Crate and Barrel Favorites!

June 8th. 2009 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 261 comments

As most of you know by now, we announced our newest adventures with Crate and Barrel last week and broke the news that we are doing a massive giveaway with them, valued at $4,000. All you have to do is set up your Crate and Barrel Wedding Registry through Style Me Pretty and you’ll be entered to win!

Well, because we have naturally become obsessed with all things C&B over the years, we thought it might be fun to give away a few of our favorites! So, every two weeks we will be announcing four of our favorite products from the Crate and Barrel collection and will be giving one of them to a lucky reader!

Pretty great, right!? Here are this week’s favs…

crate and barrel

(clockwise from top left)

1. Reversible Double Griddle – I am obsessed with these babies. The flat griddle is PERFECT for pancakes, pressed sandwiches and even burgers. The grill is obviously great for grilled chicken, veggies and anything else that needs those pretty little grill marks. Honestly, a must have.

2. Lucerne Casseroles – I love, love, love these little casserole dishes. One pot meals are so cozy and you’re hubby will think that you spent all day in the kitchen. Plus, they go from the oven to the table looking gorgeous.

3. Footed Cake Platter with Dome – This little gem is every baker’s dream come true. Whether you want to carry your cake to your b/f’s dinner party and give her a run for her money, or you want to have your masterpiece sit as the shining star on your table, this cake stand is all about the pretty.

4. KitchenAid Mixer – If there is one thing that every bride MUST have, it’s the KitchenAid Mixer. It’s the first thing that I registered for and the one item that I would grab in a fire. Okay, maybe not. But seriously, it’s a staple. With its iconic design and sleek new silver color, I’ve fallen in love all over again.

Now that we’ve said our peace, we want to hear from YOU. List your four registry Must-Haves and we’ll gift one lucky reader that fabulous KitchenAid Mixer! Yup, you read it right…we are giving that baby away!

And if you haven’t already, click here to start your Crate and Barrel Registry process and enter to win a $4000 Crate and Barrel shop card!

Though we legitimately love them, Crate & Barrel is an advertiser on Style Me Pretty.

  1. Leah says:

I have to agree that the KitchenAid Mixer is a must have! I would love to get one, and get the attachment to make fresh pasta! Yum! I would also have to pick timeless white dishes, a food processor, and a beautiful picture frame. Thank you for the great contest!

  2. Maggie says:

My four wedding registry must haves are:

    1) High quality cutting knife set (my knives are Pitiful!)

    2) Dutch Oven

    3) Griddle (we live in a condo so we can't have a grill and I definitely like my steaks with the grill marks!)

    4) Nice wine glasses (we have had a mismatch of wine glasses forever--we definitely want the high quality ones)

  3. Melissa says:

Of course the kitchen aid mixer is #1! It is the one thing I always knew I wanted on my registry when I got engaged. In creating my registry, I tried to keep to items that are really truly useful and will last a long time. I love the idea of using something in the kitchen a few years from now and having the memory of which friend or family member gave it to us to use as a married couple. I think a great set of white dishes are a must-have -they can be dressed up, dressed down and will always be in style. My fiancee's 1 must have was a panini grill. I wonder how often we will use it, but he loves his sandwiches and it was his only request, so its at the top. The fourth must-have on my list is wonderful new bedding for the married couple!

  4. Sarah says:

I’m obsessed with Crate & Barrel. What a great giveaway! Here are the four must-haves from my registry.
    1. I am desperate for a KitchenAid Mixer. There are so many recipes I’m dreaming of making that require a mixer so I had to add it to our registry.
    2. The Smartpower Premier Stainless Steel Blender will be perfect for making smoothies this summer.
    3. I’m in love with the Lindsey Paisley linens. The pattern is so chic and classic.
    4. The Pure Serving Bowls would be the perfect addition to our dinnerware. They’re so sleek and modern looking.

  5. Mary says:

    Hi SMP!

    My four registry must haves:
    1. Kate Spade Gardner Street Platinum 5-piece place setting - I swear the most timeless China out there, and I cannot wait to entertain with these lovely settings!
    2. Cuisinart 11-Cup Capacity Food Processor - for those who enjoy cooking, and making amazing sauces and dips....this is a must have!
    3. Steel Garlic Press - I know this one is very strange, but I LOVE cooking with fresh garlic, but HATE chopping it! I never knew these existed until we registered!
    4. KitchenAid Mixer - My fiance would not let me register for this (he thought it was too pricey $$$), so the only way I can possibly get my dream mixer is to wish and hope it will fall out of the sky!

    Thank you for sharing!

  6. Elizabeth Sandlin says:

That Kitchen Aid mixer was at the Top of my registry must haves, and sadly we didn't get it! Our wedding was only 2 weeks ago, so I suppose there's still time... But winning one would be just as spectacular The other top three items would have to be -an out door grill (check!) -Le Creuset cookware (none yet) and -A variety of fabulous cookbooks (check!) We are definitely foodies, so it is all about the kitchen.

  7. Laura says:

1.) The KitchenAid Mixer is number one! I don't have one yet and desperately need one for all the baking I do! The hand mixer just doesn't cut it.
2.) Le Creuset frying pan. Love the fun bright colors and they make wonderful cookware.
3.) A nice grill pan. We can't have a grill at our apartment so a grill pan is a must have for all of the steaks, chicken etc that we make.
4.) New everyday dishes. We registered for the Roulette pattern at C&B. So excited to get rid of the Ikea dishes that we have accumulated since college days.

  8. Lauren says:

    Wedding Registry Must Haves:

    1. Crystal Champagne Flutes (I'm inheriting my parent's crystal, so I want to have two pieces that start with my marriage)

    2. A great set of knives (this was my Fiance's pick!)

    3. Good cookware (These can last a long time, my mom's had some pieces for the past 30 years)

    4. Cozy bed linens

  9. Meaghan says:

The KitchenAid Mixer was also one of the first items I put on our Crate & Barrel wedding registry -- but there's a twist: this classic kitchen staple is really more for my hubby-to-be than for me! Though I like to cook, my fiance is the one who is amazing in the kitchen, and he usually cooks our meals. I'm a busy grad student, and he loves to unwind after work by experimenting in the kitchen -- so this arrangement works great for us both! He's not into the wedding details like I am (an admitted daily SMP reader!) I know he likes the idea of receiving some nice kitchen stuff as gifts, and I would love to surprise him with this one! Along with some quality pots & pans, good cutlery, and a Cuisinart food processor (which I learned to appreciate when I was lucky enough to have a chef roommate -- who was in fact the person who introduced me to my fiance!) this KitchenAid Mixer would be a welcome addition to our home together! Thanks for the great site!

  10. Kellie says:

    My Four Registry Must-Haves:

    1. KitchenAid mixer of course - I don't currently have one of these, and feel like I'm not fit to be a wife until I do! I have visions of cookie batter swirling in the mixer while I dance around the kitchen with my new hubby singing Christmas carols next winter... Cheesy fantasy, I know :)

    2. Pizza Grilling Stone - I never realized how fantastic having a pizza stone was until I moved out of my parents house and lost access to theirs. On a Friday night, after a long week at work, nothing is better than throwing together a deliciously over-topped pizza, and the baking stone is a must have. Throwing this baby on the grill makes it an even better dinner helper on those nights when it's too hot for the oven.

    3. A good salad serving set - The Flair Bamboo Bowl + Salad hands were the first things I added to my registry. Salad is one of those often overlooked courses when it comes to serving pieces, and a beautiful wooden bowl like this one is a great accent to any setting. No more tupperware on the table for me thanks.

    4. "Bride & Groom: First & Forever Cookbook - This one speaks for itself. What's more fun than a book full of recipes written for a newlywed team?

  11. Anya says:

I think you captured Registry Must-Haves perfectly! I love all things Crate & Barrel and all things Williams-Sonoma!

    My must-haves are...

    1. Kitchenaid Mixer
    2. Calphalon Knives
    3. Cuisinart Food Processor
    4. Parker Bowls (I use at least one of these bowls every night - great for food prep and serving!)

I have the reversible griddle from C&B and it's great! I got it as an engagement present and have used it constantly - from grilling meat indoors during these cold Massachusetts winters, to making pancakes on the weekend - it's definitely a must-have!

  12. Ellen says:

Oooohhh! So hard to narrow it down. Here are my top four must haves.

1.) A Kitchen-Aid Mixer. LOVE those puppies. I've been dreaming of one for years.
2.) Cuisnart Food Processor. Makes life so much simpler. Can't wait to chop stuff in that. And make dough. And puree.
3.) Fancy pans. My eyes are on an All-Clad set. Shiny and dreamy. I love to cook and would use them daily to feed my 6'8" hubby to be.
4.) A punch bowl and cups. Not your normal must have, but I love to entertain! I think its the southern girl buried deep in me that just loves the idea of a punch bowl sitting on a table full of sparkling dishes and glass.

  13. Lindsay says:

    hi SMP!

I have to say, I'm amazed I've lived as long as I have without these 4 items. My fiance and I are 30-something, but based on our kitchen utensils you'd think we were living in a run down fraternity house! it's comical. That being said, I am hoping for the following and counting the seconds till I get to use them :)
    1. KitchenAid mixer!! Such a treat
    2. Cuisinart Wine Cellar- we've been collecting wines on our travels but I'm sure we're not storing them well
    3. Slow Cooker- can't wait to use this on cold & wintry Sundays!
    4. Food Processor- I inherited a tiny one from my grandmother and got a little taste of what I'm missing out on
    thanks!

  14. jessica says:

Top Four Registry Must - Haves for the Rourkes New Kitchen!

4). White Duvet Cover - Because nothing looks more cozy than a big, fluffy, white duvet cover!

    3).Monogrammed Steak Brander (http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/cw140/index.cfm?pkey=xsrd0m1|16|||0|||||||steak%20brander&cm_src=SCH )

We will have the same initials - so this is a must have! When we have children one day, and they do something to make us proud - we'll heat up the grill, put on some steaks and give the JPR seal of approval by branding our initials into their meat!

2). Kitchen Aid Mixer in Chrome. When I was in middle school my mom decided to order a new Kitchen Aid Mixer. She has great taste, but over thinks purchases. She had to order them online. One by one, should would order one, ask everyone's opinion, send it back and order another. The colors included, white, almond, purple, orange, dark green, light green, silver, cranberry, red. Thirteen years later, she still hasn't picked out a color! When I registered for the Chrome, she said - "I think I'll get that color!"

1). Martha Stewart Whiteware. Our kitchen won't be complete without this collection of everyday Serveware. It's part chic, part vintage part practical - and will make our kitchen, displayed in a large open shelf.

  15. Valerie says:

Oh the KitchenAid Mixer is just so lovely. I don't know anyone who wouldn't want one. We recently decided that we want to add one to our registry, but we are going to wait as it is more of a luxury than a basic need. Winning one would be amazing.

I have been drooling over the Crate and Barrel registry since the day I got engaged. I have gone back and forth on so many things, but I think my favorites are:

    1. Bialetti Cappuccino Maker - We are so excited for delicious cappuccinos in bed on the weekends!
    2. Kingston 2-Door Cupboard - We have been longing for this for more than year. It will serve perfectly for storing all of our wedding gifts.
    3. Fondue Set Cast Iron - I don't think my fiance even knows I registered for this, but I think it will be a lot of fun with friends and at parties.
    4. Footed Cake Platter with Dome - I am so excited to have a place to display birthday cakes and cupcakes. Hopefully it will fit in the Kingston cupboard ;)

  16. Kendra says:

I have yet to register, but the first things I am putting on my list are:
    1. At least Les creuset pot in a fun color; they are so versatile and are absolutely gorgeous.
    2. A good set of knives. I've learned recently what a difference a good knife makes when you're cutting just about anything!
    3. A CuisinArt food processor. I have been wanting one for so many years and can't wait to register for it.
    4. Wine glasses.

