Sarishni,

Hi there! I actually made my veil out of sari like material that I tracked down in the fabric district in NYC. I put it together mostly and then my fabulous seamstress made it real for me (she added it in as a special gift) and delivered it when she handed off my dresses with all their final alterations! I would start by finding the material you love and then talk with your alterations person or a friend who knows how to sew and see if they can help you out. I haven't seen any colored veils already created and on the market that I like.

Hope that is helpful. Good luck!!

Best,
Kristi

Hi there! Thanks for your compliments!

The design you are referring to is actually our save the date. My husband and I are both creative directors and designers so this is our original design. We wanted something that channeled Indian culture and color but was contemporary and felt like it would set the stage for an NYC loft party. We also wanted a light, fun feeling. We created the characters and the design together, which was super fun. We do branding for companies for a living so we approached this as a branding project, creating a full suite of save the dates, invites, menus, posters, programs, mirror and window graphics etc. Basically we created a tool kit of graphic elements and colors that we could use in many different ways depending on the usage and needs... it makes everything hold together while still allowing each piece to have it's own character.

I'm actually hoping to move my business more into overall event design which would include something as simple as the invites and range all the way to the overall design and decor of the event(s). My design website is monkeywhat.com which currently does not feature any invites or events but has a ton of design projects to view. If you are interested in speaking more about our new design services, please feel free to contact me at play@monkeywhat.com and I'd be happy to tell you more about the process etc.

Good luck and have a ball with all the planning!

All the best,
Kristi

Hi Kristi! I love the 2nd picture above (the one with the two rings and what looks like an invitation underneath the rings) and I'm wondering if that was actually your invitation? Or a save-the-date card? It is just adorable! Where did you get your cards from? Thanks!

Hey Kristi, where did you get your veil from? I am trying to incorporate a burgundy veil into my ivory dress but am having trouble finding it using google.

Thanks! And your wedding looked amazing!

BRAVO to the bride and groom for stepping so far out of the "wedding" box. I LOVE the diversity and how they were able to mesh their cultures so stylishly!
