Today we’re featuring Clementine & Jonathan’s beautiful Toronto wedding from this past July!

We’ll let Clementine tell their story …
We were married on July 26th 2009, in the heart of Toronto. Although we had really turbulent weather the whole day, our day was still PERFECT! The sun came out every time I would have to step outside, it was truly magical!

My husband and I are from different cultures and so we decided that the wedding should incorporate and blend the eastern and western traditions. We are both modern and traditional at the same time. So we had our ceremony at a gorgeous church housed with an ever impressive pipe organ. I wore a Jim Hjelm ivory silk satin trumpet gown with alencon lace detail. For the reception, we opted for a hipper downtown hotel reception where we had our Chinese tea ceremony, followed by a western cocktail, a Chinese dinner banquet and a dessert buffet to die for. In the evening, I changed into a gorgeous lace Chinese wedding cheongsam and Jon changed up his white orchid boutonniere to a red rose to match me!

I’m all about simple elegance so I chose ivory and silver as the base colour but injected bright fuchsia and green colors as accents, since it’s a summer wedding after all! I chose to use hydrangeas and orchids as my main flowers.

I’m an architect, so naturally I LOVE DIY projects. I made pretty much all my wedding stationery. Ceremony programs, menus, table numbers, escort cards, the escort card board, and even wish cards to go with the photo guest book. The polaroids for the photo guest book was especially successful!

Our congratulations to Clementine and Jonathon!

Our thanks to Jess and Vanessa at Boyfriend/Girlfriend photography for these stunning photos.

Very beautiful. Love the delicateness with the pop of strong color.
Beautiful bride, beautiful dresses, beautiful church, beautiful flowers - it's all gorgeous but I nearly fell off my chair (which would be embarrassing at work) when I saw the stationery!
Would love to know more about how you made it, Clementine!
I love this wedding! Where did the silver chair rhinestone piece come from?
Thanks everyone...!
Jx: For the stationary, I just went out and bought a big pack of blank card stock at Staples for $8 and designed away! I used photoshop and illustrator to do the rest. :) It was very budget friendly.
Megan: I rented the rhinestone buckle at my linen vendor. They really added to the over decor, i highly recommend it! ;)
Where can I find those shoes?! They are super cute and what I'm looking for. I think it says Guess on them, but I can't find them anywhere.
Clementine - who did you use for your linens? I'm from Toronto and get married next Spring and LOOOOOVE the buckle!
Fantatic pictures! Toronto really is a beautiful city to get married in!
where are the candles by the cakes from? are the silver and sparkly?
The candles are indeed silver and sparkly! I got them from the dollar store....hehe... 2 for $1!!
This wedding is gorgeous. Where are those fantastic earrings from?? I am also looking for some pearl beauties similar to them.
Clementine, gorgeous wedding! Where did you get your bridesmaids' dresses? They're beautiful!
Amanda...unfortunately i don't know where the earrings are from....my sister gave them to me as a gift!
Angela: We bought the bridesmaid dresses off the rack at Want Boutique in Toronto. They don't really specialize in bridesmaid dresses, these were just party dresses! :)
All in one. you have done an excellent job by adding all these things in one page. These are very different and seems very natural.
Beautiful wedding and Jess and Vanessa's photography showcases everything so perfectly! Well done!

I love your dress. What Jim Hjelm dress is it? I been searching for a dress like yours.
I would really appreciate it. :)
Love the wedding!
Hi Jackie, Thanks!
The dress is JH8862. http://www.jlmcouture.com/Jim-Hjelm/Bridal/Additional/Style-8862
If i can say so myself...it is indeed a gorgeous dress. The pictures don't even do it justice!
Good luck with your dress hunt! ;)
Clementine, your wedding looked absolutely beautiful! I am a Toronto bride and would really appreciate if you could divulge the name of the church and reception venue you used. Did you have a good experience with them?
Thanks very much, and congrats!
Hi Steph! Thank you for your kind words. :) My ceremony was at Grace Church-on-the-Hill and reception was at The Metropolitan Hotel. I had a great experience with both places. The church has its own wedding coordinator and so does the hotel, so i didn't even need to hire a wedding planner! Good luck and have fun planning your wedding! ;)
Hi Clementine, your wedding looked so beautiful. I've been looking for a Cheongsam for my wedding this fall and I love the detailing on yours. If you don't mind me asking, was it custom made? Or where did you get it from?
Thanks Nancy~! My Cheongsam was indeed custom made. :) I actually shopped for an off-the-rack dress, but many of them were not long enough to fit me. So in the end, i HAD to get one made. Send me your email if you want more info...good luck finding your dress and congratulations!
Hi Clementine,
You look really pretty on your cheongsam, will you please let me know where you get it in toronto? Many thanks.
Queenie
Hello, where did you get your cheongsam made?
I too would love to know where you had your cheongsam made. In the market to get one custom made and yours looked like it was a good quality.