  17. Sarah says:

Thank you for sharing these great ideas! I'm definitely going to add them to our list.

    Our C&B "must-haves" include:

-Stockton dishes: I love how the neutral colors compliment each other
-Organics Turkish bath linens in white: They are so soft and comfy
-Shun Classic Knives: These will make all the difference in our kitchen
-Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer: Of course!!

  18. Trina says:

My 4 registry must-haves...I went right over to my own registry right now and narrowed down my favs...

    1. Wüsthof ® Gourmet 7-Piece Knife Set from crate and barrel
    2. Personal Series Jiffy Steamer (soo excited to stop the dry cleaner visits!)
    3. OXO ® Pop Containers from crate and barrell (we already have a few of these and LOVE them)
    4. 14 piece Emerilware Stainless cookware set (we already got this at the bridal shower and they are amazing!)

  19. Lindsey says:

The top 4 you mentioned are definitely must haves. Crate and Barrel is the best. Here are my top 4 items Im most excited about and are definitely must-haves:
    1. New good quality knives
    2. Kitchen Aid Mixer (of course!)
    3. Joy of Cooking book- a kitchen staple
    4. Bodum Bistro mugs (These are coolest things ever. They keep you coffee/tea warm forever! They are a seriously a miracle and i cannot live without the few we have already)

  20. Jo says:

The KitchenAid mixer is actually the thing I most want from our registry. It has so many uses, I'm dreaming of receiving one. Winning would actually be better! My four must haves would be as follows:
    1. KitchenAid mixer as previously mentioned
    2. Matching wine glasses (it will be so nice, to finally have a set of 12 matching wine glasses!)
    3. 15 piece cookware set. We currently have a random mixture of hand me downs, so a complete matching set will be wonderful
    4. Crystal serving dishes - I honestly can't wait to host my first cocktail party with my Tiffany crystal platters!

  21. Emie says:

Oh my gosh! Are you serious?
As an aspiring cupcake shop owner I almost forgot to breathe when I read that you are giving away the one mixer we all covet.

Our four must haves taken directly from our Crate and Barrel Registry:

    1. Kitchen-aid stand mixer

    2. The Mario Batali 4 qt. Dutch Oven in Red

    3. Brighton Full Mirror

    4. Footed Cake Platter w/dome

  22. JoDee says:

Creating a registry has been such a fun process! My fiance and I are actually pretty well stocked, so I'm looking forward to receiving a few small non-essential items for entertaining:
    1. slate cheeseboards from Crate and Barrel - these will make a beautiful table filled with cheeses, finger foods and cured meats
    2. Matching wine glasses for 12
    3. Monogrammed cocktail napkins for 12
    4. Matching appetizer plates for 12

However, I still do no have a KitchenAid mixer and would defnintely LOVE to win one!

  23. Devon Z says:

I registered at Crate and Barrel the day Abby announced the contest! My top items mainly have to do with entertaining and being green while doing so:

    1. Greenpan Frypan- PFOA and PTFE free! Safe and easy to create yummy meals
    2. Cold Beverage Jar with Spigot- I love the vintage look of this drink dispenser and love that it is made out of 100% recycled glass. It is perfect for iced tea, lemonade, or sangria.
    3. Tripoli Server- I'm actually asking for 2 of these adorable three tiered glass display dishes. They look great for showing off baked goodies.
    4. Footed Cake Platter With Dome- This is my absolute favorite piece! It has been difficult to find a sturdy, but stylish cake plate, but this unique handblown platter is just what I was looking for.

  24. gioia says:

i can't wait to start finding the white and black boxes on my doorstep! i hope to find (among many things! ... )

    1. Anna II teapot with sugar and creamer. It'll make me feel like I can host a proper dinner party with relaxing dessert wear!

    2. Reversible counter board with edge. This is fabulous -- It's a cutting board with an edge so it doesn't slide all around the counter. Large in size and awesome to set wine glasses and hor d'oeuvres on when not used as a cutting board.

    3. Plaza coverlet. Love my down comforter, but too hot in the summer. This is modern and awesome.

    4. Halo China dinner ware. Who needs super expensive china, when this is versatile and simply white. Can't wait to splash on the color with the table linens...

Bring on the mixer! :) many thanks!

  25. sarah jo says:

For us, items that increase our ability to relax in this hectic world, and invite our friends along, topped the list: 1) DēLonghi ® Front Access Coffee Maker, 2) The cute coffee mugs to go along: orange morning mugs and orange spash mugs 3) Every single salsa they make! 4) and, importantly, the reversable griddle. My sweet fiance makes me pancakes every Sunday evening and pancake griddles are the only thing which got him fired up about registering! :).

  26. Ashley says:

I think a KitchenAid Mixer goes without saying and is the first thing that I would put on my list of MUST HAVES (not to mention it would go so well in our first home we just purchased in the stainless steel color shown). The three others for us would be:

    1. Starburst Centerpiece bowl (we both think would be a great addition to our round dining table that is presently bare).

    2. Metal or Silicon Baking Set (all my stuff currently is well used hand me downs from our parents...it would be so wonderful to have a new set since I LOVE to bake and he loves my baking).

    3. Cuisine Dinnerware full set (such a modern yet classic white set that would be wonderful for so many occasions in our new life).

  27. Jen L. says:

I have had Crate & Barrel as my top place to register for years....this is so exciting!

    My top registry picks...

    1. Kitchen-Aid Mixer - before I was even with my fiance, I dreamed of placing this on my list.
    2. Calphalon Contemporary Non-stick Cookware - can't wait to stop using the hand-me-down pans from college.
    3. Really nice bath towels
    4. Belgian Waffle Maker - brunch is my favorite meal!

  28. Kelsey says:

    1. Any of the Calphalon Contemporary Non Stick pan line. Obsessed. Things slide right off of it. Calphalon can do no wrong, my fiancee however can when I catch him with a metal flipper or a fork near them.

2.Cuisinart Electric Fondue Pot. I love me some Melting Pot, but it's SO expensive. I can melt cheese and chocolate just as easily as the waiter there can. The electric version is a must though. I don't mess around when it comes to cheese and any sort of bundsen burner or candle will not cut it.

    3. Individual butter dishes. Um, so cute (the ones on C&B.com). Plus I looooove butter. Bread and butter = perfection. I hate at family dinners passing around the butter and then drawing attention to the fact i'm gorging myself on butter because it's ________(insert Holiday here)_____.

    4. Chelsea footed cake stand (C&B.com) Because I love making cakes and a cake stand makes even the saddest looking cake--the ones I try to frost before they cool and they melt into a blob--look nice.

  29. Ashley says:

Wow, i feel like quite the lucky reader to be given the chance to enter this awesome give away. So besides the beautiful mixer, here are somethings, i am dying to have :)

    1. The 21 oz Quench Aqua Cooler glasses
These make summer last all year around. They are beautiful and chic. Perfect for entertaining or sipping from on the porch with my best friend and soon to be husband.

    2. The Mini Bowl set (4)
These colorful little bowls are not only cute but very practical. They will make cooking fun and organized.

    3. Celeste 5x8 Rug.
Okay, this maybe doesn't seem like it is essential...but it is! I am such a ground person, i love to sit, lay, cuddle...ect. on the ground. So this rug is not only beautiful but it is super comfy and will compliment my colors well.

    4. Cuisinart 4 slice Toaster.
Is there anything better than having a perfectly toasted piece of homemade bread every morning? I think not. This item is a definite MUST HAVE :)

  30. Sally says:

I just went to Crate and Barrel to start my registry yesterday and boy....I want everything! My poor fiance was dragged through the entire store while I meticulously compared bowl after bowl, plate after plate. I think for the both of us, these are our 4 must haves:

    1. Healthy Indoor Grill - We both love Korean BBQ and Japanese BBQ and have been looking for a way to do so indoors and at home. This would be perfect.

    2. Baking Stone with Handles - My fiance loves pizza and this is probably one of his favorite items.

    3. Hinoki Cutting Board - You can never have enough chopping boards especially a very good one.

    4. A really good knife set!

  31. Mary says:

When I do register these are the first things that are going on that list

    1. Knife set - My fiance and I desperately want a good knife set! Also, one that has more than 4 steak knives for when we have company!

    2. KitchenAid mixer- my grandmother had hers forever and used it all the time! we used to bake cookies and cakes together and always used it! I loved it and she always let me have one lick of the bowl! Ever since we used hers I always dreamed of having my own when I was a "big girl"! It would be lovely to continue to carry on this tradition!

    3. The calphalon spatula from C&B! We have one, but want more! it's the best one we've ever used!

    4. Metal casserole dishes! I've broken one glass one and shattered two from being a klutz in the chicken! If it hasn't happened to you it's pretty much the scariest thing ever when the glass shatters and goes flying! I think metal is a much better choice for me!

    Thank you!

  32. mLee says:

i just started adding to my registry today!

    i MUST have:

    1 - Krups ® Waffle Maker
    2 - Krups ® Rice-Slow Cooker-Steamer
    3 - Reversible Double Griddle
4 - Cuisinart ® Brew Central Coffee Maker

and of course the kitchenaid mixer!

  33. Carolyn says:

Like a lot of the other readers, my #1 is a KitchenAid too!

    1. KitchenAid Mixer

    2. KitchenAid food processor (rated higher than the CuisinArt by consumer reports)

    3. Henckel knives

    4. Analon pots and pans

  34. Kristin says:

Hello SMP! Here are our Top 4 Registry Must-Haves:

    1. Apple Green KitchenAid Stand Mixer -- although the chrome one is snazzy too ;)
    2. Belgian Waffle Maker -- breakfast is our favorite meal of the day
    3. Break-resistant dinnerware -- for parties and get-togethers
    4. Weber charcoal grill -- bring on the grilled portobellos!

Thank you for the opportunity to enter this contest, we can't wait to see what other C&B picks you have for us!

    Kristin (and Dave)

  35. Shadi says:

I’ve approached my registry by end product. Since my number one kitchen goal this year is to learn how make fresh pasta, I would register for four essentials that would get me there. Check it out.

    1) Kitchenaid Mixer with the Pasta Roller-Cutters to pretend I’m Giada…low cut top and all for the husband ;)
    2) All Clad Stainless Multi Cooker – cook your pasta, drain and then steam your veggies in the smaller insert. Afterall, you want to keep your man healthy
    3) White Bistro Serving bowls and large 8” bistro bowls – seriously it isn’t the same eating fettuccine out of other bowls…the depth, the white, the hominess of it really adds to the pasta eating experience
    4) Stem less wine glasses. Much easier to wash.

Throw in some fresh cut flowers and a glass of wine and you’re ready to go. Cin Cin!

  36. beaninca says:

    1) wine cooler
    2) mixing bowls
    3) serving platters
    4) dishset

  37. Carson says:

my top 4 on my C&B registry that i will rush out and buy immediately if not gifted to me:

    1) Cuisinart Wine Cellar

    2) Cuisinart Hand Blender

    3) Roaster with Rack

    4) of course....the Kitchenaid Mixer

  38. Lindsey says:

Oh Crate and Barrel....so fabulous I don't even know where to start! Well in addition to the Kitchen Aid mixer (of course!), here are a few more registry must-haves for us:

    1. The glass 3 Part Rectangular Dish is a C&B exclusive and a classic piece that has been around for years. The possibilities for this dish are endless...one of the first things I added to our registry!

    2. A pepper mill. My soon-to-be hubby loves freshly ground pepper on EVERYTHING, so a nice pepper mill was his top registry pick!

    3. Lamps - for the bedroom, living room, wherever. There is a huge shortage of lamps in our new home...so I probably registered for more than we really need...but I will be thrilled if we get a few to brighten up our new place!

    4. Silicone potholder/trivet (another C&B exclusive). I registered for both a green one and a yellow one. I didn't even know that they were a must-have until I got them for a shower a few weeks ago. This handy little square can be used as a potholder, trivet or even a jar opener! And in the festive colors they go great with our new kitchen decor. Love 'em!

