Style Me Pretty

Crate and Barrel Favorites!

June 29th. 2009 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 77 comments

We are taking a little break from today’s real wedding for a pretty awesome giveaway!

Word is out that we have partnered up with Crate and Barrel (one of my all time favorite brands) to do an INCREDIBLE wedding registry giveaway worth $4,000. And if that isn’t enough to make you squeal with glee, SMP is also gifting one of our favorite Crate and Barrel products every couple of weeks so that you can have loads of chances to win something fabulous.

Here are this week’s favorite four Crate and Barrel products!

crate and barrel

We are all about wine right now. With Summer officially here, it’s so much fun to play house and have your nearest and dearest over for glass of vino and some great apps. It’s basically my favorite kind of get together. But…you can’t have a good wine party without the necessary supplies!

1. This FABULOUS wine rack. Perfect, perfect, perfect for an apartment setting. You can mount this baby up on the wall and not only have a great place to store your wine, you also have a pretty cool piece of art to show off to your friends!

2. The PERFECT wine glass. I am a huge wine glass snob.  A great glass just makes the wine taste that much better and these, the Adrienne Wine Glasses, are total perfection. Classic, forever chic. Love that.

3. The Rabbit. For most, this is a must have. If you are the kind of girl that likes everything to look completely effortless, the rabbit will be your best friend. It literally just pulls the cork right out of the bottle with ease, no muscles needed.

4. A stunning decanter. There is just something fancy about serving red wine in an absolutely gorgeous decanter. Even if it’s a $6 bottle of Barefoot, your guests will think that you quite the hostess. Fake it till you make it is always my motto!

Now for the giveaway part! If you didn’t enter our last one, to enter, just list your four registry Must-Haves and we’ll gift one lucky reader the first three products above! So that all of your friends will be so jealous when you host a perfectly chic wine and cheese party!

And if you haven’t already, click here to start your Crate and Barrel Registry process and enter to win a $4000 Crate and Barrel shop card!

  44. Leslie says:

This is tough as I love all things related to the home, ESPECIALLY the kitchen. Cooking and entertaining our two of our favorite ways to spend time. That being said, my top four registry "Must Haves" are...
    1. Kitchen Aid Mixer - I can't say that I'll miss the days of making cookie dough with just a bowl, a woooden spoon, and some muscle grease.
    2. Mixing Bowls in various sizes. It's extremely helpful to have all of your ingredients pre-measured and ready to go before you begin cooking. Having several bowls is ideal for this. Plus, if you're anything like me, it makes you feel like you're on a cooking show!
    3. White dinnerware - To me, food almost always looks best presented on white dishes. I think it's smart to invest in top notch white porcelain dinnerware and then add color with accent plates, napkins, and other tabletop accessories. It will never get old!
    4. Champagne Flutes - You never know when you're going to have something to celebrate so I'm a firm believer in always having a bottle of bubbly on hand. Drinking champagne out of any other glass just isn't quite the same.

3: the Marcel wine glasses (just beautiful, and we often have impromptu gatherings of a few friends and a few bottles of wine...and tater tots...we're all about mixing the high and the low!)
4: the table in a bag (my fiancee' works at Ravinia, an outdoor music venue outside of Chicago - I'm there a lot in the summer (else I don't see him in the daylight sometimes for days!) and it's all about the picnic spread there...this table is one I've coveted many a time!)

The things I was most exited to add to our registry were the

    2. The George Forman G5 grill - waffles + strawberrys + my man = best breakfast in bed
    3. Giant waffle weave towels - giant for my giant 6'5'' fiance
    4. yards and yards of various fabric - becuase we moved into a fixer-uper, so our funiture buget
was limited...flea market finds are great - but UGLY hehe

I love the wine rack...it's sleek and totally nifty, and would definately be a nice addition to our newly redone kitchen!

