Navy Blue and Yellow Wedding by Cori Cook

September 29th. 2009 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 21 comments

We have so much wedding goodness coming up on SMP today…starting with this incredibly charming navy blue and yellow affair. This particular color palette has been a huge hit in the past (remember Laura and Brad’s amazing wedding?) so I wanted to pass along this little gem with the hopes that you would find lots of steal-worthy ideas that you could apply to your own big day.

The wedding took place at the Tapestry House in Ft. Collins, Colorado and was sent to us by Cori Cook who decked the place out in some of the most charming flowers a girl could want. Totally approachable, sweet and utterly chic. Love that.

Jenn and Adam’s Wedding was an absolute blast to work on.  Not only are they amazing people, but they just had so much fun with their wedding.  Jenn’s wedding colors were navy, white, and yellow.  We used lemons, billy balls, roses, hydrangea, and orchids as signature flowers for her wedding, while also incorporating a navy and white striped ribbon where ever we could.   She did an amazing job of stylizing her wedding with DIY ideas!

We used her grandmother’s antique earrings as brooches on her bridal bouquet.  To top it off, Jenn baked each of her vendors cookies and wrote thank you notes to each of us!  How thoughtful!

The photographer behind these gorgeous images is Becky Young, who also happened to fall head over heels for this wedding. Becky’s blog is choc-a-block full of fun details that we haven’t shown here, as well as a quick behind the scenes take on the day. Lovely, all together lovely.

Thank you so much, Cori, for sending this little chunk of heaven our way. The bride and groom are literally glowing with a joy that is completely contageous. We have so much more eye candy on the way today!

I actually found my dress at a tiny bridal boutique in Seattle called I DO Bridal. I fell in love with the dress and it's detailing because I had never seen anything like it before. So glad people like it! : )

    Jenn-
I've called the shop and they have the sample available to sell, but won't take any photos for me :( I'm scared to make that kind of commitment over email/without seeing more detail. Would you be able to send me some photos of your dress? Was it comfortable? Anything you can share would be appreciated. I LOVE it! Thank you in advance!

Now I love this dress two times over! Abby posted another bride who wore the same dress. It always looks fantastic: http://www.stylemepretty.com/2008/12/16/real-wedding-nicole-grant-ii/ Or just search Nicole & Grant. Nicole also purchased her dress at I Do. The dress is by Jaquelin Bridal.

    Marci-

I attempted to send you an email two nights ago but it didn't go through. I'm thinking the pictures of the dress that I am trying to send you are too big. Is there a certain part of the dress you are really interested in seeing??? If not, I will try to send you a couple different emails in order to get you some pics. Let me know : )

    Jenn,

I love your ideas! I am using the same colors for my May 2010 wedding. What did you use for favors?

    Thanks :)

  18. Jenn says:

    Hi Erin!

My maid of honor and I found some REALLY cute glass jars from World Market that had a lid that closed with a latch. We filled them with bright yellow colored M&M's, and then tied navy ribbon around them and attached a little piece of circular cardstock with our initials and wedding date on them. If you send me your email address, I'd be happy to send you a pic! I'm really glad you liked my wedding! Congrats on your upcoming nuptials, and "yay" for Navy and Yellow!!!

    Thanks again!!

    Jenn,

Your wedding is beautiful!! I just LOVE everything about it. One quick question, where did you find your bridesmaid dresses?? They are so simple and elegant, just the style I've been looking for for my wedding. Gorgeous!

    Thanks!!
    Annabelle

  21. Jenn says:

    Hi Annabelle,

The bridesmaid dresses are from JCrew. They fit the girls amazingly and were fantastic quality. My girls were soooo excited that the dress had pockets because they were able to carry around lip gloss, tissues and even their camera's without anyone noticing. They were perfect! Thanks for asking : )

    Jenn
