Charming, Country Club Wedding

August 3rd. 2009 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 15 comments

I hope everyone had a great weekend! We had a blast at my brother-in-law’s 30th birthday (Happy B-Day, Brad!), hitting up the children’s museum with our little bug, hanging out enjoying the summer. I wish it would stay Summer forever!

Anyway, over the weekend, I got an email from one of our readers wondering why we don’t show more country club weddings. After all, many of you are looking to throw traditional, sweet weddings in area clubs and need more inspiration!

So, I am on the hunt for chic, stylish country club chic affairs and this one is just that! It’s a little more simple than some of you are probably looking for, but it is utterly charming and will offer TONS of ideas and inspirations!

Photographed by none other than Little Black Book member Q Weddings (awesome by the way), this wedding is ALL about the pretty. Which we love! Here are some details from the beautiful bride…

Jason and I wanted an intimate wedding, so we invited everyone who’ve made a difference in our lives, and that became the theme.  We had 40 guests and no strangers.  People came from all over the world to see us, and we wanted to treat them right.  The menu included a steak and chicken duet plate because, well, why not have both?!

I was very hands-on with all the decorations, including the centerpieces and the place cards, etc.  The paper pompoms from Martha Stewart Crafts made all the difference in our wedding, and the pink fluffy hydrangeas on the tables really complimented them.

Because most men don’t care for wedding favors, I decided to please the ladies of the crowd with mini perfumes.  It’s a little indulgent but at the end, every girl smelled pretty and felt special.  I loved the way my mom arranged it.  They were just lovely!

MORE TO COME!

I am so in love with Martha's Poms I'm thinking of running away with them! Thank you for the plug on country club weddings. Being a Seattle-ite, we mostly have indoor weddings. This is fab.

Have you ever seen a wedding use paper flowers???

I love the decor. Very soft and romantic. The perfume favor idea was a nice touch too.

Simply gorgeous! Just because it's a country club doesn't mean one has to go all-out with chandeliers and towering florals. Understated works so much better - in any venue, really. This is a lovely wedding!

Love it! Keep the country club weddings coming! I am also planning a small country club wedding. I have been searching Style Me Pretty & other sources for ideas to help me make our beautiful and special to us but large & overly traditional space more intimate and personal. The featured bride clearly achieved that balance! Thank you for the inspiration!

OMG... I saw this fab Elizabeth Fillmore gown for sale on this website !!! And where are the pictures of the mini perfumes, Abby? I dying to see them.

  13. The pom poms in the window are just gorgeous - what a great way of taking the bareness off without using draping

Just ordered my tissue for my DIY party I'm hosting for some girlfriends! I have robin's egg blue, red, hot pink, medium pink, pale pink, and cream! I wasn't sure how they would all look in person... We will be making both big and medium pom poms for the wedding, and also small pom poms to be used as napkin rings. Still trying to work out how to tie them, maybe with ribbon? Or cool paper?

  15. I loved everything about this wedding. There was alot of detail without going overboard. Nicely done. I saw where someone mentioned the balls in the window were done with paper. Is this correct?