  39. Elizabeth says:

    1) kitchenAid mixer (of course)
    2) a serving piece (two tier - with rectangle white plates) Its really versatile. My sister received it at her shower and she uses it every time she has company.
    3) wooden salad bowl and servers
    4) knives. Ok, actually I haven't registered for knives yet but I would like to. My husband-to-be insists that its bad luck. I've never heard any superstition about registering for knives. Anyone else?

  40. Kendra says:

    1) The kitchen aid mixer is my number one pick!

    2) A really amazing knife. I'd love a whole set, but one will do for now.

    3) The Cuisinart 4qt. Digital Slow Cooker

    4) The All-Clad MC2 Stir-Fry Pan

  41. Christina says:

The 4 must haves from my Crate & Barrel registry....

    1. Chelsea Footed Cake Pedestal with Chelsea Platters and Chelsea Dessert Plates....I'm completely obsessed!!

    2. Set of 12 Packages Square Plates - Perfect for use as appetizer plates.

    3. Cafe Mug 16oz - Nothing better than a nice big mug of coffee!

    4. 6" Bistro Bowls - Perfect for cereal, salads, and everything in between!

  42. kim says:

i've been working on my registry and our top 4 must haves are all the standard bridal basics i think:

    1. plates!!! we need a compromise between his bachelor pad chipped plates and my flowery plates. i found a nice set at C&B, the cove in blue, that we both love!
    2. cookware - we are still working on exactly what, but i'm thinking nonstick. either way, a matching good set that will last is definitely needed
    3. serving pieces - we have started to entertain as a couple - and my tupperware is NOT a presentation piece! i registered for the 2 tier ceramic one and the chip and dip server. i will be looking for more!
    4. a nice knife set. one that cuts meat. and has matching handles. yes, our steak knife set isn't what we want to rock post wedding!

  43. Melanie says:

    Oh swoon!

    1 - KitchenAid Mixer...oh I love thee...I will give you a good home, promise!
2 - Glass nesting bowls - they are the one thing I use daily from C&B, I adore them!
3 - Reidel wine glasses - they are the one thing I use almost daily from C&B :)
4 - As silly as it sounds, I really love my microplane zester - it's such a handy (and cheap) little tool!

  44. Sara Vallerie says:

    The 4 must haves are:

    1. kitchenaid mixer

    2. dishwasher/microwave safe china

    3. wine glass set (both red and white)

    4. coffee roaster!

  45. Brooke says:

What a fabulous giveaway! Here are our top four:

    1) a set of classic and timeless white everyday dishes (the Claire dinnerware from C&B is my fav)

    2) a set of Gibraltar iced tea glasses for our everyday table setting (the Southern girl in me requires these, but I've yet to find the perfect match)

    3) a stovetop espresso maker, like the Bialetti Cappuchino Maker at C&B

    4) and last but definitely not least, the KitchenAid mixer! I can't decide if I'd want a simple and clean white or a modern chrome, hmmm...

  46. Nina says:

    My Top 4 "Must-Haves":

    1. Cuisinart Blender/Food Processor Combo

    2. a toaster oven

    3. durable microwave (with one-touch features! I like my Sharp)

    4. At the very least, a hand-mixer (not everyone can afford the KitchenAid Stand Mixer, which is why I'm entering!) =)

  47. ljcadv says:

As all the others have mentioned, the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer was the big one, after that is a Dyson vacuum. Those things suck! (in a great way). Our casual china is a big one for us too. Gotta have something to eat off of!

    Great giveaway!

  48. Sherri says:

    1. Kitchenaid Mixer--I refuse to do any sort of baking until I have one. This will definitely make my marriage a happier one.
    2. Ceramic Bakers w/ Handles--My glass bakers are chipped and might be contaminating us with glass poison every time I use them.
    3. Reversible Counter Board--I would love a large, sturdy cutting board that doesn't wobble and leaves me enough room to chop, say, an entire tomato
    4. Aspen Dinnerware--Good, everyday dinnerware is essential and this is so clean and simple that I might not get tired of it in 3 years.

  49. Rachel says:

I am so excited about the C&B giveaway! As soon as it was announced, we immediately started our registry at crate and barrel. I would have to say that my four are:

    1) A new set of fabulous bath linens. Right now, my fiance and I are rockin out with a mismatched set of blue, green, white and pink towels. They are all older than I care to admit. I am desperate to go out and get a great set of towels, but I can be patient and wait for our wedding.

    2) KitchenAid attachments! Ice cream, pasta-maker, food grinder. . .They are all FABULOUS!! (Assuming I win the mixer!! If not, definitely the Mixer - My mom still has hers that she received before I was born. My dad loves making bread in it. My sister loves hers and makes ice cream all the time with the attachement. I cannot wait!)

    3) My fiance loves high gravity beers. I'm a convert. They are delicious! We are making our own brew to give to our guests at our wedding. I would love to get a wine cooler and use it for all the delicious beers and ales we will make or buy and serve to our guests.

    4) Matching silverware. Right now we have some of his, some of mine, and some from roommates past. We have a nice collection. I would like to have a complete set though. ;-)

  50. Rachel says:

    1. cuisinart wine cellar - we started collecting wines when we went to europe a little over a year ago. would love this!
    2. Nuit 4 piece Dinner place setting-I love the color of these and they are fancy and fun all in one.
    3. Green/Bronze Curved Pots
    4. Footed soup Bowl - love this presentation

  51. Meghan says:

LOVE C&B!!! it was definitely our first stop for the registry!!! As for registry top four....

    1. MUST HAVE: KitchenAid Mixer..... or as we call it... the "married mixer"
    2. some GREAT dinnerware... we picked the Kava stoneware... LOVE IT!!!
    3. C&B's Greenpan cookware... ceramic based fry pans that are super eco-friendly!!!
    4. C&B's Parker Bowls.... SUPER cute colorful baking essential!!!!

  52. KateW says:

I am sad to say I didn't have such a helpful website such as this to tell me what I should have registered for when I got married. Being only 22 at the time I was quite clueless as to the things I really should have included. Looking back here's what I WOULD have chosen:

    1. Fine China - I have heard time and again that this is impractical but I don't care. China is one of those things you will NEVER buy for yourself. I still recall who gave me what place settings of my china and how excited I was to see those pretty plates surrounded by tissue at my showers.

    2. Kitchen Aid Standing Mixer - Another one of those things that is so darn expensive you'll ahve a hard time buying one yourself. I WISH I had registered for one! They last for years! Every Christmas I have to borrow my friends in order to make my grandmothers Norwegian specialty, Lefsa.

    3. Wine Cooler - These puppies are soooo worth it. My hubby and I are big wine fans and if I had known then what I know now this would have been worth it's weight in gold.

    4. A Pressure Cooker - I had never used one of these prior to marriage (didn't even know what they were!) but after giving it the maiden voyage with my pasta sauce I fell in love. They make sauces seem like they've been simmering all afternoon in 8 minutes flat! Plus you will never have dry chicken in one of these babies.

SO let's hope I get picked becasue I have been salivating over a Kitchen Aid for yours. My husband and friend will thank you!

  53. josie says:

    Hi,

Oh man I have developed quite the list of must-have items for a registry! in order from top priority down--
    1. KitchenAid Mixer- seriously. before I even saw this post. i think having one will make me an instant "adult" and i will become Chef Extraordinaire!
    2. calphalon brand kitchen pans- i love the copper set but all their stuff is essential!
    3. great knives- i love Wusthof brand
    4. exceptional set of matching wine glasses and champagne flutes- every couple should have them even if you don't entertain often.
    Please give me that mixer!!

  54. Annie says:

As many of the girls have described, the KitchenAid Mixer is like a dream, an iconic beauty in itself! Thus top four registry items include:

    1. KitchenAid Mixer, in white
    2. Weber Performer Grill (at Crate and Barrel now.) My fiancé's equivalent to the mixer!
    3. Great vacuum cleaner, I know this is a little unconventional but I am a neat freak and the noise our current vacuum makes is enough to make us both go mad.
    4. White pearl dinnerware (also from Crate and Barrel.) So sweet and simple, I just look forward to having friends and family over when I see it!

  55. Dena says:

This is such a great giveway! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a Kitchen aid Mixer- it's number one of course. I bake once a week and this would come in so handy in my kitchen. Other than this the following items are top priority!

    1. A complete set of silverware- I threw my friend a bachelorette dinner and I was so ashamed I ran out of forks for the ladies, so this is number one.

    2. Wine glasses- We have been drinking out of old mason jars and coffee mugs. Something makes me think the wine will taste better once we get a set of these.

    3. Stainless Steel pots and pans- I've cooked so much with my last set the teflon has begun to ware off!

    4. Espresso machine- I could save more money by making my own americanos!!

  56. Abby B. says:

We're currently in the process of getting our registry together, but I know for sure that the following items will make the cut. :)

    1. New pots and pans. We desparately need these, as we're currently working with college hand-me-downs.

    2. A new duvet/comforter and nice sheets. Good sheets are an everyday luxury!

    3. Everyday dishes -- without funky patterns. I want clean, classic white. It can go from burgers & fries to quiche in an instant!

    4. The Cuisinart Grind 'n Brew. We're addicted to coffee, and anything that can make our lives easier in the morning is well worth it.

And, of course, a lovely KitchenAid mixer. (this seriously is on my list!) I love to bake, and this would definitely get me inspired in the kitchen to flex my baking muscles. :) Great givewaway!

  57. Sarah says:

It is obvious that a KitchenAid mixer is a staple for anyone that gets in the kitchen and is by far the one thing I want and need. I would like to share some of my favorites that are currently on our registry list.

    1) Cookie Press and Decorating Kit - This is awesome for making Spritz cookies, Almond being my favorite, they
    make great designs!!

    2) Yellow Citrus Squeezer - This is the best thing if you are wanting a single glass of lemonade or juice for a
    recipe

    3) Cuisinart 14Cup Food Processor - Fabulous staple to have around the house for shredding cabbage or cheese

    4) Mandoline - I love having this for julienned vegetables, I make a pasta primavera and this makes it so easy!

  58. Ari P. says:

These are four things we decided were a must on our registery

    1) Waffle maker, what can we say - we love waffles
    2) A set of good knives
    3) A set of everyday dishes - we chose the Aspen set
    4) New pots and pans - our current pans are looking ugly

  59. RebeccaW says:

    1. Double wine cooler, perfect for wine, or frankly any beverage at a party, adds class and keeps us from pulling out the Igloo cooler to keep beverages cold.
    2. Cake Stand- I actually already own the Crate and Barrel cake stand, its THE BEST one, because its tall so you can put a pretty layer cake inside and not worry about the top touching the cake.
3.A stoneware dutch oven, so helpful for making great roast chicken and other dishes- I've been craving one of these for years! Hoping to get one soon.
    4. A kitchen aid stand mixer- i'm so ready to have a mixer that can mix, while i read the next bit of the recipe without losing control of the mixer because i'm multi-tasking. Not to mention not gettting sore forearms from days of baking. Lets hope i get picked so i can finally stop salivating over everyone else's mixers..all of my friends would be so happy to stop hearing about it, and its probably increase my christmas fudge making 10 fold!

  60. Erin says:

We love Crate & Barrel - we received some gifts from C&B off our parent-requested "engagement registry" for Christmas and are loving them!

    The registry top 4 -

    1. KitchenAid mixer, obviously - the only decision left is which color...

    2. Cuisinart 11-cup food processor - I want to make my own hummus!

    3. The 2-in-1 garlic press - the thing on our registry my fiance is most excited about (I know, even more than THE KITCHENAID?!)

