Sometimes I see really pretty weddings and although they are easy on the eyes, they are hard to fall in love with. It’s the JOY behind the images that really gets me. The pure and total joy that the bride and groom exude in each and every picture. Whether the wedding is high style and full glam, or vintage and a bit rustic…it will never be really beautiful unless you can truly feel the emotions. Which is exactly why I heart this wedding so very much.

From the adorable bride, Nancy…
My husband and I have been friends for over 10 years and were married the day before our 7 year dating anniversary. If there is one thing we learned, it was that through all those years, our love was sustained, nurtured and strengthened by our friends and family and we couldn’t wait to continue to grow that love by finally uniting in marriage and starting a family of our own. So, the loose “theme” for our wedding was Love Grows and we aimed to create a romantic garden-like wedding that exuded a warm, approachable elegance. We felt that a color scheme of blush pink and gold with hints of green would help set the mood.
We planned for a year and a half and worked on a strict budget that splurged on a few priorities like photography and lighting, while otherwise pulling tight the purse strings to bring our overall budget well under our local average. This was largely achieved by countless nights of DIY-ing anything and everything that could be DIY-ed, with the help of family and friends, of course. My favorite projects have to include the invitations, programs and hand-made paper flowers that served as escort cards. I think all of these personal touches really helped to create the casual feel we wanted to achieve.

While we did a lot of the preparing, crafting and planning ourselves, I wanted to turn everything over to someone else on the day-of so that we could completely enjoy every moment. Angel and Anna from Events of Love and Splendor went above and beyond to make sure that all our personalized details were in place and that our wedding day matched everything we had envisioned and hoped for. They inspired me to start my own wedding coordination company, So Happi Together, and I am already working with 6 other lovely brides! The best part is that I get to live vicariously through them and continue working on creating special, personal moments for weddings. Planning with my husband was so much fun and really a joint effort. I think I am now addicted!

I love the shoes too.

Hello again, ladies!
My shoes are Giuseppe Zanotti's and they were my first wedding purchase - even before the gown or venue choice! ;) They carry that style all the time but the color was being discontinued so it was on sale for 50% off. I have really small feet so the only pair they had left in my size was the sample, so I received another 20%, after which they found a new pair in my size in the back! So, you can understand why I made the purchase before anything else. woot!
The image above is actually of our programs. We made an accordion-style program booklet and the covers and ribbon matched our invites, which you can see here: http://tinyurl.com/yj4rxlc
We very loosely based our design off some flowers I had seen before in a magazine and my husband did the rest. If there is something specific you would like sent your way, we have it all still saved on my computer, so it would be very simple to send you the designs we made, if you like.
Please just contact me and let me know!
Style Me Pretty and the online community of brides helped me so much in the process of wedding planning that I feel it is necessary to "give back" in any way possible. If there is something I can do to help your process, please do not hesitate to let me know!
Love the shot with the bride's back. so unique and pretty ! I'm on my way to check out the first post ( yes, I know, I'm ready this backwards.. but I'm glad there are two posts, cuz I can't get enough of this pretty wedding !)
What a totally delightful wedding, AND WHAT A SWEET BRIDE! How kind, to offer your own wedding stationary designs to other brides-to-be - this is how the world of weddings should operate. Hooray for the anti-bridezilla, hooray for this wedding (which is just so girlie and gorgeous, in a wonderfully understated way) and HOORAY for Style Me Pretty, my most favourite web celebration of everything 'I Do!' related!
Every aspect of this wedding radiates elegance.
