Couple of things…first, you’ll notice that we pulled down the Jose Villa wedding that we were featuring earlier. Jose is working on getting us some better images (as well as a few more that you haven’t seen yet), so we’ll have that up very soon. Second, don’t forget the enter the Summer Inspired Crate and Barrel Giveaway…we are giving away a Panini Grill!

Crate and Barrel Winner!

July 11th. 2009 by Abby Larson | 1 comment

It’s FINALLY time to announce the second winner in our Crate and Barrel Favorites giveaway!

This time, we’ve chosen a COMPLETELY random winner, using the number 23 as our decision maker. The 23rd comment belonged to Sara, who said…

“My fiance and I adore Crate & Barrel! Our four current must-haves are: 1. The wine rack pictured above! One of our favorite date nights is just hanging out with the two of us and a bottle of wine, so a wine rack is...

Purple Inspired Wedding by Steve DePino, II

July 10th. 2009 by Abby Larson | 18 comments

Steve DePino sent us today’s gorgeous real wedding. It’s more traditional than some of the weddings that we feature so often on SMP, but it is just as lovely. And I know that we have a TON of readers who are designing a traditional, but fabulous wedding for themselves so it’s the perfect fit!

From the lovely bride…

We chose colors that complimented...

Purple Inspired Wedding by Steve DePino

July 10th. 2009 by Abby Larson | 25 comments

This wedding is all about the pretty. Sweet, traditional, absolutely perfectly pretty. Plus, it was shot by Steve DePino which means that I love it even more.

From the gorgeous bride…

Matt and I always wanted to have our wedding at a place that was really special to us and that represented who we are as a couple. I grew up in a small Connecticut shoreline town called Guilford that is absolutely beautiful in the...

Perfect Wedding in Colombia, II

July 10th. 2009 by Abby Larson | 18 comments

The bad news about today’s first featured affair is that it took place in Colombia, utilizing some of the best local vendors…which of course means that it might be hard to replicate the wedding. The good news is that many of the ideas are completely steal-able and could be done in just about any setting.

Here are a few details from the AMAZING photographers behind the day, Valeria and Juan

The bride and...

Perfect Wedding in Colombia

July 10th. 2009 by Abby Larson | 17 comments

Today’s first featured wedding is pure romance. I fell head over heels in love with these images the moment that I saw them and only wish that my own wedding was as effortlessly lovely.  The photographers that sent me the affair, Valeria and Juan, are a husband and wife team in Colombia…one a fashion and advertising photographer, one a photojournalist, the team has begun shooting weddings on the weekends. And man oh man, are...

Rustic, Vintage Wedding in Connecticut, II

July 9th. 2009 by Abby Larson | 15 comments

Loving this sweet, family inspired wedding that Carla Ten Eyck sent us. Carla completely nailed it with the vintage style photography, capturing the intimate and yet totally elegant style of the day. You know, I am a firm believer that although a wedding should be a reflection of the couple…it is also one of the only times in our lives where our families come together to celebrate something so incredibly special. Celebrating the...

Rustic, Vintage Wedding in Connecticut

July 9th. 2009 by Abby Larson | 15 comments

You know what I love the most about writing a wedding blog? It completely satisfies my completely irrational love of so many different wedding styles, so many different wedding perspectives. A chic, modern affair makes me completely giddy…but so does a fabulous rustic style wedding, a sleek beach side affair, a gorgeous traditional soiree. I love them all and I love that I have a job where I can get lost in each style every day of the week.

This one, sent to us by the AMAZING...

Traditional Affair in Tulsa, III

July 9th. 2009 by Abby Larson | 4 comments

After the ceremony, the couple held a fun cocktail party followed by a pretty incredible reception. It was all about the celebration and you can see from the candids of the guests that everyone was having a blast. I love that…a beautiful, sweet ceremony followed by an all out party.

Duston Todd is the genius behind the photographs, shooting the wedding entirely in film.  An approach that is incredibly (and sadly) rare these...

Traditional Affair in Tulsa, II

July 9th. 2009 by Abby Larson | 10 comments

Let me tell you a little bit about this couple. They had actually been married a full year before they decided to exchange vows publicly at their home in Tulsa with their closest friends and family. I know, if I had that home, I’d host a pretty killer wedding too. But here’s the special part…they obviously have a huge wedding budget. So much so that they decided to forgo all the bells and whistles and instead use their wedding funds to build a water well in an African...
