My husband came up with the initial design and worked with Debbie Does Cakes to make it happen. We are both scientists and wanted something fun that would also reflect our passion and dedication to the field. There were gold DNA helix-like structures at the base as well as two sex chromosomes on the top tier, detailed with a striped pattern. Many of our guests, also biologists, debated over the accuracy of the representation during the night. The fact that it sparked so much conversation provided a lot of amusement for us.
