Lindsey and John are planning their vintage glam September wedding with the assistance of Weddings And The City ~ WATC was founded by this same incredible photographer, Kristin Vining!

from the soon-to-be-groom, John …

The first time I saw a picture of Lindsey my heart started racing. Her curly blonde hair and perfect smile knocked me off my feet. She was absolutely stunning. I realize only so much can be translated through a photo, but it was like she reached right inside me and touched my soul. It was one of those moments that only happen in a cheesy romance movie, and yet there I was. The rush of emotion was overwhelming and scary all at the same time. Could simply looking at a picture tell such a story? A story as though you already knew that person looking back at you from a sheet of high gloss paper? I would have to wait two months before time would begin to unveil the most incredible story of my life.

Lindsey has also shared some of their plans with us and we thought it would be fun for you to hear just a bit …

Our goal is to try to keep the wedding costs to a minimum and that’s why we’re doing all of these DIY projects. I’ve made everything down to the bridesmaid’s bouquets which are replicas of the Kate Spade Feather Puff. I’ve also designed our Save the Dates and created an oversized front/ back postcard. I then had them printed for a total cost of $32!! We plan to limit the amount of flowers and really utilize feathers… in a tasteful way. We’re getting married in an art museum located downtown which has a roof top that overlooks the city. Seating will be inside and outside … and we’re utilizing large 36” balloons to add height within the room and the outside. Sorry, I’m probably overloading you with SO much information – I’m just too excited!

Lyndsey and John’s engagement photos make me think of the now famous quote … Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away ~ George Carlin (1937-2008).

Lindsey, your engagement pictures are stunning, and your wedding sounds like it will be gorgeous. Would you mind sharing with us where you found your lace dress and vintage barrette? They're beautiful.

  13. AmberLee says:

  14. Lindsey says:

Hi everyone, thank you all so much for your sweet words, we had such a wonderful time!!! I absolutely adore our photographer Kristin Vining who is such a joy to work with and makes us feel so comfortable!! Even my fiancé John had a great time! Thank you Kristin – we love you!

As for the wardrobe… so much fun!! I purchased my pokadot dress and shoes from Anthropology earlier in the year – best place to pull off the vintage look!! My hairpiece actually fell off my favorite pairs of shoes which I then turned into a barrette. :) My hats and John’s newsboy cap came from Belk. My lace dress was actually something that I borrowed from one of my best friends she also purchased it from Belk.

Lots of love to you all ~ Lindsey

  15. Scarlett says:

I had a feeling, the polka dot was Anthropologie, It had their look all over it! One last question, and I'll leave you alone! is the lace dress new from Belk or something your friend has had for awhile? Thanks!!

    xoxo,
    scarlett

  16. Lindsey says:

Hi Scarlett – The lace dress was purchased by my friend I think last summer at Belk so it might be hard to find. Check out this website… some of their clothes are a little over the top but you might have some luck finding something fun + flirty for your engagement pictures! I love their 50’s era dresses!! Good luck and congratulations on your engagement Scarlett. http://www.unique-vintage.com/

    Love ~ Lindsey

  17. Stassja says:

    Lindsey,

Where did you get your save the dates printed so cheaply? We are doing postcards for our seating cards and I'm looking to keep costs down.

    Stassja

  18. Lindsey says:

Hi Stassja - I created the front and back of the “oversized” postcard in photoshop and uploaded them to the vistaprint.com – they did a great job!! I also had personalized stamps made with a picture of John + myself from www.zazzle.com. Hope this helps!

    Love ~ Lindsey

    Lindsey,

I am sooo enthralled with your pictures and your wedding. It is EXACTLY what I have in my own head but am having trouble explaining my 'vision' to others/planners/vendors/ etc....If you have any planner recommendations in Southern California that would be fabulous! Everyone so far is cookie cutter weddings which is absolutely NOT my style! Thank you!! & congratulations on your amazing wedding & most importantly, your marriage.
