Sweet, Eclectic Wedding By Orchard Cove, III

I knew that you guys would really heart this wedding that Amanda over at Orchard Cove Photography sent us. It’s easy, breezy gorgeousness…the kind of pretty that we LOVE here on SMP. You can see the joy in every image, you can feel the warmth, the love, the pure happiness in the couple. And yet, it’s undeniably stylish, filled with perfect little details and a genius color palette.

From the bride…

I really loved when we got introduced as a couple at the beginning of the reception (even if our name was incorrect :-) Our first dance was really special and I think that will stand out forever. The biggest surprise, though, was the adorable figurines my parents made of us when we were children to put on the cake table. I loved how they put a little veil on me!

Kevin’s family has a tradition of singing “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” by Meatloaf during the reception. The guys stand on one side and sing the guy parts and the girls on the other singing the girl parts. The bride sits on a chair in the middle of the circle and the groom stands singing to her. Interesting tradition, I know. But, it was hilarious!

Lots more goodness coming up in just a bit!

  2. Katie Jo says:

I absolutley love the fabric! Please send us details of where we can find that!!!!

    My same colors!!!

I think that is Amy Butler fabric. I'll defer to the bride of course, but I'm fairly certain it is an Amy Butler print.

  4. Laura says:

The fabric is Floating Buds from Amy Butler's Midwest Modern line. I'm using it for my wedding too, but in a different color scheme!

  5. Alexandra (bride) says:

Yes....It is Amy Butler. So glad you liked it!

If the bride sees this - what were your favors? I'd really like to do something related to our table and the dining experience, but haven't found or come up with an idea that really grabbed me yet. These look sort of like rolled napkins, so I'm curious! Thanks for sharing your beautiful day.

I love this wedding- especially the table signs. White Face Mountain is one of the prettiest places I've been!

  8. Heather says:

What about the dress? Do tell. :)

  9. Hi Keli,

Alex's favors were reusable tote bags with their wedding logo on them.

The dress was J. Crew as were many of her accessories, the bridesmaid's dresses, and the little girl's white dress.

    Take care,

    Amanda

Did the bride have two dresses? I love the simple low V dress worn in the ceremony but there is a pic in this post of a straight cut strapless dress? I've known brides to have a ceremony dress and a reception dress, just wondering if that was the case here. Or perhaps the strapless dress was from a rehersal dinner? And someone needs to explain the cutouts infront of the cake.... I don't get it?

  11. Amanda,

The strapless white dress was the dress Alex got ready in which adorned with a fabulous pink flower - I believe both were from J. Crew. For the wedding and reception she just wore the one dress from J. Crew....with the v cut.

The cutouts in front of the cake were photos of Kevin & Alex from childhood. Her Mom made them as a surprise and put a top hat on Kevin and attached a veil to Alex....it was very sweet!

    Take care!

    Amanda

  12. Love the sweet, simple tablesettings...
