We have a completely jam packed day of gorgeousness on SMP. The Jose Villa wedding that is coming up in a bit is almost too much pretty to bear…definitely one of his best and with a style that is definitely one of his most swoon worthy. But before we get to that, I wanted to share this gorgeous little wedding that one of our readers sent us. The bride and groom got ready at my second favorite hotel space for weddings, The Viceroy, which is always an INSANE backdrop for the most gorgeous pictures EVER.
The photographs were captured by the forever talented Amelia Lyon and the planning/coordination was done by Angel at Events of Love and Splendor…

Ummm…cutest bride in the world? Check. Most gorgeous wedding space ever? Check. Style that is literally bursting through each and every image. Check! The adorable bride, Nancy, has actually taken this obviously great day and used it as a launching pad for her very own event coordination biz called So Happy Together. And when you see the wedding unfold, you’ll understand why!
From Nancy, the lovely bride…
My husband and I were married at the Bel Air Presbyterian Church and held our reception at the outdoor courtyard of the Skirball Cultural Center, which we decorated with bumblebee lights and pink uplighting. We got ready and took our first-look pictures at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica, which we booked almost solely based on their gorgeous library.
We LOVE children and know so many that touch our lives deeply so we had my niece and nephew serve as the flower girl and ring bearer and had each of our 6 bridesmaids escorted into the ceremony processional by a young boy. We actually provided a separate room, games, crafts and nannies for the 30 plus kids who attended our wedding in order to ensure that their parents could enjoy the night filled with cheesy 80s love songs, signature cocktails, a photo booth, candy buffet and ugly dance contest.

My custom-made-to-rent wedding gown was blush pink and while I loved the short dress I changed into for the second half of our reception, it was really difficult for me to take that gown off! Having a locket with my father’s picture on my bouquet was very important and special for me as well. Our favors were a donation to the American Cancer Society in his memory and we truly felt his presence on that day.
More to come in just a bit!

OMG- I love this wedding! Even thoough we got a sneak peak, I can already see its gorgeousness! I love her headpiece, as well as her gown! Stunning! It's not something I would wear (I am only 5ft.), buut I love it; such a clean and glam wedding. The bride is beautiful, and looks so kind-hearted! I love the dog too! LOL
O-M-G!!!! LOVE this wedding!!!! I actually just featured the library from the Viceroy Hotel on my blog-it is gorgeous! Who is the designer(s) of the dresses and shoes?
Made-to-rent wedding gown? I must know more.

How stunning!! I love that they made a donation to the ACS as favors. That's a terrific trend I FULLY support. Bravo!!
OMG!!! This wedding is to die for beautiful! From the stunning bride, to that dress, the shoes, and her hair piece. I would love more details on all :) Cheers!
thank you so much for featuring this wedding, abby!! :) working with nancy & eddie was such a delight. xoxo
Cant wait to hear more info regarding the rented dress! Beautiful wedding!
This is breathtaking. I love how it seems luxurious without being over-the-top.
This is a really odd question, but I'm curious about which font or calligrapher is used for the "love grows" image between the rings. It's exactly what I've been looking for to use with my invitations!
Would you mind sharing where your hairpiece came from? I love love love it! Thanks!
Everything about this wedding is absolutely gorgeous. The photography is excellent as well.
Hey girls! Working on getting all of the details for you:)
Can you elaborate on the "made to rent" wedding gown? maybe a link? This sounds very interesting......
"cheesy 80s love songs, signature cocktails, a photo booth, candy buffet and ugly dance contest."
LOVE. IT!
Hi ladies! Thank you x infinity for your sweetest comments! I will be walking on cloud nine all day!
Sorry for the delay in answering your questions... here you go!
The Dress: I fell in love with a monique lhuillier gown, but it was WAY over my budget, so I asked the designer/owner at Tomato wedding if she might be able to make something similar for me and she did a really great job. I am only 5'4" and didn't think I could pull off the poofy gown, but that is the beauty of having something custom made, everything is proportioned for your size. I spent under $3000 for my gown (unlimited fittings), the short reception dress and sash (that many people mistake for a flower girl dress) and all my jewelry and the floral head piece. It would have been about $1000 more to keep the dress, but I didn't want to deal with dry cleaning and storage costs, so I rented my gown and she can now rent it out to others! She is located in Korea-town in Los Angeles and they do not have a website. However, you can reach her at 323.733.0105. I have already sent over 10 other brides her way and they are all very happy with their experience. If you need any help contacting her (Korean is her primary language) feel free to let me know and I can definitely help out! just a note - I ordered my dress two years ago (we had a long engagement) so the prices may have gone up just a bit... but she also has already-made gowns ready to rent. And they are gorgeous!! I wrote a blog post that shares more here http://tinyurl.com/yl8de9z
The Font: Not a silly question at all! I spent many nights looking for the perfect font! ;) we used a font called Satisfaction for "Love grows" and the image is actually something we screen printed onto envelopes that held our donation to ACS favor announcement. We also screen printed all of our invitations and program booklets.
The Flower Girl Dress: The dress on my niece is the "Alison" flower girl dress from JCrew. However, we did some serious alterations to the dress to make it a style that fits her personality and small frame. Vivian at Tomato weddings helped with this as well. I bought a brooch to place on the bow and we made a modified bubble hem with lots of tulle peeking out, in order to match my reception dress.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks, again! xoxo!
Nancy, where did you get your shoes?
Loved this wedding by the Lyons! Absolutely adore the image of the bride and flower girl! So fun!!!!
Just realized that the tiny url isn't working very well. Perhaps try this? http://sohappyberries.blogspot.com/2009/07/dress-tomato-weddings-los-angeles.html
The shoes are from Giuseppe Zanotti and I explain a bit more in the comments section of part II. :) Thanks for asking!
I was also wondering where you got your hairpiece from? Thanks!
Amelia and Justin did such a fantastic job! Everything was seriously perfection!!! :)
My hair piece was also provided by Tomato weddings. All of my accessories, minus the shoes, were a part of my package. Vivian actually gifted the flower hair piece to me because I was so in love with it... so I don't know if she has another one, but I am sure she has something similar! If not, contact me, and maybe we can figure out how to make it your "something borrowed" if you live in the So. Cali. area! ;)
This was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever been to. Loved everything about it~ Nancy, you are SO doing my wedding. Hahhaa...
<3
she IS the sweetest and cutest bride EVER! :)

The most beautiful wedding ever! The bride is my sister, but I have to say, she put so much thought and preparation into the wedding that it turned out to be THE perfect day. She made sure that all of her guests, vendors and wedding party were comfortable and had a blast. Not even the smallest detail was overlooked. It had to be the best wedding I have ever been to. I am willing to even hire her for my future wedding =).
That gown is to die for. Beautiful. Love the details
I'm glad I got here after the dress question was answered, that dress is seriously gorgeous ! I would probably say guess it's over 20k.... Love the reception dress too ! So different and unique !
OMG, this was absolutely beautiful. Incredible style, grace, love, there aren't enough words to describe how wonderful what these photos have captured.
I knew this dress looked familiar! I tried a very similar Monique Lhuillier dress, but the back was not as elaborate. Beautiful!
i am in love with this sneak peek. her dress is to DIE for!!
the dude was there and had a fun time.
