I hope everyone had a long and lazy weekend! Today, we have the most fun, mosty girly, most adorable inspiration you could ever want. And although I know that this is a wedding blog through and through, the girl behind the blog (me) is now a mommy who LOVES to throw a great party. So this morning, I thought that I would share my daughter’s first birthday party that was inspired totally from details we’ve done right here on SMP.
Oh and the best news ever? Cookie Magazine’s blog Nesting is running a FULL feature on the party right here…complete with TONS of details and behind the scenes dirt!

Let me preface by admitting that I am well aware that this is WAY over the top for a first birthday. We had pony rides, a petting zoo, perfect pink cupcakes that are wedding worthy, paper poms, 3 foot balloons, the works. BUT, I figure we have years and years of sponge bob and princess parties so this one…was all me. Plus, I figured it could inspire a few awesome bridal showers or wedding details so that is how I justified it in my head.

A few of the fabulous vendors that helped me…first and foremost, Studio Foto. I am a little bit in love with Paul and Krystal who have now photographed the family a whopping three times. They are AMAZING and I could gush and gush and gush about their mad skills.
I found the HUGE balloons at the Balloon Place, the cupcakes at Sweet of Boston and the ADORABLE banners that literally MADE the decor perfect at Daisy and Dots on Etsy. Oh and of course, Pom Love stepped in with some seriously adorable pink poms!
We have lots more to come!! And later, the Hostess Blog is doing a DIY project on some of our favors that would be perfect for any party.

I love the party decor! I'm definitely going to be using the poms and some of these ideas for a bridal shower!
Thanks girls! hayley...the bubbles were a DIY project. Jennifer over at The Hostess Blog is going to be doing a full feature on them later today complete with printable templates:)
Just came across your blog while looking for wedding blogs to promote---we love the birthday party! And then scrolled down to the bird wedding, which is equally spiffing! We're mentioning you on our blog for the Sheffield School of Interior Design (we have a course in Wedding and Event Planning). Thanks for making the world more beautiful.
Happy b-day to your adorable daughter. I'm sure when she is older and take a look at these pictures, she will see how lucky she is to have such an amazing b-day party and all the loves from you and your husband!
Oh. My. Gosh. This is wonderful!!!!! Once wedding planning over and a baby is here, it's fun to plan parties like this isn't it? Oh, I wish you would start a baby blog. This party is fabulous. We did something low key for my daughter's first birthday, but hoping to have a bigger bash this year. Unfortunately, her big day is 6 days before Christmas, so it makes it harder to plan something. Lucky you for having a summer birthday!!!
I just love everything about this. Can't wait to see more!
Happy Birthday to your little one! You are definitely a girl after my own heart ;) LOVE all the details and can hardly wait for the rest! Congrats on the features too! xoxo
I LOVE those bubble tins, it took me a minute to realize what they were, but wow so flippin cute!
happy birthday, audrey!
abby - did you order the balloons online and then just take them somewhere local to get blown up? did the people there have any worries about how much to inflate them, etc?
thanks!
This is just so adorable! Congrats on the first birthday!
I just loved the giant balloons. It goes PERFECT with our balloon post that we have up today!

Thank you so much for sharing this. The birthday party has elements that can be carried over not only to weddings but baby showers as well. It's very difficult to find non-cheesy ideas for showers! Thanks again :)

What a BEAUTIFUL party! I absolutely adore the details--like the bubbles, and the printed up signs and tags for everything! All the pink--just precious. I couldn't agree more that a first birthday allows you to plan the party YOU want! I plan classic parties for young children. I am so inspired by the weddings on your blog, thank you for sharing your creativity with us all! I think you will see that you still can have a very, very stylish party for your little girl as she grows older...check out my Madeline Birthday Party I just did, I think you will adore it. www.katelandersevents.blogspot.com.
