Giveaway: Crate and Barrel
It’s been a while since we did one of our Crate and Barrel giveaways. It wasn’t intentional really. We just thought you guys needed a break from our little obsession. Plus, now that we are back with a FAB prize to gift, we’re thinking that the feature will feel all sparkly and new!
Here are our latest Crate and Barrel Favorites…
1. Couture Flatware – Umm, these just might be the perfect pieces of everyday flatware. They are modern, without being too stiff. They are timeless, without being too stuffy. Perfect is the only word that seems to fit.
2. Edge Wine Glasses – I became completely obsessed with these little beauties after watching an episode of Flipping Out, where Jeff was going nuts over them. They are flawless in my opinion and in fact, I am going out to scoop up a set for myself when I have a free weekend!
3. Vienna Candleholders -Thought these gorgeous candle holders went beautifully with our “tablescape” above. They are a little bit contemporary, a little bit traditional, perfect for a forever chic look.
4. Aspen Dinnerware – I have to admit. I am a white plate junkie. I just think that everyone should have a set of good white everyday dinnerware. Aside from the fact that food looks it’s best on white dinnerware, it’s also perfect for layering in different linens, chargers and dessert plates. The perfect canvas if you will.

I love all Crate and Barrel's clean square of white porcelain serving dishes. I registered for multiple serving dishes all in different sizes, but all white. By getting all white, they'll match for any party theme and can be dressed up for a family holiday party or down for a casual football gathering.

I'm so infatuated with all things home... planning our registry has deemed my future husband to be a very VERY patient man.
I have the same question as Melanie -- if we are already registered at Crate & Barrel, do we miss out on the $4,000 giveaway?
I'm stoked on the Portland Beer Glasses, which we just added to our registry.
Loving the Wink Appetizer Plate, too. It's a fun, unusual shape, but the basic white means it's still versatile.

1. Cosmic Bottle Stoppers....I love the idea of a crisp, clean palate of stainless steel barware accented with just a pop of color. These stoppers are perfect for a fun twist!
2. Banana Leaf Mirror set......mirrors do wonders for opening up a room. And these are quite unique. I would hang them in our bedroom.
3. Takashi Table Runner..... a runner sets the tone for a beautiful table. Pair this with a set of white dinnerware, and you're set for a special meal.
4. Couture flatware.....we actually registered for these and did not receive them. We chose this set because we saw it on display and fell in love with the modern yet soft look of these utensils. These would be perfect with our other crate and barrel faves.

Hmm ... okay, I can do this. Focus, focus!
My four current favorites would have to be:
1) Marimekko Lehtimaja bed linens in teal -- a clean, crisp graphic in a color that is rich and refreshing at the same time. These sheets would make me want to go to bed, but also to get up in the morning, so I could make the bed and admire the pops of color against the field of a bright white duvet.
2) the trough-shaped Oak Rectangular Bowl -- I can see this filled with fruit, with river stones, with small candles, or even as a decadent nut bowl at a party, piled with nuts in the shell and a nutcracker peeking out at each end.
3) the Henley Floor Pillow in citron -- I love when seating includes different levels at a party: a couch, a low chair, and even the floor. With these, people could pull up to a coffee table and reach the snacks in comfort, without having to lean over and kink their backs. Plus, a pop of lemon-lime color is perfect for a cocktail party.
4) the white tree-bark textured Birch Plates -- I love the mix of classic white with the modern, unexpected wood grain pattern. I would use these all the time: for appetizers, for small salads, for toast in the morning. I can especially see eating desserts off of these; a deep chocolate color would complement the wood grain, so for the sake of style, I would make this combo happen. Over and over again.
Can you tell that I'm obsessed with saturated greens right now (some colors in my upcoming wedding), and with wood and wood-grained objects? If I could pile all of these things into my bed -- made with the Marimekko sheets, of course -- and take a nap with them, I would!

I, too, LOVE white plates, but only with a perfectly done up table top!
The large Slate Cheese boards make for dark and stormy, wintery placemats. Accent those with clusters of the Arden candleholders in various sizes. The Karin red wine glasses are round and warming (all the better to swirl your wine with). Add the Orange Cotton napkins for a pop of color, topping off the warmest of celebrations on the coldest winter night.
I love red, so I adore when the holidays come around as I can find red everywhere!
1. Laurie Cake Pedestal - I have this huge thing for cake pedestals right now and I love the little red loop-de-loop lining the edge of this.
2. The Merimekko Lumimarja tablecloth's pattern adds a texture, while the neutral tones mean red accents will just POP!

1) Large Bistro Bowls - I too am a white-dish junkie! Not only does food look amazing displayed on a clean white backdrop, but you can serve just about anything in these wonderful bowls! From a crisp arugula and goat cheese salad to a big bowl of Cheerios, these bowls get the job done!
2) Owen Decanter - the straight lines and subtle boldness of this handsome decanter provide a modern slant with the presence of a family heirloom. I would happily drink anything poured out of this puppy.
3) Piper Candle holders - these hand-blown candle holders add a clean, modern touch to any space. I can imagine a collection of eight or ten of them proudly displayed in the middle of my dining room table.
4) Carmen Pillow - This amusing pillow begs to be touched. I love how the fabric playfully pops off the face of the pillow in all different directions. Fabulous!

It’s SO hard to select my four favorite Crate & Barrel products, but since I always have my eye on things that are timeless, functional, yet fun, these certainly rise to the top of my list of C&B faves!
1.) Cuisinart Griddler
We compared many different Panini presses and griddles before selecting the Cuisinart Griddler. Its best feature is that the plates can be easily removed for cleaning, and they are dishwasher safe! We can’t wait to use our Griddler for pancakes and eggs in the morning, and grilled cheese in the afternoon (my all-time favorite!). This will no doubt be a great addition to our kitchen, and also give us a fun way to spice up everyday dishes!
2.) Cuisine Dinnerware
I love the unexpected mix and match shapes of the Cuisine dishes! We chose 12” square plates and paired them with the 8.25” round coupe plate. They look so great stacked on top of one another. We also couldn’t resist adding the 7.5” square plate to our collection, as it is the perfect size to serve a beautiful dessert, or for appetizers. I love that the dishes are durable, yet lend a soft look to the table, and the Cuisine serving pieces are a nice compliment. I also love the white color, which is so timeless and versatile, and is just waiting to be paired with bright red chargers during the holidays, or pastel serving pieces in the spring!
3.) Otis Glasses