    4. Some classic white everyday dishes - we love the Staccato line at C&B!

  61. Kerry says:

    1)KitchenAid Mixer
    2)Food Processor
    3)Bedding / Sheets
    4)Cookware

  62. Ashley says:

    My must haves are:

    1. A set of really good knives - mine are so dull!
    2. Loaf pan - perfect for my grandma's banana bread and mom's meatloaf
    3. Cake stand - to display all my baked creations
    4. A large wood bowl for salads - homemade caesar dressing tossed with romaine and fresh baked croutons

  63. Lillian says:

Just 4? Anna li dinnerware, Oval bark bowls, Acacia Platter, Chambord french press!

  64. Kate says:

    1) A great Chef's Knife
    2) A fabulous set of sheets - when do you allow yourself to buy 400 thread count!
    3) A griddle. My fiance makes homemade whole wheat pancakes every weekend and is lusting after the griddle on our registry (instead of our cheap cheap target frying pan he has to use)
    4) A food processor!

  65. I'm excited to hear everyone's essentials and then figure out what I need to add to my registry. I think I'm going to add those casserole dishes now.

    1. Kitchen Aid Mixer- Everyone I know tells me this is the essential. My mom has had this for years and years and it still works flawlessly. It makes the biggest difference and can take any batch of cookies to the next level. Plus you can make pasta, ice cream and sausage with the attachments. That is amazing!
    2. Wooden Salad Bowl (http://www.crateandbarrel.com/Family.aspx?c=325&f=13313 ) A good wooden bowl is a classic serving piece that can be used for the casual BBQ out on the patio or for a beautiful dinner using your beautiful china.
    3. Krups Rice Slow Cooker & Steamer ( http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=640&f=4410 ): I eat rice with everything. I can't imagine not being able to easily make rice. A steamer is the perfect tool to get it just the way you like it without any extra effort. This product is even better because you can use it for slow cooking an amazing meal or steaming some vegetables.
    4. Coffee Mugs: I love these ones (http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=730&f=1675 ). You have to have good coffee mugs whether it's to start your morning or to sit down and have a relaxing coffee date with girlfriends. My coffee time with friends is precious.

  66. PDXBride says:

    1. All Clad cookwear
    2. Red KitchenAid Mixer
    3. A large wooden bowl
    4. A panini press

  67. Vanessa says:

My fiance and I had so much fun putting together our Crate and Barrel registry.
The four things I would most love to receive would be:

    1. Ice Cream Machine

    2. Uno Belgian Waffler (breakfast is my favorite and I would love to wake him up in the morning with the smell of fresh waffles)

    3. Manaos dinnerware set (mostly because my fiance was excited to find the perfect steak knife set and proceeded to pick up and pretend to use each knife in the entire store)

    4. KitchenAid mixer of course! :)

  68. Jess p says:

This is the hardest but most fun thing to try and narrow it down to 4! Ahh. Well, Even though I would give my right arm for a fancy shmancy coffee/espresso machine, here are the 1st 4 things I registered for, so that counts for something!

    1. KitchenAid Artisan Chrome Mixer...function AND style :-)

    2. Edge Champagne Flutes...These are the coolest design...contemporary and clean, and not to mention, they're for bubbly!

    3. Slate Cheese Board...Love the look of this for cheese and fruits, or any nice spread for entertaining~

    4. Gallery Carafe...I'll be so uber sophisticated with my slate cheese board, it's only natural I'll need to decant the wine :-)

    Love Crate & Barrel!!

  69. Mary says:

Oh my...there are so many favorites that it is hard to list a few, but here goes:
    1. Most obviously the Kitchen Aid Stand MIxer...I'm thinking apple green!
    2. Fine china - we choose Vera Wang Grosgrain
    3. New pots and pans - we choose Calpahlon's Contemporary Nonstick Collection
    4. New knives - we choose Wustof Ikon
    5. Everyday dishes - another Crate and Barrel fav, Celedon dinnerware
    6. Last but not least, a complete, (matching) set of wine glasses and bar glasses

  70. Donna says:

Four registry items that a serious kitchen queen (those of you who cook almost every night and swear your garlic crusted ribeye is so much better than at any steakhouse) are as follows:

    1) Cast Iron Dutch oven: is there anything more versatile than this piece? It's big enough for those family dinners, great for soups and stews, and sears up a great steak (to be finished in the oven, of course). Le Creuset is the magic name, but Lodge and Martha Stewart also have worthy versions.
    2) Good set of knives: duh, no chef (professional or home) can live without his/her tools! Wusthof is the magic name for most, but I myself prefer the nonfussy but sharp basic Forschner knives.
    3) Stock Pot: 8 quarts or bigger. The secret to the extra richness of a restaurant soup or sauce, they make their broth. Save those scraps, make your own stock, it makes a world of difference.
    4) And of course, KitchenAid mixer for the baker. I'm currently in school for a Pastry Arts certification, so a KitchenAid mixer would be a dream!

  71. Aria Witherow says:

4 things essential to our registry would be:

    1) Kitchen Aid mixer - you just gotta have one!!

    2) Tamiko Dinnerware at C & B. LOVE the little raised dots - looks like Milk Glass!

3)An assortment of OXO Pop Containers (okay, okay, i know that's already more than 4, but it makes food storage so much easier and SO much nicer to look at!!!)

    4) Large Bamboo Ceiling Pot Rack.

  72. Kari says:

    Kitchenaide mixer
    Great knives
    Quality bed sheets
    Cuisinart coffee maker

  73. Crystaaalball says:

OMG - It's so hard to list just four items... My fiance and I just love Crate and Barrel and have already started receiving items off our registry! If I had to narrow it down, these would be my 4 favorite (of the moment!) that we can't wait to receive:

    1. KitchenAid mixer - I've ALWAYS wanted one of these so that I can bake all the goodies I've always dreamed off!

    2. Tamara Bedding sheets in Green - We absolutely LOVE this leafy green color, and would look amazing against our yellow walls!

    3. Kita placesettings - We've still been using a mish-mash of dinner plates that we've collected since our college years, so it's going to be amazing to actually have a set that matches for dinner parties!!

    4. Healthsmart vegetable steamer - I love steaming our veggies, and I can't wait to have this gadget to cook some healthier meals! :)

  74. Melissa says:

    1) My china - it was not a must have when i started, but I am in love with my pattern (Vera Wang lace) and am more excited for this than for anything

    2) kitchenaid mixer - i seriously do not have room for this in my tiny condo kitchen but i will keep this in a closet for the next three years rather than skip it.

    3) colored enamel dutch ovens - similar to the casserols above but with added pop.

    4) new knives - i can't wait to replace my crummy Ikea knives.

  75. Joanne says:

We've already registered with C&B so I'm going to pick my top 4 off of my list.

    1. Tableware- Staccato. The entire place setting :-)

    2. Cuisinart 9Cup Food Processor

3.One item we've yet to add: Wüsthof Classic Black 10-Piece Knife Block Set
I use 1 knife and let me tell you, it's NOT sharp at all! You know you need a good sharp knife when you try to cut a pineapple and are left with a big mess and not much pineapple!

  76. Erika says:

    Hmmmmm... My 4 registry must-haves:

    1. ANYTHING off of our honeymoon registry!
(Though we're quite domestic, we can't wait for our South African Honeymoon. We love to travel even more than we love new wine glasses or china!)

    2. KitchenAid Mixer! Can't help it... I adore baking and this baby can mix dough far better than my puny muscles.

    3. Impractical but gorgeous salad servers

    4. Donations to Conservation International, a cause near and dear to our environmentalist heats.

  77. Wailin says:

Here are the top four items from my registry:

1.) Stainless steel pots and pans - I'm hoping these will last forever! My grandmother bought my parents some high-quality cookware when they moved into the house where I grew up, and they're still using it. Those pots have outlasted all the sets my parents have bought themselves in the last 20+ years. That's what I want to!

2.) Rice cooker - I'm Chinese and my future husband is half Chinese, so we are used to eating massive quantities of steamed white rice. My current rice cooker is really small and broken down, so I'm looking forward to the upgrade!

3.) Cast iron pot - I like the idea of doing one-pot meals and having something that can go from the stove to the oven. Also, I've always wanted to try making no-knead bread and I need an oven-safe pot with a lid for that.

4.) Tea kettle - This sounds a little prosaic, but the blue Le Creuset kettle I registered for is adorable and might be my favorite item on the registry!

  78. Stephanie says:

My 4 registry must haves are as follows:

    1) New dinner plates! We have been using hand me down plates for the past five years that do not fit our style at all. I am looking forward to some new plain white plates that match!

    2) Um, hello, that mixer!

    3) New pans - ours are so sorry and I look forward to cooking in some new pans.

    4) A Wii! What better way to spend time together!

  79. Erika says:

    *heats = hearts =)

  80. Youn says:

    1. Walnut Cookware Stand
A must if you have more than 1 short-handled pot. Frees up cabinet space and puts your pretty new pots on display.

    2. Brushed Silver Wall Frames
I like these mod recessed frames to hang-up the choice wedding photos up in a group.

    3. Cambridge Baker and 2-Tier Server
Inexpensive and impressive, perfect for dinner parties.

    4. Bistro Bowls
I love these, I use them for dinner instead of the fancy stuff because the shape holds everything and looks clean, simple and really, really good.

  81. 1) KitchenAid ® Professional 600 Stand Mixer – what more could a baking girl want (other than the attachments)
    2) Lago Table Lamp – love the bold shade of blue the perfect soothing color to add a pop to a bedside table!
    3) Ankara Chair – love the abstract lines on the back of this chair - it would be a perfect offset to my floral sofa.
    4) Porto Mirror – this oval shape is so versatile it will last a lifetime and can move all over your house; vertical in a bathroom, horizontal in an entry etc.

  82. lisa says:

    1) down comforter. i live in minnesota. enough said.
    2) board games -- i love it when i see them on others' registries + will always purchase at least one of them for the couple.
    3) good knives. there is nothing worse than trying to prepare food in someone else's kitchen when all their knives are of substandard quality.
    4) kitchenaid mixer. they last forever. the work hard. they're gorgeous. they scream: i'm a real adult with a real kitchen.

  83. Sarah says:

    1. A Le Creuset Dutch oven.

    2. A great set of knives.

    3. All-Clad saute and fry pans.

    4. A really big stainless steel pot for making marinara sauce and stock.

This makes me want to go set up our registry right now!

  84. Ellie says:

1.) New pots and pans! Ours are getting pretty warped on the bottom.
2.) KitchenAid 9 speed hand mixer.
    3.) Full sized food processor!
    4.) New flatware!

  85. Megan says:

1 - Anolon Advanced NonStick Cookware. This stuff is AWESOME. I registered for the largest set I could find.

    2. Good knives - my dad is a butcher and after living with roommates who do not cook and therefore don't appreciate a REAL knife, I am looking forward to getting a set of great quality knives that will last a long time.

    3. KitchenAid mixer - I don't actually do much baking, but I can't think of any other gift that will make me feel like a "bride" quite like opening this baby will!

    4. New sleeping bags/ThermaRests - Not from C&B, but the boy and I are avid backpackers and welcomed the chance to have our friends replace our worn-out camping equipment!

  86. Jessica says:

Thanks for another great giveaway. These mixers make me think of home and delicious cupcakes! Yum!

    1. A QUIET blender. The one we have we got on sale and it could probably wake up our neighbors' neighbors. It's like a sonic boom.
    2. A food processor. I loved the one we had but I accidentally melted it in the dishwasher. Whoops. Luckily it was cheap.
    3. Matching plates/bowls. I'm feeling a little college dormish right now.
    4. I have been dreaming of a mixer for years, but since there are so many "essential" things I've needed, we've never got around to getting one. I would put it on my registry, because that's the one time you don't have to be conservative; we make our own pasta too, so I would totally get the pasta attachment for it!

Thanks again and good luck everyone!

  87. Beth says:

My top 4 must haves are:

    1. A set of fabulous soft and comfy sheets to make it easy to be lazy in bed with my new hubby!
    2. Riedel Vinum wine and champagne glasses plus 2 Riedel Sommeliers for the special couple!
    3. The kitchen aid mixer because how could a girl not have fun baking with that?!
    4. A set of really good pots because I don't like to cook. Anything to make it easier!

