I fell hard for these perfectly adorable save the dates that the hugely talented Marilyn Chien designed. She and her fiance are total foodies and wanted to find a fun way to capture that in their save the dates. Here is what they came up with!

From Marilyn…
The story of our Save the Dates is quite simple. I love baking (especially cupcakes) and my fiance is a pastry chef at Nobu. We’re definitely foodie people and what better way of personalizing that than designing a fun std that represents us. After designing countless ideas, my fiance, Moony, casually mentioned a “nutritional facts” idea but with our wedding info instead and our idea was born. Cupcakes + Bride & Groom + Wedding Facts! Perfect. What a way to start off as a team, no?

What a fun save-the-date! More importantly, however, what a great website this is!! I am in no way remotely by any stretch of the imagination anywhere near getting hitched, but I don't think I'll be able to stop myself from regular visits! Another day, another bookmark...Thanks!
These are really cute and clever!
I love it!
This is so perfect for a sweet & food-loving couple!
Wonderful graphic and whimsy feel to the cupcake card! Have any of you seen our wedding invitations that have sound? You can pick from our music library or even record your own message! I can just imagine this couple sending a wedding invitation with them talking as they bake their own wedding cake! The options are endless! What a great kick-off to a memorable event! Please see our wonderful selection of products at www.invitebyvoice.com.

Hello!
Thanks for all the wonderful comments! Glad you were all as excited about these as we were. :)
Along the Save the Date idea but different, I created a video and it was sent out in DVD form. Check out the online version here: http://vimeo.com/6513146
Adorable! Super cute design & very creative.
Am I the only person alive who feels a little weird about sending out "save the date" cards? I mean, suppose someone really doesn't want to come, for whatever reason. And suppose they are trying to spare my feelings by simply saying that they had another engagement? I just feel like sending out that card really makes it difficult for people not to come, and frankly, I don't want anyone there who doesn't really want to be!
What a fabulous idea! Love them.
Love this idea! We are thinking of doing a caricature for our save the date cards from giveacaricature.com for the front, I wonder if we can somehow incorporate a "recipe" on the back of our cards. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Ladies...
Thanks for all the comments! I will be taking down our wedding website soon but please feel free to keep in contact. You can now reach me at marilynnakazato.com/blog. Yes, I still design so you can definitely contact me for that. Thanks again!
We spent ages looking on the internet for some inexpensive save the date cards that were different. We ended up ordering from http://www.savethedatecards.co.uk
We ordered 60 of their frosted clear save the date cards with metallic silver foiling - they look lovely.
I'll try to take a good picture and see if I can upload it.
Very nice and unique. It's exactly what I like to show off at my blog: http://magnets-save-the-date.blogspot.com " rel="nofollow">Save The Date Magnets. i'll have to put a link up. Thanks! ♥ Bonita
