The past two days have been all about weddings that fall in the $5,000-$10,000 range. But more importantly, they are weddings where the bride and groom allow those that are closest to them to really help define the day. Those where their unique personalities are infused into the wedding style. Those where details really shine. And, regardless of their budget, I love that Amy + Matt did just that.

Ahh…I can just breathe a sigh of pure happiness when I look at these photographs. They were shot by Luna Photography and do an absolutely brilliant job at conveying the soft, pretty elegance of the day. Here are a few more details from Amy…
We recycled everything that we could and along with having some yummy micro brewed beers we chose to get a keg of my husband’s favorite organic beer to cut back on the waste (and cost). For a year we collected glass mason and milk jars, some vintage and some spaghetti sauce jars to use as vases and candle holders. All of our candles were hand made by a local man who only uses soy and chemical free products. We wanted our flowers to have a “hand-picked” feel and we brought down a bunch of potted herbs that we planted ourselves. This was a big money saver for us and now the herbs are growing in our garden and in some of our family and friend’s gardens too! The day after our wedding was Mother’s Day so we decided to take our left-over flowers to a retirement home so that the flowers could be enjoyed by the mothers there. We hated the idea of just throwing them away!
All flowers were done by Bouquets of Austin and event planning was done by Aimee of Liz Belle. More on the way!
Oh and here’s a hint about the upcoming giveaway…we are officially calling June, Green Wedding Month, so think super chic, super green, unbelievably awesome.
Hello,
Looks like you had a lovely wedding, congratulations. I'm looking for navy bridesmaids dresses, and I like the dress pictured above. Where did you get it?
Thanks,
Barbara
I bought all of the bridesmaid dresses at forever21. They're affordable, comfortable, and they can be worn again to just about anything!
so so pretty.
everything is so pretty... flowers are great! and i love those birds! where are they from!?
Amy, this is such an inspriation! I am having such a hard time planning my own wedding because I am being told that "x, y, and z" are what you are "supposed to do." However, I want a more personal, "hand picked" feel to my wedding, like what you did with your flowers.
When my friends offer their consturctive criticism, it makes me feel as if that they don't understand my vision and what I'm getting at, almost making me feel like I'm not doing the "right" thing. These photos put it into perspective visually and are beyond helpful! Your wedding is gorgeous!
Can I ask where your dress is from?
Thank you for all of the nice comments!!
Nora- the birds were found at a vintage mall, we had a bunch of different little birds scattered around that we collected at different places for a year before the wedding
Heather- I had a really hard time with that too, everyone has their opinions of what you should do/ shouldn't do. My advice is to do what you and your fiance want, it's your wedding and it should reflect your personalities. Plus its the only time you will get to do this, it's YOUR DAY- so it should be the way you guys want it. We did compromise on a few things, but overall we did what we wanted and everything turned out wonderful and yours will too :) My dress was purchased off the rack at a local boutique. Its Pronovias, I can't remember the style right now- I can get back to you if you'd like.
I love the idea of bringing flowers to a nursing home, so sweet and thoughtful. The details of this wedding are beautiful!
I, too, love the fact that you brought your remaining flowers to mothers at the nursing home to honor them for Mother's Day. That detail cannot be captured in a photo but was priceless.
Amy, your wedding is so lovely! I'm also an Austin bride and I'm wondering what boutique you went to for your dress. Thank you!
Stephanie- thank you! I actually purchased my dress in Colleyville, TX at a boutique called Brides and Beaux. We live near DFW, but chose to got married in Austin b/c we love it so much. If you're looking to save $$, I've heard of a place in Austin called Serendipity Bridal (www.serendipitybridal.com) that has resale wedding dresses or another place I looked was www.oncewed.com- Hope that helps!
Amy, I LOVE your flowers! I am also getting married in Austin in October and am having mason jar centerpieces. If you are not holding onto your centerpiece materials, I would be happy to buy them from you!!! I've been collecting for my wedding, but am definitely still short. Let me know! ~carolyn
Carolyn- I would be happy to sell you what we have left-over. Some we gave to the nursing home with the left-over flowers and we recycled some of the jars that were not vintage, so there's not a ton left. I will see what I have when I get home today. Are you interested in the white ceramic pots too? We have some of those as well. Email me at amypicchiottino@gmail.com and we can talk about it. Thanks!
Amy,
I love your dress! I see that you got it at Brides and Beaux but do you happen to know which designer it is?
- Julia
I need floating candles for my centerpieces. Can you supply the name of the merchant?
Thanks and beautiful wedding!
Thank you!
Julia - My dress was made by Pronovias.
Brandi - I purchased my candles from Precious Soy Candles and Gifts in Ft Worth. They were great, when I ordered them they didn't have any white fragrance-free in stock so they made my candles the same day!
I can attest to how beautiful this wedding was. I would say- the prettiest wedding yet. Very organic, simple but impeccably stylized. Every detail had been coordinated, which made the day very personal- and a joy for everyone.
Glad to say I was there.