  88. Brie says:

How do I pick just a few?

    1. KitchAid Mixer: My mom and sister have one, and it laughs at me from the kitchen every time I visit. Who doesn't want such a wonderful piece of hardware?!

    2. Wüsthof Classic Black Knife Block Set: It's far too impractical to add to my registry, but it makes me want to put on my best dress and chop something!

    3. Ruffled Pedestals: Because I knocked one of these delightful creations over the last time I visited the store and they were so sweet about it and didn't make me pay for it. It such a sweet gesture, I would be remiss if I didn't buy at least one.

    4. Calphalon Contemporary Stainless Cookware with Double Bonus: Oh la la...

  89. Tegan says:

    1. I was head-over-heels for the Elements dinnerware collection but it is no longer available. The Madison collection is what we're registering for to add to our existing sets. It's the perfect basic dinnerwear set that looks great on its own or dressed up.

    2. The Impressions barware is super fun, but we are going with the York glasses. Very versatile.

    3. The Della Wine glasses-- the mouths are wide enough that you don't have you stick your nose into the glass to take a sip!

    4. The Wide Cylinder pitcher. It's heavy enough to be sturdy but not too heavy that it's bulky and unmanageable.

    LOVE Crate & Barrel e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. :)

  90. Lauren says:

I have so many C&B favorites but the Kitchen Aid Mixer is definitely at the top of the list! That's even the color we are registered for!

    My other three favorites are:
    - Oona 20 piece flatware set (with the matching serving set of course!)
    - Temptation martini glasses
    - Shun classic steak knife set - these knives are incredible and they look fantastic too!

I'm so excited about these giveaways - thank you Abby and Crate and Barrel!

  91. Keely says:

    1. Calphalon Copper Cookware (beautiful & functional!)
    2. Wustoff Gourmet Chef Knifes
    3. I love the Mara wine glasses!
    4. Of course the kitchen aid mixer!

  92. Gabrielle says:

Thanks for the opportunity! I love Crate and Barrel, here are our top 4:

1-KitchenAid Mixer.. seriously before you even posted it I was ready to talk about it!
2-OXO Mandolin ... so random but I need this especially for salad prep and potato chip making!
3-A Year of Cookie Cutters ... I LOVE this candy store jar full of fantastic cookie cutters, and my fiance will love all the cookies!
4-Acacia Bowl and Salad Servers ... Perfect for a weeknight supper or for entertaining!

  93. Kelly says:

    1. Kitchen Aid Mixer- I've been in love with this mixer and when I got engaged this was the first thing I thought of! My fiance and I love to cook and bake together in the kitchen. This mixer would make life so much easier and is a definite register must have!

2.Calphalon ® Tri-Ply Copper Cookware with Double Bonus- Soooo pretty in copper it makes me want to cook even more at home just so I can look at them! Plus a lifetime warranty! Who can beat that!

3.Normandy Bakers- My grandfather is the only one in my family who can make apea cake and shoe fly pie. With the round dishes in this set I could definitely give it a shot, even though it could never match his! I might get close with this set!

4.Cuisinart ® SmartPower Premier Stainless Blender- My fiance and I always make this crab and corn bisque (delicious!) , however, whenever we make it we have to borrow the mixer! Having a blender of this quality would be great and we could have our entire family over for dinner!

Thank you for the opportunity !!! :)

  94. Emily says:

    Oooooooh!

What an exciting giveaway!!! We are definitely registering for TONS of housewares! My top four are:

    1. KitchenAid Mixer (it's kind of funny . . . i did happen to like the silver one best! ;) )
    2. Cuisineart Food Processor - i LOVE making (and eating) mango salsa, all the time.
    3. Nice Flatwear - we like the hammered look of Crate and Barrel's Mesa set.
    4. Nice Wok - Stir-frys are my go-to dish, but we definitely need a new Wok!

    Thanks so much!

  98. alexandra says:

Ok, so the "must-have's" for the Paisleys are as follows:

    1. A fantastic Wusthof knife set. The set we have now is so pathetic, I can't wait to actually be able to cut and slice!

    2. An awesome spice rack. My finace and I have lived together for a year and we still don't have one. Can you believe that?

    3. The Anna dinnerware has always been a favorite of mine, just can't get enough of how sweet the pattern is. And the great thing about C&B is that you can always order replacement pieces, even if it becomes discontinued.

    4. Last but not least, that darn Kitchen Aid Mixer. I don't care what color the thing comes in, it's an asset to any kitchen in any color!

  99. Becky says:

We registered for upgrades on everyday items. I would have loved to put the kitchen aid mixer on the registry but we didn't go much beyond $50 on any single item....unfortunately the mixer is just too pricey of an item for our families right now. Winning it would just be the cherry on top!

    1. a kitchen aid mixer - just having that on the kitchen counter instantly upgrade my 70s kitchen
    2. great set of knives
    3. great red and white wine glasses
    4. travel coffee mugs - sounds like such a minor item but for coffee lovers who take it to work everyday, a good one is essential and we've gone through so many that last only a few months

  100. Chelsey says:

    1. Complete dinnerware and silverware set.
    2. Kitchenaid Mixer. Love.
    3. Tons of white fluffy towels.
    4. A Dyson.

  101. Erin says:

    1. All-Clad cookware. Stainless steel. Gorgeous and the best there is!
    2. Le Creuset french oven. Amazing for roasts, braising, soups, just about everything!!!
    3. Shun knives
    4. Electric can opener--I know that seems weird but I HATE using the hand-held ones so the electric one is a must! And, I prefer the Cuisinart version because it doesn't splash or fall over ever.

Quick question about the giveaway--if we're already registered with C&B is there any way that we can enter???

  102. Crate and Barrel is fantastic! Definitely go with the Kitchen Aid mixer - I have it in retro Vespa yellow - so cool and my favorite kitchen appliance (and pretty too!)

A set of Global knives, if you are a cook, are a great option as well.

Copper pots and pans are another fave of mine for cooking and whether they sit on your stove or hang from your ceiling, your kitchen will have a Tuscan feel - it's like adding art to your kitchen space! Just make sure to buy some copper cleaner and also register for a non-stick pan for cooking things like eggs, which tend to stick.

I can't wait to have something timeless that we can bring out years from now and say "remember, we got this on our wedding day." so great. I know anything from C&B is quality and will last a lifetime. love this place!

  107. Jenn K. says:

  109. Olivia says:

I remember how badly my mother wished for a kitchenaid mixer in the days when we couldn't afford to replace our long-broken dishwasher! She was so happy when she got one from my grandparents. I have loved cooking with hers for about 10 years now, and it is definitely the top of my list! So my list is:
    1. KitchenAid Mixer
    2. Swoon Carafe: so beautiful and unique!
    3. The slate cheese serving boards and coasters
    4. I'm a tea girl, too, so the Assam Tea press is also a favorite.

  110. JD says:

My fiance and I haven't done our registry yet because we're about a year out, but by looking at the crate and barrel website, I've come up with 4 likely must-haves:

1.Kitchen aid mixer! I've been longing for one of these for two months when our hand mixer broke and I tried to make meringue by hand!

2.A nice set of matching dishes, like the Niut Dinnerware so we can stop using the amalgam of dishes collected throughout college

3.A set of nice knives in a block so they stay sharp

4.A nice set of sheets, again so we can retire the well worn college sheets

  111. Lily says:

of course the kitchenaid mixer is a must have but i doubt anyone will be generous enough to get me one! i already have the footed cake platter with dome in my registry. then i have i must have the steel stockpot and my all purpose pitcher! please let me win the mixer!!!

    3. A great serving platter
    4. An espresso maker (my fiance was a barista for 4 years, and it is a necessity in our household!)

  113. Ashley W. says:

These four items will be at the top of our list from our Crate&Barrel registry:

    1) Techny flatware set: We love the geometric, modern shape that maintains it's sense of classic sensibility. They have an awkward grace about them - just like us!

    2) Quartet Dinnerware in White: The rounded corners and unpretentious white palette will serve mac and cheese coupled with Koolaid in a tumbler with every ounce of elegance with which it serves prime rib paired with wine in crystal stems. Simply beautiful.

    3) Cuisinart Grind and Brew Thermal Coffeemaker and "coffee" mugs: Few times are more treasured for us than Sunday mornings. We watch the Detroit skyline brighten out our window with the sun's rise and leaf through the thick Sunday paper as we solve the world's problems for a few precious, uninterrupted hours: all over several cups of steaming hot coffee. That coffeemaker is stunning, and the lovely serif font embossed on the coffee mugs entertains our love affair with fonts and the written word. I can't accurately describe in words how I feel about the matching "cream" and "sugar" containers, just.....oh!

    4) Brushed Silver Wall Frames: I look forward to capturing memories as they are made in the years to come in these classic frames that will survive decades upon decades of interior decorating trends.

And, oh, that mixer. It's so beautiful, and few things say "I am one of two" more elegantly and satisfyingly than a stunning KitchenAid mixer on one's counter. Perfect.

Thanks for this fun feature; I really enjoyed finding just the right words to describe these items!

  114. Kaitlyn says:

CUT: WUSTHOF CLASSIC IKON KNIVES = SMOOTH CHOPPING FOR LIFE!
POUR: WATERFORD LISMORE WATER PITCHER = SPARKLY, FRIVOLOUS, AND INHERITANCE-WORTHY
SIP: SCHOTT ZWIESEL TRITAN WINE GLASSES = CHIP- & BREAK-RESISTANT (=ALSO FOR LIFE)
GAZE: TRIO OF DUBOIS SQUARE MIRRORS = INSTANTLY, MASSIVELY STYLISH & SNAPPY

  115. Jeana says:

    WOWZA...I love this giveaway!!

    1. Bodum ® Assam Tea Press because I LOVE tea and hot tea in the mornings is my coffee so this is something I would love to have!

    2. Panini Grill is also a must because I love a good sandwich and this will cute out a lot of fat and help me keep to my diet.

    3. 15-Jar Tiered Spice Rack is a must because I love to cook and spices are a huge part of my dinner prep ritual. Love this!

    4. KitchenAid ® Artisan Stand Mixer because I love to cook and bake and I own nothing like this and would love to add this to my kitchen!

Do we only get 4 picks, I could go on for days!!!!

  116. Margot Fein says:

First and foremost, I love everything at Crate and Barrel! What a fabulous, beautiful, wonderful place!

    1. Kitchen Aid Mixer! When registering, I knew this would be at the top of our "wish list". I love to cook and am fascinated by all of the possibilities this mixer offers! This is a gift that truly would last a lifetime!

    2. Wusthof Ikon 8-piece knife block set. Once again, when registering my fiance' and I wanted to choose items that would last us for years and years! We watched a knife demonstration in the store and tried these ourselves and fell in love! Not only are they practical and amazing knives, they are beautiful to look at, too!

    3. Cuisinart Griddler- My fiance' and I live in a condo in the center of the city, therefore, we aren't able to have a grill on our outdoor balcony, so the griddler makes grilling the food we love possible without having a backyard and grill! Plus, as a bonus, it is reversible and we can use the flat side to make pancakes!

    4. Chelsea Footed Cake Pedestal- I am absolutely in love with this and the entire collection of platters. They are feminine, chic, simple and elegant. Love. Love. Love.

Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity! Two of my favorite sites combining forces is sure to be a wonderful thing!

  117. EC says:

So hard to pick only FOUR!

    1. Cuisinart 14-cup food processor
    2. Cambridge 2-tier server
    3. Stainless steel mixing bowls w/handles
    4. Kitchenaid artisan mixer

  118. Kate says:

Oh man! I set up my registry tonight not two minutes before checking this blog! Weird!