    Thanks for the opportunity

  56. Meredith says:

    1. picture frames for wedding photos
    2. pot rack (we have a small kitchen and it's a great space saver)
    3. Oxo Pop Containers - we got SO many of these and they are wonderful!
    4. Cold Beverage Jar

  57. Maria says:

  60. April says:

My favorite C & B stuff changes all the time. I'm always finding new things to add, and figuring out that I "need" one thing more than the others on any given day. So right now, my favorites are:

    1. Spa Bath Caddy - My FI just retiled the bathroom and painted. I think all of his hard work deserves some new furnishings!
    2. Bamboo Wall Mounted Pot Rack - Hanging up my pans would free up some much needed cabinet space.
    3. Cuisinart 8 Bottle Wine Cellar - I'm so tired of only having room in the fridge for one or two bottles at a time!
    4. Kitchen Aid Mixer in Chrome - Really? We need a reason?

    Thanks for this Giveaway!

  61. Tammy says:

I registered at C&B right after we got engaged! My must haves:

    1. Classic Block Set 8 Piece Knives (we lost all our knives in a move).
    2. Krups Spice/Coffee Grinder (a girl's gotta get her coffee on)!
    3. Krups Steam Espresso Machine (see above)
    4. The River Seine Print of Paris...although this isn't a "necessity" per say, we got engaged in Paris and we just totally fell in love with the photo at the store.

    Thanks!

  62. Jenn K. says:

Our must haves are a wide range of items:
    1. Calphalon pots and pans.
    2. The Carmel Sofa from C&B. We are currently using a old one from 30 years ago. The cushions are falling out and have completely lost form. Have you sat on this couch? Heaven it was the first thing to go on our registry.
    3. Stemless wine glasses
    4. Last but not least my fiance is dying for some on to get us the Calphalon removable plate grill. Every time a box comes he says "i hope this is the grill" :)

  63. Melissa C says:

I clearly have a problem since I created my crate and barrel registry before I was even officially engaged...Borderline crazy person over the following items.
    1. The Parker Bowls Set. Completely cute completely bright...whenever I see these on someone else's registry I always buy them for them
    2. The Herb Keeper. I currently put my herbs in a glass of water in the fridge, this is a true upgrade
    3. The Rabbit. I think this is the second most popular rabbit a girl owns. A staple.
    4. Kitchen Aid. Clearly. Why else am I getting married but to register for this?

  64. Kirsten T says:

Items at Crate & Barrel are like my "27 Dresses" with HUGE exceptions!!!!!!!
    1. I genuinely LOVE their products! I won't be putting on a fake smile and saying yes, I LOVE IT, when deep inside I cringe.
    2. I can, and WILL, definitely use them again and again!
    3. THIS TIME, I hopefully won't have to purchase the items I register for....because, THEY'LL BE FOR ME!!!!! YIPPEEE:::)))
FINALLY, after the many times I've been a bridesmaid- college friends, best friends, older sister, and twin sister, IT'S MY TIME!
After several trips to C&B to purchase the items I really like for others....I can NOW register MYSELF!!!
    Where do I start?
    1. Wine Cooler- I'll need it for regulating my medicinal liquids. Planning goes well with cocktails!
    2. Kitchenaid Mixer- A must have for the undomesticated...Although I watch the Food Network, I need all the help I can get!
    3. Picnic table in a bag- I have purchased this for several other people. It's always a hit and a great item to keep in the trunk of your car...just in case, for those spur of the moment adventures!

  65. Mary says:

We love entertaining and have picked these items as our favorites:
    1. Chelsea footed cake plate
    2. Round au gratin dishes for french onion soup and homemade chicken pot pie
    3. Sol vase to decorate the table with!
    4. And the Marlene table lamp, not really for entertaining, but we love it for our guest bedroom

  66. Alicia says:

    1. Kitchen Aid Mixer - my hear goes pitter patter every time I think about owning one.
    2. Healthy Indoor Grill - we plan to move to Seattle after we're married... not exactly grilling weather up there.
    3. Vinturi Red Wine Aerator - speaking of wine...
    4. Shesham Wall Mount Wine Rack - you made me fall in love with it. Now hand it over!

