We’ve featured several Hindu weddings recently on Style Me Pretty & The Little Black Book Blog. The vibrancy, the traditions, all of the gorgeous aspects that encompass the ceremonies! And so today’s featured story … a highlight film of Namrata & Adam’s wedding from Artifact Documentaries is one more perfect example of the blending of traditions in our wonderful wedding world!
I got a serious lump in my throat within the first few moments of the film! By the end, outright tears! First, a few Super 8mm film still-shots grabbed from the amazing cinematographers at Artifact Documentaries …

*Remember that for the best playback experience, start the film and then press “pause” for just a bit. The film will load in the background (as you check out Artifact Documentaries!) and then come back and play. This is SUCH a joyous and yet, tearful celebration!
Our most sincere congratulations to Namrata & Adam!
And just one more quick note about Artifact Documentaries … in 2004, Kristen & Jeff Turick decided that the standards for wedding videos needed to be raised to the level of artful cinematography. The idea of a wedding film shouldn’t be at the end of the list ~ but uppermost on the list! Kristen and Jeff shoot both classic Super 8mm film and widescreen digital video. On their website they say, “There’s just nothing like the vintage beauty of 8mm film, and the gentle tickety-tickety-tick of the old-style camera, blended at just the right moments with the richness of today’s digital video to make you feel that you’re experiencing a genuine part of history…”
Thank you, Kristen and Jeff for sharing Namrata and Adam’s beautiful wedding celebration with all of us!

I loved how they mixed the different moments together
now that's filmmaking!
Artifact Documentaries does amazing work!
Kristen is one of the best story tellers in the industry. It's only fitting that her work be showcased in SMP. That's filmmaking indeed!
Thank you all for the lovely comments! And thank you to SMP for showcasing this amazing wedding!
Were they speaking Spanish at one point? Hay una mujer que dijo, "Tranquila"...Perhaps Adam's family is Spanish-speaking? I love it!!! This just made my day
Every time see Kristen's work I am moved. I'm so happy to see her featured on one of my favorite blogs!
Great work. Bravo!
Cidra, No Spanish as far as I know..
Thanks everyone!
Unbelievable! Truly breathtaking. I can only imagine how valuable this will be to their future children and grandchildren. What an amazing story teller you are Kristen. Great work!
oh my gosh... how did you do that!! It's unreal! What seamless storytelling - I love the mix of old and new and the music worked in perfect. You rock!
Oh, what a great wedding! Definitely, No SPANISH! The crying part made me cry. I missed my daddy when I saw the father of bride crying. Made sense how traditional Indian wedding reception took place the next day or later, that way all the make up mess from crying after wedding is taken care of before the reception. ;-)
