Kristina and Mark’s May wedding took place on the beautiful island of Oahu at the Hawaii State Art Museum. Little Black Book members, Flowergirls sent us these gorgeous shots of their contribution to the day!

Kristina and Mark’s wedding style was ‘modern ~ organic’ …

We LOVE the twist of the maids in white and the bride in her Vera …

The bouquets are simply awesome!

We love the simple elegance that the chosen blooms convey.

So soft, so pretty!

Our thanks to Christie Pham Photography for these great images of the day … Congratulations to Kristina and Mark!
And to Flowergirls … Mahalo รข nui!
I love the Kristina's dress! Also, the feathers mixed in with the peonies in the bridal bouquet is a nice touch.
I love brides who are a bit daring, but also elegant. I'm having a fairly traditional wedding, but I'm wearing red instead of white. It's fun to mix more traditional elements with different, new elements.
lovely, lovely wedding. i love the flowers and the "modern organic" theme.
What type of flowers did you use? They are beautiful. I am also using only purple and white flowers. As well, where did you get your table numbers and table number stands? They are great!
I love the twist on traditional colors- bride wearing green & BMs in white.
This wedding is so beautiful! I love the organic color scheme with the pops of purple. Who made the gorgeous invitations?
Thank you for all of the wonderful comments! It's so exciting to see our photos up on this amazing website. To answer the questions:
Flowers - peonies, hydrangeas, dahlias, hypericum berries, kale, artichokes, lisianthus. On a side note, the bridesmaid bouquets doubled as cocktail table centerpieces once the ceremony and photos were finished. It was a great way to be economical and use all of the beautiful florals efficiently.
Table numbers - I made all of the table numbers in photoshop from the images used in our invitations. All stationary/signs followed the same design. The stands were just standard from the rental company.
Hope that helps!
Our dear friend made the invitations for us. She is a designer in NYC. Her name is Julia Zimmerman. You can contact her at www.juliaclaire.org.
love the colors used in this wedding...so pretty!
Where did you find the labels that you used for your wedding favors ? & what did your guest take home for the wedding favor ? please do tell & what a beautiful wedding
I LOVE that Kristina's dress is in colour and the girls are wearing the white- what a great look! More brides should do this- and Kristina, your dress is just stunning on you!
Love it.
Wow I love YOUR invites! your friend is super talented! Everything looks so perfect
I looove this wedding!! I love that Kristina didn't wear white and yet the whole wedding still looks classic and beautiful.
Re: Lori
I designed the labels for the favors in photoshop (from the images used in the invitation) and just printed on cardstock. With the help of wonderful friends, we cut, punched holes, and tied ribbons on all of the individually wrapped shortbread cookies in just one night! (400 of them!) The cookies were made with a flavored jelly center: purple (guava) and green (lilikoi-passion fruit) to match the rest of the color theme.
The centrepieces are stunning! I love the use of the artichokes!
Hey Kristina,
I love your dress.. where is the dress from? or brand? love it!
Gorgeous wedding, I really like the "modern ~ organic" theme, they nailed with that lush backdrop in HI.
So happy to hear great comments on this wedding. I must say Kristina "bride" gave me creative freedom to design her florals and I loved every minute of it. I thank her for being so trusting on such an important factor in her wedding. All we needed was the facts and from there we could just fly. And what a beautiful couple!!!
This is such a beautiful wedding! I'm in Hawaii also planning my wedding for next year. Where are those shortbread cookies with the fruit center from?
Kudos to Christie Pham! I stumbled across her photos of this wedding a couple of weeks ago and blogged about them here:

DRESS: When I started looking for wedding dresses, I tried on a number of different white dresses, but none of them felt unique. I knew I wanted something architectural, but simple. And everything I saw was same over and over again. Then I found a Vera Wang bridesmaid dress that had a neckline and details that stood out to me. The dress was noted as "color: ivory/green", which we all took to mean that it came in both colors. Once I tried it on and started thinking of the ways I would alter and redrape it, I really became attached to it. It was only when trying to order it, I found out the "ivory" was just a ribbon sash that came with the dress. I stood in the store for about an hour trying to visualize how I could make a green dress work and in the end, I LOVED the idea of switching out the colors. It made perfect sense that I would wear green and everything I wanted my wedding to be: modern, non-traditional, unique, just went with the idea of a colored dress. I called my fiance to tell him about my idea, and he just said, "yeah, that sounds like you". It was really a serendipitous and wonderful circumstance that ended up defining the event. I ended up also using that ivory ribbon as a belt that I sewed a handmade silk flower onto for my afterparty dress... which was also green!
On a side note, I would really recommend that brides consider bridesmaid dresses for their own gown. So many are well designed now, and for brides that are not into the "puffy, princess" outfit, it makes for a very chic and inexpensive alternative. Since it is so economical, the bride can spend more money on beautiful jewelry that she can wear forever! That was what I did - with my Tiffany's necklace. I probably won't ever wear my dress again, but I will definitely make use of that beautiful white gold necklace.
COOKIES: A dear friend made them for me, but she does cookie baskets and other baked goods for purchase. Her goodies are hands-down THE BEST I've ever eaten. The shortbread cookies are amazing, but she also does dipped chocolate cookies, lemon and other fruit bars, brownies, etc. Her prices are also a steal since she does everything herself. Her name is Angie and you can contact her at agy57@aol.com.
I love how the bride switched it up and wore a green dress with the bridesmaids in white. It gives the wedding a fun and interesting twist. All of the weddings on your site are always so wonderful. Keep up the good work!
Wow, fab idea i love how the Bride took a risk, the wedding turned out to be lovely.
Wow! Everything looks so cute and elegant! I've never in my life seen a bride wearing some other color other than white or beige, but she looks lovely in her Vera dress. It looks like everything turned out perfect. I really like the organic theme, the floral arrangements- I just love everything.
Hi Kristina,
Thank you for answering all our questions! You looked amazing and the wedding just beautiful... Congrats!
Kristina, what a beautiful beautiful wedding. I have been thinking about having my wedding at the Hawaii State Art Museum and then my sister sent me this link to your wedding!! I also was going to have white bridesmaids but then switched to silver because I am still wearing white.. I love your peony bouquet and the bridesmaids flowers! What time of day did you do your ceremony and then reception. We wanted to do a twilight reception as well. Did you do a plated dinner or buffet? Anyway if you have time hope to hear back from you~! Aloha~
To Carmel:
Apologies for the lag in response time. Hopefully, you are still checking back in on this site. The ceremony was at 5pm, cocktails and pupus at 6pm, and dinner at 7pm. The cocktail hour gave guests time to walk through the amazing galleries at HiSAM. Our dinner was stationed so guests walked to different areas around the courtyard to grab small plates of food. We catered from downtown@HiSAM and it was fantastic! Not to mention, one of my favorite restaurants (along with TOWN) in the world. The food and presentation was so chic and elegant. Keoni is the GM and he was a joy to work with. Definitely consider them for your food. Hope that helps! :)
