Southern Soiree by Liz Banfield and Tara Guerard, III

Anything that Tara Guerard gets her hands on is instantly stunning. Tara is hands down one of the most talented wedding designers that has ever lived and her events are always a perfect mix of details, of sophistication, of pure gorgeousness. This one, photographed by the always incredible Liz Banfield, is just that and so much more!

The gorgeous cake was designed by one of our favorite Little Black Book members, Jim Smeal and was inspired by the bride’s ridiculously lovely Vera Wang gown. I love that. Here are a few more details that Liz sent us…

After a few pictures at the church with family, the couple was whisked off to the Carolina Yacht Club, only two blocks away, for a Southern Style reception, with loads of food stations including a full sushi bar.  In honor of their new home together in New Orleans, the bride and groom were announced into the party with the sounds of River City Dixieland Jazz Band.

And at the end of the night the guests released hundreds of white balloons in the bride’s sister’s memory as they ushered the bride and groom to the old fashioned London cab that took the couple to their hotel.

Absolutely, positively gorgeous. And, if you haven’t had enough yet…head on over to the Style Circle where I am blogging about the adorable guest book idea and the couple’s oh-so-cute favor packaging!

Lovely wedding, but; I have to say that it was very disappointing to learn that they released hundreds of balloons - this is really not very environmentally conscious considering the danger to birds and other animals.

I know, I hesitated on whether to put that part up. I know that it's REALLY awful for the environment, so it's a bummer that they didn't choose something else. But the sentiment was lovely.

    Who made the bridesmaids dresses?

  10. kRISTIN says:

I actually didn't see that it was in honor of sisters memory until now. I do agree that it was a beautiful sentiment- still wish it wasn't balloons; but I like the symbolism involved. Will have to think up a better alternative with the same impact.