I've been waffling back and forth on whether or not to register at Crate & Barrel. With the economic downturn and belt-tightening lately, I fear they'll be too expensive for our guests, but the quality of design and craftsmanship is divine and their products fit right in with our well-established homey contemporary decorating style. I think it's worth it. Thus, here are my current 4 favorites:

    1. Jura-Capressa Electric Kettle - We're loose tea and french pressed coffee junkies. Our stove top takes foreeeeever to boil water, and an electric kettle this beautiful would find its home on our counter, to be used with my double walled clear glass mugs I already own.

    2. Wusthof Ikon 8-piece Knife Block Set - Our current knives are Terrible with a capital 'T'. The day approaches when one of us will cut ourselves with a dull blade as we try to saw through flank steak.

    3. KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer in Onyx - I've been talking myself out of needing a mixer this fancy.. but y'know what? A fancy and beautiful mixer would be.. fancy! And lovely!

    4. Cuisinart Food Processor - My favorite bean dip recipe just does not come out right at all from our shoddy little blender/food processor combo appliance. I need something with some real power under the hood. That's where my buddy Cuisinart comes in.

    My top 4 from C&B:
    1 - the wine rack you featured...amazing.
2 - The Classic Century White Placesettings & Serveware!
    3 - A new bedspread!
    4 - A Cuisinart!!!!!

I can't wait to start registering.

Our wedding is taking place in a vineyard, so these Crate & Barrel favourites are absolutely perfect! As for our registry, these are our top four must haves:

    1. The wine rack you've featured: I didn't see this in the store when we were completing our registry, but it is gorgeous. Instead of having a guest book at our wedding, we're planning on having a different bottle of wine at each table that our guests can sign with a silver sharpie. Then we'll open one bottle on each of our wedding anniversaries. I can't think of a better way to display these bottles in our home than on this wine rack.

    2. The Rabbit: No matter how many bottles of wine I open (and I've opened plenty in my day!), I always end up struggling with the cork in a very un-elegant fashion. A friend of ours has the Rabbit - it works wonderfully and breeds a lot more confidence from your guests.

    3. The KitchenAid Mixer: Like almost every other girl, I've dreamed of having one of these FOREVER, and have always held off, telling myself that one day I'll be able to put it on my registry!

    4. Cuisinart Coffee Maker: We're still using my very small coffee maker from college, which causes us to have to brew two or three pots before we're both satisfied. I can't wait to wake up to a nice big pot of coffee that has been digitally programmed to be ready exactly when we need it most!

My fiance and I adore Crate & Barrell! Our four current must-haves are:
    1. The wine rack pictured above! One of our favorite date nights is just hanging out with the two of us and a bottle of wine, so a wine rack is necessary to make sure we have plenty of bottles stocked up for lots of date nights!
    2. Wine glasses, to go with the date nights--and more than 2 would be great so we can invite friends and family to join in also!
    3. Our Cuisinart Electric Fondue maker--because wine and cheese makes the perfect date night, making cheese (and of course chocolate!) fondue is a perfect addition--we LOVE it!
    4. The rabbit corkscrew, to make sure we can break those bottles open!

  74. Alexis says:

My top 4 Crate & Barrel registry items are: 1. the 24-cupcake carrier, which makes transporting my delicious baked good super easy; 2. the pancake warmer to keep my fiance's delicious pancakes warm before serving them to our guests at our annual brunch; 3. the acacia wood salad bowl because it's too pretty to store in a cabinet; and 4. the wine rack pictured above for a unique way to store wine.

  75. Andrea says:

If anyone lives in New York City, I highly recommend registering with Michael C. Fina. They have a HUGE selection of tableware and everything is absolutely beautiful. My husband and I registered there when we got married two months ago and we LOVE everything we got. Michael C. Fina only has one store (located on Fifth Ave.), but you can purchase gifts off the registry if most of your guests live out-of-town and can't make the trip into the city.

All the brides should definitely stop by the store and check it out. Definitely worth it.
Congratulations to all the happy couples!