My favorites are absolutely a) nonstick pans (the all clad variety are perfect), b) tiered spice rack (makes me feel like a real chef, c) a really good, really sharp chef's knife, and of course d) the kitchen aid mixer (although my mom just got the handheld and loves it...is it wrong to want both?)

    Thanks!

  119. Jennifer says:

I'd love anything that makes our post-college kitchen feel more like a real home. I love to cook and bake, but our hodgepodge of cheap and hand-me-dowm kitchenware makes it much less fun. I'd love...

    1. A Cuisinart food processor (or really any food processor that holds more than two cups like my current one)

    2. Dishes that actually match (preferably the amazingg C&B stocatto dinnerware)

    3. Glasses that don't break in the dishwasher, I'm looking at you, stupid IKEA glasses! I love the C&B Ethan glasses the best.

    4. An All-Clad 10" MC2 frypan

Thank you so much for this giveaway, it's the best!!

  120. Amy L says:

    My four MUST haves:
    1. Obviously a Kitchen Aid!!! That was the FIRST thing on my registry and the main reason I registered!
    2. A blender- I love milkshakes, smoothies, margaritas, etc. A blender is a MUST!
    3. A griddle- honestly, gotta have my griddle. Breakfast is my FAVORITE meal of the day and my mom has always used a griddle to make pancakes for breakfast. :)
    4. And...(drum roll)...a toaster! my fiance LOVES his sandwiches toasted, he loves warm toast with butter and cinnamon. A toaster is DEFINITELY something we need!

I could go on with my next 200 (or you could just check my registry), but these have to be my top 4. I LOVE the kitchen! I love baking. I love doing wifey things. I just can't wait to be a wife and my DREAM would be to own a Kitchen Aid mixer in my brand new kitchen! :)

  121. Jenni Brown says:

    1. Absolutely positively is the Kitchenaid stand mixer!!! My sister has one in red, my soon-to-be sister in law has a professional silver edition. I drool and swoon over these mixers as we quickly whip up cookies, muffins and icing do family dinners in a flash! I WANT WANT WANT ONE!!!!!
    2. Bodum tea Press because my man just loves experimenting and mixing up new tea flavors. I personally love mandarin pomengranite tea. mmm
    3. Footed cake platter with dome- I bake cakes all the time and love taking time to put the decoration just right, but it's hard when the dome on my cake platter is too small and touches the cake. All that hard work put to shame! But not with this cake platter! BEAUTIFUL!
4.The 9" round stripe umbrella cover for the patio in Arbor Stripe. It would look so pretty on our new/refurbished patio set!!!!

  122. Debbie says:

Soooooo loving SMP, CB, and this giveaway right now! Thanks so much for the opportunity!

Ok, so for the longest time, I never understood why every bride-to-be wanted the KitchenAid Mixer. I never thought I would want, or need, something like that! That's before I started getting into cooking and preparing meals and baking (thanks to the good folks on the Food Network, hehe). Now, it would be my DREAM to own one!!

My top 4 registry must haves from CB:

    1. KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer (duh!)
    2. Cuisinart Food Processor (another must have for food prep)
    3. Krups Rice-Slow Cooker-Steamer (gotta stick to my Asian roots and have rice all the time, lol)
    4. Cuisinart Grind and Brew Thermal Coffee Maker (my fiance and I love coffee, but hate having to grind the beans separately each time!)

  123. We're already so rich in things that we're doing an Experiential Registry and limited our traditional registry to those items that will really enhance our already beautiful lives. We love to spend time alone, just our own little family of two (for now!), and with our extended circle of family and friends, so everything we "must have" centers around that. Technically, we like to keep it simple, so you might find it hilarious to discover that we absolutely must have:

    1. The Kitchen Aid Artisan Standing Mixer in stainless steel.
    2. The Cuisinart 14 Cup Food Processor, also in stainless steel.
    3. The Kitchen Aid Mixer Attach Ice Cream Maker.
    4. The Mirror Carafe, preferably two.

Of course, if you knew that, to me, keeping it simple means marinating a little flank steak and tossing it with my homemade pesto (made in that Cuisinart), tossing togetheran arugula salad, and putting some peaches on the grill to serve with some home maid ice cream (made with the Kitchen Aid standing mixer and ice cream attachment) and fresh brewed coffee (kept warm in that FABULOUS carafe), it all starts to make sense.

    Wish me luck!
    Love, Paula

  124. Megan says:

    1. A year of cookie cutters. I love to bake cookies, and similarly, my fiance loves when I bake them as well! Except he only gets cut-out cookies around Christmastime... so he'll be thrilled if we would get the year of cookie cutters we added to our registry at Crate & Barrel. Then we can have cut-outs all the time!

    2. Kitchenaid Mixer Attach Ice Cream Maker. My fiance and I devour ice cream like many wouldn't believe. Both of our families also have longstanding traditions of making homemade ice cream on the warmest summer days, so an ice cream maker would truly hold a special place in our hearts for carrying on that tradition with our own family.

    3. Pineapple cutter. A good friend of mine has one of these, and they are truly amazing -- for anyone who has ever cut a pineapple, this is an incredible tool that makes it five thousand times easier. Pineapple is my fiance and my favorite fruit, so I cut a lot of pineapple... this would be perfect!

    4. Of course, the end-all be-all of mixers... the KitchenAid Stand Mixer. What can't it do, really? It can even help to make bread dough and, with the proper equipment, ice cream (as mentioned previously)... yum! What an amazing tool.

Finally, thank you so much for this. I am a new graduate student, and my husband-to-be is a student as well. We won't have much when we get married, but we'll have each other... and possibly a KitchenAid mixer. What else does a person need? :)

  125. Lauren Christine says:

Favorite items on my registry at Crate and Barrel-

    1) Bamboo salad hands (they look like fun)
    2) Rustic white chip and dip bowl (can't wait to use it for our first house party as husband and wife!)
    3) Maison creamer and sugar bowl (they are just so cute and classic)
    4) Kitchen aid mixer (most favorite thing that we registered for, can't wait to bake with it!!)

  126. Crystal and David says:

My fiancé and I finished a kitchen remodel recently and love to cook together almost every evening so almost all of our top picks are kitchen items.

    1. Stainless All Clad Cookware - It would be wonderful to have a nice set of pots and pans to cook our first newlywed meal together (not to mention we really need to upgrade our cookware to items without wobbly handles).

    2. Kitchen knives – Knives are an essential part of our kitchen.

    3. KitchenAid Mixer - We would employ this gem as our kitchen assistant. We would use it to make Garlic Cheddar Biscuits, Pumpkin Bread, homemade pizza dough and our favorite garlic mashed potatoes...just to name a few.

    4. Bed linens – Because someone who fights me for the covers deserves new linens.

Thanks for the consideration and the perfect giveaway.

  127. Heidi says:

    1. KitchenAid Mixer- once I used one I vowed to own one
    2. Coffee maker- We drink a ton of coffee
    3. High quality sheets
    4. Extra bath towels

  128. Heather says:

Cuisinart Popcorn Popper-After many air popped popcorn burns (side of neck being the latest) this little invention is a must have. It's an air popper that won't leave you darting hot little kernels because the top is the bowl and catches all the popcorn...genius!

Three Tier Cupcake Stand-Why? Why not?! I love it. Such a cute and fun way to display deserts for one at our next soiree.

Smartpower Premier Stainless Steel Blender-I obsess over this blender every day. I still have my college blender which saw too many "margarita nights" without proper cleaning and now barely chops ice. My strawberry protein shakes are more like strawberry balls in water. I so need this powerhouse.

Classic Two Slice Toaster-This toaster is like a really good 50's sitcom. You know what you are going to get and there is just something so timeless and cute about it you can't resist.

I pretty much adore Crate and Barrel and this was the first place we registered. The ladies in the store were too cute and even gave us an adorable heart shaped bowl for signing up. Fabulous and has a permanent home on our kitchen table with adorable sweets for guests.

  129. Abbie says:

We actually registered for those casserole dishes! We love anything colorful, too. Our faves:
Pizza stone (we LOVE using these, and our last one broke.)
Stockholm ramekins (you can never have too many)
    Umbrella (for outside entertaining)
Any cookbook (we love to experiment)

  130. lynn says:

Too many fun things to choose from! My favorites:
    1. Maison Dinnerware - so pretty. And the matching part definitely is a step up from our current situation
    2. Rub-away Bar, because my hands ALWAYS smell like onion and garlic!
    3. Wustof knife set - because we love to cook and I feel like it's safer with nice knives!
    4. Tate Bed - because currently we share a full sized bed with our dog!

  131. Jenn says:

I've been looking forward to registering since I got engaged! Finally able to acquire some of the prized kitchen items I've dreamed about owning. That said, of course my first item in my registry is
    1. The Kitchen Aid mixer. I've been fiending one of these babies forever to finally be able to make all my baked goods in my own kitchen. Usually I am stuck having to use my mom's and have been patiently waiting for my own!
    2. A Dutch Oven - have only heard great things about what this versatile item can do!
    3. A complete set of stainless steel flatware..I have my eye on Crate and Barrel's Manaos set. It will be so nice to be able to set the table properly instead of using Walmart mismatched silverware.
    4. All Clad Pans - I've been really looking forward to ditching my teflon coated set and graduate to the real deal!

    Thanks !!!

  132. Sarah says:

Oooo... a kitchen aid mixer would be a jewel to own. I registered at a handful of places, and by far, Crate and Barrel is my favorite.

    My must haves:
    - new bread pans so I can carry on the tradition of homemade bread that my mom carried on from my grandmother
    - grill basket so my future hubby can wow our friends with his mad grilling skills
    - something fun (I have a cute vase and platter on there now), because every woman needs a few frilly pretty things in her house to supplement the practical
    - Krups Burr Grinder because my old coffee grinder just hit the dust and a day without coffee is like a day without sunshine.

  133. Kerri says:

So excited for this contest and the entire C & B feature. I love the store and always wind up walking out with a white and black bag lately!

    My faves:
    1. A great set of matching white dishes. They'll never go out of style and you can always add fun serving platters and bowls.
    2. A great set of knives. I'm oogling a set from Wustof for our registry.
    3. A pizza crisper. It's such an easy thing to make after a long day!
    4. The kitchen aid mixer. It's a must for my doughs and crusts!

  134. Kirsten says:

Not only is this giveaway fabulous, but I LOVE reading everyone's Top 4 wish lists! Such good ideas - thanks gals!

    My 4 registry must-haves...

    1. Digital slow cooker - The thought of being able to throw a mixture of items into a pot in the morning and then return home to a delicious, warm meal after work is heaven! And the smell it permeates throughout the whole house isn't bad either:).

    2. Grill basket - My soon-to-be hubby loves to barbecue, but we've lost lots of veggies and smaller grill items to the fire. With this basket, everything would come home safely and grilled to perfection.

    3. KitchenAid mixer - A kitchen doesn’t seem like a true kitchen without one, and it's almost like you're not a wife until you have one in tow.

    4. Simple, but elegant white dishware - You know when you sit down at a snazzy restaurant and everything matches perfectly, but more importantly, every bowl compliments every plate and so on? I wish for a set of pretty plates and bowls that can be configured in a hundred different ways. White dishware is classic and timeless and ooooh so pretty!

    Thanks SMP and C&B!

  135. Kasia says:

    1. KitchenAId mixer in stainless steel or a fun color like blue.
    2. Set of casual white porcelain dinnerware
    3. Set of matching wine, champagne and water glasses
    4. Set of high quality pots and pans.

  136. Rachel says:

We spent Saturday at C&B setting up our registry! These are our top favs:

    1. Flare Mango Wood Bowl and Salad Servers
    2. Bride & Groom First Cookbook
    3. Set of 12 Packaged Square Plates (several sets for entertaining!)
    4. and of course, the Kitchenaid Mixer!

    Thank you!

  137. jenny says:

I am so excited about so many things on our crate and barrel registry but it seems to be the simple things that i want the most!!

