I have this secret wish to start a home and party blog. Something like SMP that focuses on great parties, great home design, all of the fabulousness that comes after I Do. But, I am seriously lacking in time and manpower so for now, I thought it might be fun to expand the wedding repertoire to showers and other fun wedding oriented parties!
Here is an absolutely adorable, totally preppy, completely girly shower that Amber Karson (out of D.C.) recently designed…

I am such a firm believe that one girl’s rehearsal dinner/shower/brunch/fill-in-the-party-blank is another girl’s wedding, as it’s always all in the details. From the color palette, the sweet centerpieces, the fun little accents…every part of this shower is totally steal worthy.

Oh and Amber actually sells those cute melamine plates which completely MAKE the look. LOVE!

I would love to see more shower pictures.... my cousin was just asking if I read any blogs that featured showers (she's doing mine Labor Day Weekend). And so many brides turn into shower hostesses after our own weddings!
If there were a home and party blog by Abby I'd be in heaven! Love the belt buckles in the table settings above!
does anybody know where that plastic drink tray / holder is from? i fee like i've seen it before on some hostess / home blog - but can't remember - and i just think i have to have one!
I found ones on here as I was googling lucite trays after I saw this - paper is something you can swap in and out, SO cool! Dabneylee at home - http://www.dabneyleeathome.com/catalog.php?category=1
So cute! The personalized tray and coasters are also from Preppy Plates. Amber sells these too. www.amberkarsonevents.com
Beautiful! I love the belt as the napkin ring holder, it is so perfectly preppy. I think that navy and pink work so well together, when done right like this party!
As a former Washington resident, it's so wonderful to see the tiny little courtyard backyards going to such beautiful uses! A lot of Washingtonians are forced to entertain inside because of tiny specs of lawns but this is perfect!
Love this. The colors are gorgeous :-)
I love this and just sent to my mother and sisters since I am a new bride-to-be. This is very exciting and if you want help starting a party/home blog, count me in. I even live in Boston! I eat, sleep and breathe these things!
Incredibly well put-together shower! And I echo the sentiments above... bring on the SMP Party Blog! If you need assistance, even on a volunteer-base... you have a slew of people willing to pitch in-- starting with us! ;)
You can get similar plates from laplates.com, and they have a ton of other customizable tableware and fun accessories.
So beyond cute ! I loved the napkin fold with the ribbon/buckle action ! Very cute !

What a gorgeous shower! Love the color combo and all the details!
I love the ribbon belts! Did the host make them herself or did she buy them? If she bought them, where are the from? Such a cut idea!
love pink and navy. those plates are really cool, where do you find something like that?
Thanks everyone for the wonderful feedback on my event! I'm so excited to be featured here on SMP. To answer some of your questions... For the ribbon napkin rings I worked with a great vendor I found on Etsy (Preppy in Pink) for the custom project. I'm so excited to feature the Preppy Plates line which includes the plates, lucite trays (with removable inserts) and coasters. Feel free to contact me for more info. Thanks again!
Love this event! So original and creative. Amber is very talented and has such great vision and style. Can't wait to see more of her on Style Me Pretty.
this looks exactly like dabney lee. did she do those?

No, Amber's custom tray is from Preppy Plates. I have two and love the large size - they measure 16" square. I got several removable inserts to use for every day and for holidays. I also have matching plates. i contacted LA Plates. It is a former Preppy Plates retailer who spun off the line and copied the designs.
This party was absolutely eye pleasing. I love the napkin rings. Simply amazing!
Gorgeous! Always love to see pompoms! I'm sure if you started a shower/party blog, it would be amazing! Go for it!!
Oh this totally plays to my preppy sensibility! I love the navy and pink, I love the belts as napkin rings, and I love the flowers! I might have to steal them for my wedding... someday. I wanted gerberas and roses, and I just adore the colors!
Thanks for branching out and sharing some fabulous shower photos!
I would love a party and home blog too! Yes, yes! Please do!
You can find the custom-made belted napkin rings here.
