When I saw these details from a recent Jen Huang photographed affair…I totally and completely swooned. Each one is more charming than the next, with a handmade style that is all together lovely.

How adorable? I love when couples bring in little touches that add warmth and personality. Especially in their decor. The bride actually made all of her centerpieces and added perfect little touches that would give the look a bit of something special. Love that.

  1. The assigned tables versus assigned seats are so much better! Still directing people but making it a little less formal. Love the woodland look, potted plants are the way to go!

I loooove poppies and want to have centerpieces like the ones shown above. You mentioned that the bride made them herself- do you know if she just went out and bought the flowers herself? Any recommendations on getting flowers to make your own centerpieces/bouquets?

Lovely! Looks so informal and wonderful

  8. What gorgeous details! And I especially love the cake topper!

  9. Oh I love the colors of this wedding! The greens, oranges and browns are so natural and beautiful together. Loved their idea of giving out extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar with the packaging matched to their theme and color palette. Cute!

Where did that cake topper come from?

  12. Hey there! This is Jen, the photographer : ) Just wanted to say that I'm trying to get all these details from the bride. I know that the toppers were carved wooden animals from a Brooklyn shop that recently closed : (. The bride did put all her bouquets and centerpieces together herself, and they were all bought from the San Francisco flower market. More on my blog: http://www.jenhuangphotography.blogspot.com

    Thx! /> Jen

Hello and thank you so much for you kind words.

We made all our printed goods ourselves, and we had a large amount of it. It was extremely important to have a sophisticated stationery suite that extended into all the printed elements that reflected us as a couple and were faithful to the tone and character of our event. It was definitely facilitated with our mutual backgrounds in architecture and design. I occasionally take on projects, so if you're in the New York area and are interested in seeing more of my work, please contact me.

Yes, the store that I purchased the wooden figures from is no longer in Brooklyn. There was no packaging or designer on them, they're basically folk art pieces. We assembled the topper with birch slices and preserved oats, made a plastic sleeve to fit underneath the wood so that it did not make contact with the cake, and attached the deer with Elmer's-Tack putty. The cake from Miette came with a small flower that we asked to have on the side. They kindly gave us several extra and the pastry chef at Town Hall Restaurant assembled all the elements beautifully.

With the help of our friends we did all of our floral arrangements and greenery. We're not professionals, but we were happy with how everything turned out. Please contact me at the below address if you would like more information. I am happy to elaborate about our processes or any of the details.