    1. Parker Bowls set of 5-- they are colorful, fun, and would be oh so great to use!
    2. Avocado Slicer-- my fiance and I have a special Love Guacamole recipe that is so amazing
    3. Honey dipper-- ok so it's only $2.95 and i probably should just buy it myself but my future hubs loves tea and this little wand would make me love to serve him up some hot beverages!
    4. Calphalon cookware with double bonus-- i love me some free stuff, even if you have to spend a lot to get it!!

  138. Amanda says:

We are registered at C&B and excited about our picks.

    1. Kita Place settings
    2. Arden Candle Sticks
    3. Glass Bowl Set
    4. Julliete Candleholder

  139. Linh says:

    1. Wine and Dine - I love to host wine and cheese parties and this item would be perfect for a gathering with all my lady friends.

    2. Kai Serving Bowls - Have you ever seen antyhing so clever? I am Vietnamese and use chopsticks on a regular basis, but I tend to just lay them back on the knapkin. Now I will know exactly where to set them!

    3. Essential Dinnerware Starter Set - Seeing how we don't have any plates or cups that match, a matching set would really come in handy.

    4. Kitchen Aid mixer - I'm ready to get my bake on and with one of these babies it will make baking so much easier.

  140. Katrina says:

My pickings are a little unconventional, but with a french fiancé, I'll need to stock up on all things Francais!

UN) Crepe Pan – Strawberry rhubarb crepes? Ooh la la! :-)

DEUX) Basque dining table and benches (from C&B) – A little taste of home for my Basque beau.

TROIS) Cheese and chocolate fondue set – Perfect for entertaining crowds or a quiet, romantic night at home.

QUATRE) KitchenAid Mixer – Alright, this one isn’t French, but some of my favorite memories as a kid involve Mom and me teaming up to bake…and licking all of the batter from her KitchenAid mixer beaters and bowl…this one’s a classic!

  141. Norah says:

I love this! My four registry must haves:

    1) Of course, a kitchenaid mixer. Classic.

    2) A Waffle Maker. Why? Because it's one of those things that I've always wanted but yet somehow can't bring myself to buy. If I don't get it on my registry, I won't ever have it.

    3) Classic White Plates - because food always looks good on it!

    4) A huge stockpot with removable pasta strainer - because colanders are just SO 2008. And, um, I like carbs.

  142. Liane Medley says:

I love the list above. Definitely some great must-haves.

    My Must haves:
.1. Kitchenaid mixer FOR SURE. It can do anything!
.2. A great set of sharp knives.
.3. Versatile set of pots and pans.
.4. Nespresso espresso machine. So freaking awesome.

  143. Gina says:

    1. Kitchen Aid Mixer. No if's, and's or but's.
    2. Hand Mixer- high powered.
    3. Powerful blender with low-noise output (they can really hurt the ears! And wake up the neighbors!) =)
    4. A good set of sturdy baking pans and muffin tins. The kind that don't warp or burn!!

  144. Ellie says:

My fiance and I have never lived together before and are looking forward to making our first house a home. That includes:

    1. The Appetizer Plate Set - we both love having people over and these are smart, cute and functional.

    2. OXO Pop Containers - A friend registered for these and told me that they are a "must have" for the newbie setting up her kitchen!

    3. Cuisinart Coffee Maker - Anyone who says that they don't need coffee in the morning is flat out lying! Cuisinart makes such stylish and reliable appliances that I can't wait to have one.

    4. KitchenAid Mixer - Any color, and model. I remember making cookies with my mom's banana yellow one from 1979. It's the perfect thing to make memories with! (p.s. She is still using hers today!)

  145. Shar says:

    1. The Lucerne Casserole dishes are seriously great.
    2. KitchenAid Mixer because, you won't believe it, I still mix by hand!!
    3. Bamboo cutting boards
    4. And a good blender! For all the milkshakes & slushies we love to make.

  146. Michelle says:

    1. A Le Creuset dutch oven (in red, my fave)
    2. The Kitchen Aid 12 cup food processor
    5. A set of Henkels knives
    4. Of course, the Kitchen Aid Mixer!!!

  147. Caroline says:

    1. KitchenAid ® Artisan Stand Mixer

The KitchenAid mixer is a legend in our family. My mom and my aunt were baking a cake for my grandma when they were little, and when they reached in to taste the batter, my aunt's spoon got stuck in the beaters and her hand got stuck inside. Rather than call the doctor or go to the hospital, my mom wrapped a tea towel around my aunt's injured hand, and they rode their bikes to a small appliance store to get a new beater (in the midst of the accident, the beater had bent!). Their family didn't have a lot of money, and they knew how much my grandma cherished her mixer. I've inherited my grandma's passion for baking, and at 84 she's still using her original KitchenAid mixer to whip up delicious desserts for our family. Not only would the KitchenAid mixer make baking a breeze, I would also remember this cute story every time I glance at the mixer on my countertop,

    2. Bungalow Extension Dining Table

My fiance and I have spent 5 years eating off our laps infront of the t.v. (both at university and now, in our first apartment), which is a terrible way to enjoy a meal-- especially when we both love to cook. The Bungalow Extention dining table reminds us of our time spent teaching in Japan. We love its elegant Asian lines and the extension makes it perfect for family gatherings.

    3. Breville ® Electric Kettle

My favourite kettle broke last year and with all of our wedding expenses, I couldn't run out and buy a new one. In the meantime, I've been microwaving single serving hot water for tea and boiling a pot on the stove when we have guests over-- definitely not long term solutions. I've been coveting this sleek Breville model for months now, and I'm crossing my fingers that I'll receive it at a shower!

    4. Marimekko ® Ruovikko Bed Linens

I swooned at the sight of these Marimekko linens when I spotted them at the new Canadian flagship C&B. Marimekko is known for bright, vibrant patterns, but these calm and neutral linens fit perfectly with our current decor. Love!

  148. Jenny K. says:

    3. Definitely any kind of KitchenAid mixer with all the goodie attachments!
    4. A nice big cutting board!

  149. Sheri says:

You have pretty much nailed my must haves. I love cake stands and would love a kitchen aid mixer. Actually, anything to do with cooking and baking is a must have for me.

love, love, love this give away! I've wanted a KitchenAid stand mixer ever since middle school when my mom and I went out to buy a gift from the registry of the very first wedding I ever attended. At the tender age of twelve I lusted after that gorgeous mixer, and it's been part of my wedding-planning dreams ever since! I was giddy when I added it to our wedding registry, but winning it from my wedding-style mecca SMP would be even better!

Other than the stand mixer of course, my four favorite registry items are not the most flashy or big ticket items but definitely the most personal!

    1. Round Pizza Grilling Stone - my fiance and I fell in love in high school over dinner dates at a local pizza place that we still frequent to this day. We're crazy about pizza and we're both looking forward to married dinners at home making our own!

    1) KitchenAid Mixer - hands down. I'm not the best chef but I make some mean chocolate chip cookies and right now I do it all by hand. I have been waiting for the day where I could justify getting the Kitchenaid mixer, just like my mom has!
    2) Wooden Salad Bowl (acacia) and serving spoon - Another item I've been craving. We eat salad all the time and I love that you can toss in the wooden bowl without spilling everywhere. It's also a fabulous piece for dinner parties.

My top 4 items would be be all about entertaining (which I just *love* to do, but always have to get creative b/c I just don't have all of the entertaining gadgets and gizmos..)

    b) A fabulous party always calls for chips and dip and so the Two-Piece Chip and Dip Set is perfect...love the modern clean design.

    c) Every time friends come over I always think how an ice bucket would really come in handy! It isn't the most glamorous item but gets a little more glamorous with the Silver Ice Bucket from C&B

  183. Lindsay Brandt says:

Our Top Four “Gotta Have” Items:

1.) The Steamer Bar Cabinet – Every time my fiancé and I go to Crate & Barrel we make eyes with this cabinet. It is seriously fantastic and such a space saver. We’re always looking for extra counter space when we have guests over, and this gives us that and so much more!
2.) Waffle Maker – For those leisurely Sunday mornings
3.) Weber Performer Grill – for my fiancé who loves all things charcoal
4.) Kitchen Aid Mixer – The item I have most desired since living on my own but resisted by telling myself “I’ll put it on my registry” – even in those pre boyfriend days. haha

  184. Lauren says:

    My four "must haves" are:

    1-food processor
    2-blender
    3-Oona flatware and serving sets
4-a meat grinder attachment for that kitchenaid - he loves to make lean sausage and ground meat!

  185. Molly says:

My fiance has been dying to register since the day we got engaged! I keep telling him we have to wait until closer to the wedding, but the following items are absolute must haves for us:

    3. New sheets / comforter - Marimekko Lehtimaja bed linens are dreamy
    4. A springform pan - who doesn't love cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake?

  186. Omaira says:

Thank you so much for such a great giveaway. My hubby-to-be and I just completed our registry and we both bee-lined straight to the following:

    1. Kitchenaid Mixer (literally the first one we signed up for, I just love all of the great attachments you can put on them. As a dessert fanatic we of course signed up for the ice cream maker (there is nothing better than homemade ice cream!) and the pasta maker (also a necessity when you have an Italian heritage!))

    2. Fondue pot...My fiance and I met abroad in Switzerland and ever since that fateful trip five years ago fondue reminds us of our first date. We love the stuff! (both cheese & chocolate, yum!) We think that this represents so much of who we are as a couple that we are gifting mini fondue pots at our wedding as favors.

    3. Le Creuset Fry Pan...I would agree that a cast iron pan is a must, my fiance loves to cook with the one we have (I know how lucky am I that my future husband loves to cook?!!). Currently we have one of those "Lodge" cast iron skillets that you can't clean with soap and it's honestly the vain of my existance sometimes! So I'm super excited and will be extremely thankful to whoever gets me one of these puppies. They come in great colors too!

    4. Breville Juicer. I just love LOVE freshly made natural juice, there is nothing better for you! This super awesome piece of modern machinery allows you to have the best juices without even needing to peel the fruit (how great is that?)...or go to Jamba Juice. So excited!

  191. Kristen C. says:

I’m sort of atypical compared with my friends who were married in their 20s and had to outfit a house. I’m 35 and have owned a house for eight years and have already replaced much of the “first apartment” gear. After we’re married, my now-fiance will move into my 700-square-foot bungalow until we can afford something bigger, so we've got to choose registry items carefully because we will be bursting at the seams! My top four C&B registry items, outside of the KitchenAid mixer, of course, are:
    1. The large bamboo ceiling pot rack. I need to get the pans out of the limited cabinets and I like that it’s made from a renewable resource.
    2. The sizzle grill pan so we can make our own fajitas!
    3. Eight years later, I still love my C&B Radio dinnerware, so we don’t need dishes, but I’d like some serving pieces such as the large Tazzo bowl for entertaining.
    4. The Cuisinart food processor, to make all of my chopping and prep easier! [Also a nice complement to the KitchenAid mixer, hint hint. :)]

  196. Mel says:

When I moved in with my fiance, he was a true bachelor. He literally had only one knife, one spoon, and one fork! I've been building on that ever since, but it's been a slooow process.
    1. Kitchenaid Mixer
    2. Dexter Highball glasses (so that we don't have to drink cocktails out of his University of Texas mug!)
    3. Classic Century Dinnerware (so that we can ditch our chipped Target plates)
    4. Oona 50 piece flatware set (so that we don't have to keep rewashing the same fork, knife, and spoon every time we eat)

P.S. I'd use the Kitchenaid Mixer to make him a nice dinner to thank him for putting up with his nagging girlfriend! :)

  197. Liz says:

Creating our registry a few months ago at a C&B wedding event was enormously fun for both me and my fiance. While we love to cook, neither of us was expecting to have such a good time doing wedding stuff early on a Sunday morning! Our top 4 registry wish list:

    1. Dutch oven - so useful and the red one on our registry is so pretty!
    2. Wustof knives - I am so looking forward to owning a set of good knives. They not only make work in the kitchen easier, but they are so also so much safer than the inexpensive, dull ones we own now.
    3. Cuisinart hand blender - It may seem non-essential, but as big soup fans, we can't wait to own one of these awesome tools. Next winter will be full of yummy blended soups!
    4. KitchenAid Mixer - I think every bride, baker or not, hopes to receive one of these at her shower. My dad's mixer has lasted 20+ years, seen countless holiday cookie seasons, and still works perfectly!

