Venue + Bouquet Combos by La Partie Events, III

The lovely Megan Fickling of La Partie Events in Santa Monica is stopping by today to share some of her favorite tips for designing your flowers around your wedding venue.  An approach that is so important to creating a wedding that is cohesive and effortlessly fabulous.

When choosing your wedding flowers, keep the style and feel of your venue in mind.  Ask your florist to do a  walk-through of your venue with you so that s/he sees the space and works with it, not against it.  This next venue is close to my heart 1) because it’s the beach and 2) because it’s my own wedding!  This is on Topanga Beach in Malibu, CA and as you can see, I wanted a lot of color.  In my bouquet, I used bright pink peonies and mini pink amaryllis.  In my bridesmaid bouquets, I used white garden roses, white peonies, mini pink amaryllis, bright pink sweet peas and green viburnum.

This next venue is Hidden Chateau and Gardens in West Hills, CA.  It has a great, rustic feel to it and romantic gardens.  The only direction the fabulous bride Robin gave me was “fall colors” so I had fun choosing flowers that I felt were unique and also could be found on the grounds of the venue.  In Robin’s bouquet, I used purple and yellow seeded eucalyptus, large orange amaryllis, orange roses and orange coxcomb.

Megan will be back next week with more gorgeous tips and inspirations. Coming up next, an absolutely perfect wedding!
