In celebration of our brand new Look Book (which I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am about), we are hosting a Fashion Inspired Inspiration Board Contest! It’s been a while, I know. But, we are bringing SMP inspiration boards back with a passion and we are hoping you guys will help us get the creative juices kicking.

{Quick little side note…if you love the photos above, you are in for a treat! We are featuring this wedding tomorrow}
So here’s the deal. Choose 1 dress from SMP’s Look Book and build an inspiration board around it. It’s that simple. With 9 different designers to choose from, all of whom are completely awesome, this shouldn’t be too hard. The only challenge might be in choosing just one!
Inspiration boards should be submitted to me, abby{at}stylemepretty.com no later than next Friday, July 31st. Boards should be jpegs, ideally at 600 pixels across (we won’t be able to feature anything smaller than that). Proper photo credits, with links, must be included or your board won’t be eligible. That’s it, that’s all she wrote!
Oh WAIT…the prize. The winner will get a $250 shop card to who else but…Crate and Barrel! Can’t beat that!
FUN!
What a cool contest!
I found my inspirational dress in the lookbook, but can't download a jpg to play with because it's all flash...thoughts?
can it be any of the dresses or just one of the initial ones shown?! This is going to keep me busy tonight! Can we submit more than one?
Hey Christina! You need to use the collections page to copy your gown (right click). For example,
http://www.stylemepretty.com/lookbook/watters-and-watters/wedding-dresses-spring-2009/ . When you drill down to the original image, you lose the ability to right click. Does that make sense?
Hey Sarah! You can use any of the dresses in the Look Book!
What a fun contest! Contestants are welcome to use photos of my wedding invitations and other wedding stationery from my website at http://www.JoyfulHeartDesign.com or from my wedding blog at http://blog.oohandaahweddinginvites.com . for their inspiration boards.
Great contest. Can't wait to work on my board.
I hope this isn't a silly question....but, I've never made an "inspiration board" before...is that just a fancy term for collage? How big can they be? I know it said 600 pixels (600x600?) but that was the smallest, what's the biggest? Excited to get started!!
So excited. Never done one...but game on!
How do I figure out how many pixels my inspiration board is?
Hooray! I can't wait to work on my board entry!!
If you can't figure out how to check on the pixels with the program that you are using, just send it my way and I can check it for you:)
Kage...yep, inspiration board just means photo collage! Bigger is better, but aim for around 600 pixels. Again, if you don't know how to figure that one, no biggie. Just email me the attachment.
Can't wait to see everything!!
I'm with Kage- I've never done one myself but have always loved how creative people they can be. Would anyone recommend a specific program to make the board with? Photoshop, word, ???? I'm so excited- now I need to pick a dress!!!!

Oh boy! I love doing Inspiration boards... and you're right, it will be hard to choose just one dress, so I may have to do them all and then choose!

Oh gosh, how beautiful! Abby, can't wait for the post on the real wedding!
I'm not sure how to make an inspiration board. Does anybody know of an easy tutorial to show me how? Thanks!
Hey Christina! it's beautiful!
how exciting!!
So excited for this contest - my dress is the Modern Trousseau Laura, so it will be fun to make an inspiration board featuring it!
Does it have to be 600, or can we do a horizontal board that is wider than that?
Abby--
How do I create an active link? I know the websites that all of my images came from, which I can send you, but don't know how to make them active if I list just as the name of the website (as illustrated on the first two samples of inspiration boards that you showed recently). Thanks!
600 seems pretty small to me...is there an example?