  198. Leslie says:

    1. Wine glasses: They've all gone missing or broken and we've had to drink out of juice cups lately.....sad, but true.
    2. Le Crueset Dutch Oven: So very useful and so pretty that you can also use for kitchen decor.
    3. KitchenAid Mixer: I've been dying to make macaroons and I hear you really need a mixer for them.
    4. Spice rack: My spices are all still in the orignial bottles, but I just love a cute spice rack with fun little containers.

  199. Caroline says:

    1) Le Creuset Dutch Oven
    2) KitchenAid Mixer
    3) Set of fine china
    4) C&B Maison dinnerware

    2. Classic Century Dinnerware
I've pined for this set for so long and thankfully it was one of two patterns my fiance and I agreed on! Timeless - each piece is unique and beautiful.

...It's all about the kitchen since we spend a lot of quality time cooking together :) So besides the Kitchen Aid Mixer...which I have been lusting after for many years...here are my top 4...

    1. Calphalon try-ply copper pan...copper pans last forever says mom, this one will be used almost everyday since my fiance is a test kitchen wanna-be...lucky me :)...plus it reminds me of my moms pots & pans...good memories of learning to cook!

    4. Wustof knives...the future hubbs had no interest in registering for gifts until he saw these knives! they will actually improve the quality of our lives...if you've ever had a low quality, dull, hand me down cutlery set you can relate...we'll actually be able to look forward to cutting the bird, ham, roast, etc... at holidays :)

  206. KRice says:

I was kind of bummed when I heard about the new C&B giveaway if you register with them since I had already registered with them MONTHS ago! (I think this was just for people who started new registries, right?) Well either way, I love SMP and Crate & Barrel. Your top four picks were great- two of them I already have on my registry, and the other two will go on soon! My fiance loves pancakes more than anyone I know- that is definitely one way right to his heart, and that griddle would make the process super easy! My other top four registry items are:

    1. Cha-Cha pitcher - for Margaritas to share with the whole fam. during hot summer days!
    2. White Lacquer Bed tray - to keep my family tradition of birthday breakfast in bed going!
    3. Half gallon glass jar with lid - because who can resist cookies in a cookie jar :)
    4. 18 oz. "coffee" mug - to enjoy a hot cup of joe each morning with my new husband!

  207. cmp7767 says:

    Must haves:

    1. White everyday (Stacatto) dinnerware. Clean. Simple. I want them so I can change up my napkin colors, placemats and centerpieces in a snap.
    2. Baking Stones. My sister has several stones in all shapes and sizes and uses them for everything. From dinner rolls, appetizes that need to be heated up quickly, pizza. These are a MUST HAVE!
    3. Kitchenaid mixer. My mom still owns the one she received from her wedding over 40 years ago!

  208. JJ says:

Bum deal! I registered at C and B eons ago, but good luck to that lucky bride who gets the certificate.

    My must haves?
    1. Reversable double griddle. Mr. JJ loves pancakes and french toast, and I can win super wife points for whipping those up for him on this bad boy.
    2. Direction style bar glasses: We love to entertain for cocktail parties, and these would be an excellent addition to our bar.
    3. The Kitchenaid mixer (in stainless steel). I'm convinced I have undiscovered talents in baking and making Christmas cookies with all the women in my family is a huge tradition. I'd love to host our annual cookie party, but *sigh* I don't have a mixer of my own..and there's no way I'm hand mixing 18 dozen batches of cookie dough!
    4. Cast iron round skillet with top: My mom got one of these babies for her wedding 30 yeras ago. She says it's the one thing she got for her wedding that she still uses today.

  209. mrswitzel says:

Just have to say that I have been lusting over a Kitchen Aid mixer for years. It MIGHT actually get me in the kitchen!

    Registry must haves?

-Electric griddle (great for a simple breakfast, no dirtied-up pans required!)
-Cast Iron skillet (Makes EVERYTHING taste better!)
-All Clad skillet (used for just about anything-simple to elaborate!)
-Bed linens that you BOTH agree on!!! Especially if the ones you have are "inherited" by one of the two!

  210. Aly says:

A- for sure a kitchen-aid mixer - they are a kitchen classic, and they work forever!

B- then i would say good pans (non stick preferably) because i will already be learning how to cook so everything is going to take longer already, so i don't want to spend even more time cleaning!

C- after that, probably a spatula (it is a genius tool, that is great for everything!)

D- lastly the glass bowls with lids... because i hear if you store your food in pretty containers, your food will look more appetizing so therefore you will eat it (of course this is for healthy food, because the other stuff always looks appetizing!) YUP- that is my plan for looking fine in 09 for my future man!

  211. Alana says:

Oooh a kitchen aid mixer would be great. My mom has had one for 30 years and it's whipped up some delicious things!

A-kitchen aid mixer (they are so sleek, too)

B- slow cooker (nothing beats coming home to a steaming hot dinner all ready to go!)

C- french press/ bodum (it makes the coffee taste so fresh, perfect to enjoy on the weekend with hubby)

D- linens (a good set makes everything feel luxurious)

  212. Tracy says:

A KitchenAid mixer is my dream. Seriously, I began baking around two years ago as a surprise to my grandmother. We showed up to her nursing home with cupcakes for her and the staff. It was great to see her so excited she mentioned how impressed she was. Imagine how much easier my life would have been during that hectic weekend had I used a KitchenAid mixer!

My second must have are new linens. I want to start my married life out on a clean slate, oops, sheet.

Third would be an amazing cake stand with dome. i like the simplicity of the glass one at c&b, but I also like the funkier ones made of colored glass and porcelain.

Fourth would be an amazing set of professional cookware. I'm talking about pans, pots, steamers, the whole bit. I love to cook and I think that as long as you have amazing equipment, it doesn't matter how big or (in my case) small your kitchen space is.

Great giveaway. Any girl would be lucky to have this indespensable mixer.

  213. Andrea says:

YAY Crate & Barrel! We registered there a few months ago. And we would LOVE the chance to win a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer!

As for other registry must haves:

    1. Stainless Steal Pots & Pans

    (3) an All-Clad stainless steel sauce pan (the pan that works for almost everything you will cook!)
    (4) a beautiful frame for your wedding invitation (I prefer a beautiful dark wood over what you usually see in stores--sterling silver plated. It looks elegant and you won't have to shine it constantly!)

  215. Kirby says:

1- C & B Classic Century 5 piece place setting x 12. I love Eva Zeisel and when I found this stuff, I was overjoyed. I can't wait to see it in person!

    3 - All-Clad stainless steel pot set (I haven't decided which one!)

4 - Whiskey Decanter for him

    3. Kitchen-Aid Mixer - It really makes a huge difference in how baked goods come out!
    4. Amazing linens for cuddling in bed together.

  217. Ashley F says:

Kitchen Aid Mixer = luv :)

I'd have to say the top four things I'm most excited about on my CB registry are:

    and finally:

    4) Cookbook Stand (at only $20 - this is an excellent gift option as it takes up less counter space and prevents your pages from being ruined with the clear guard) Link: http://www.crateandbarrel.com/Family.aspx?c=790&f=5350

Check the links to easily add these to your registry if you like them :)

    Loving the new look!!!

    4. An awesome set of non stick cookware

  221. alyssa says:

Love all the white and classic meets modern that C&B is doing. My fiance and I had a great time beginning our registry there last weekend. Some of our must haves:

    - Good everyday glassware. Given how often we'll use them, we wanted our glasses to be something we really love and enjoy. Working Glass it is. :)
    - A really good coffeemaker, Cuisinart Thermal.
    - Enamalled cast iron cookware. Yum, yum, yum.
    - Something just for fun, and just because you both love it!

    :)

  222. Kelly Ann says:

A KitchenAid Mixer is totally at the top of my list! We have been living together for ten years now, so I really have much of what I would normally wish for. Needless to say my mom's not too thrilled about a shower where all I ask for is a mixer. =/

Other items I would like but don't *need*:

I would love to see a blender/smoothie maker in one. Something interchangable, so that I only have to keep one base unit on my counter.

I'll add what HE thinks we need to add to the list...
A really good non stick frying pan.
    A cannoe.
A drill press, router, table saw... Um yeah... his wish list is far larger than mine.

  223. melanie says:

fab! a KitchenAid mixer is a must, I have one but if I didn't it would be at the top of my registry!

  225. Sarah W. says:

As an American marrying a Kenyan and planning to live in Kenya for some time when my mom made a trip back to America I jumped on the chance to send her for the necessities that just can't be found here. My top four:

    - Pot Holders, enough to get me through a few years cause my fingers are ever getting burned
    - A flour sifter - can't do many pastries without one.
    - A nut chopper - both my hubby to be and myself love sweet breads with nuts in them.
    - soft fluffy fleece throws to match our colour scheme...I love how cuddly they are, especially for chilly evenings.

A Kitchen Aid would be amazing but didn't really fit our budget...maybe next time someone visits us from America :)

  226. Stacey P says:

    1. Mixer. Mine is a hand-held and well that doens't make you want to bake or cook anything!

    - The 3 tier glass Tripoli Server will be beautiful to display the cupcakes I'll make in my new mixer :o)

    - OXO Pop Containers to store all the food we'll be making
    - And last but not least the mini salt and pepper mills (it's about time we breakaway from the "stylish" plastic ones from the grocery store, lol)

Yup, looks like a good place to start!

  231. Kerry says:

So many awesome things at C&B! But for us, we really do need to start with the basics:

    1. Quality knife set
    2. Quality cookware set
    3. White serving plate set (for 8!)
    4. Kitchen Aid stand mixer (well, not exactly a basic, but i would really really love one, saw it on sale at christmas time, but it was still too expensive for us!)

    3. A microplane grater. This comes highly recommended by my mom and works great for parmesan, zesting, and chocolate! Yum!
    4. A set of nesting mixing bowls. I like the Fiesta Bowl set at C&B because I tend to like the light weight of plastic, but a nice clear glass set would be great as well.

  247. Deena says:

Ack. The registry is the #1 thing I am terrified of in all the wedding planning. I am totally lost! I created our registry at Crate and Barrel last week and I haven't even gone in to look at all the different things to buy because I'm so completely overwhelmed. Help!!

That Kitchenaid mixer is seriously one of the most beautiful pieces of machinery I have ever seen. I do know how to bake, and have been working with all kinds of tomfoolery, so I guess this would be a good place to start.

My other registry items? Erm... we only have one cheap Ikea knife at the moment. All of our silverware is mismatched from cross-country moves (both LA to NY and then NY to the UK!). And I have to borrow my future mother-in-law's Le Creuset casserole dish every time I want to cook anything that requires one. So those would be my current top 3. I guess I should go put those in the registry now but the sheer amount of choice even within that limited range is numbing.

I hate to think that I am as clueless as I sound! I've just been so busy with work since I became a grown up that I never had the time to think about putting a kitchen together. If I don't get some intervention I fear the registry will never be started, let alone finished!

    Thank you : )

  248. Leanna says:

    This is so so exciting!

We've been lusting over these for a while:

    1. Block set of super sharp Shun knives - makes us want to have sushi night!
    2. Gallerie coffee table in that rich espresso - ultra functional shelf on the bottom for when company comes
    3. All Clad stainless steel pots - an absolute classic, my mother still has hers from her wedding
    4. Retro glass canisters - if Ina Garten has them, they're going to be a staple in our house. Ina has such incredible style!
