outdoor wedding but am new to denver and don't really know where to go.
Hey Becca, you can email me at lacee@charliandcleo.com and I will give you all the details:)
Lacee, Can you tell me what kind of branches/sticks you used for your crystal tree? I just love the look!! Also just found you on Etsy for a potential request. :-)
Congratulations on an absolutely gorgeous wedding!!
Hi there! Yes, I would love to help you! The branches are willow spray painted black. See you on Etsy sista, if you have any other questions, feel free to ask, I'd love to help! Blessings for you BIG day!
Lacee,
I noticed a few girls had mentioned your stunning CL shoes. I am a wedding planner and have a bride that is desperate for a pair. We've tried all over the world, literally, and can't find them. I'm just curious when and where your purchased them, I'm beginning to believe these shoes don't exist anymore. :)
Hi Kailey, I found them online, when I purchased them they were all over, I noticed that I did find them much more in blue... maybe that would be an option for her. I hope she finds what she needs!!! Tell her to for sure by non skids for the bottom of the shoe... JUST IN CASE:)
Lacee. I really like your eye makeup. I am getting married in Colorado and would love to know if you hired someone. If so, who?
Hi Alicia!
My great friend Simone, who was also my bridesmaid did my make-up, she is fabulous. If you would like to email me at lacee@charliandcleo.com, I would be happy to get you her contact information!
:)
Hi Lacee,
What an amazing day you created! I am getting married this summer in Beaver Creek and would also love to know about your venue and your "make-up artist"! I saw your email address on the thread and tried emailing you but it bounced back.
Thanks so much in advance--I look forward to hearing from you.
Emily

WOW! Though I live in Colorado and am familiar with it's natural beauty, these photographs really bring it out. This wedding was a great balance between casual and formal.
Beautiful wedding!!! Did you do anything special to make the willow branches branch out? All the willow branches I have seen stick straight up! Thanks for any advice
Hi Carolyn! The willow we purchased from our florist, I know that you can purchase the winding willow from various wholesale floral locations, I hope that helps!
