I didn't even notice a similar mishap until we got the pictures. But we did a wine unity ceremony, and the wine was about to drip on my dress, unknowingly. My husband saw it -- a one-time juggler who says he never drops anything -- and dropped the drip just in time. The photo is a hoot.

Hi Sarina! I didn’t think there was any hint of disrespect in your comment at all. I’m from the West Indies, but my heritage is South Asian. I’m 26, so I missed Bollywood’s first kiss (which movie was that?!), but I’ve seen everything that has followed. You’re totally on point about the movies/music videos of today. A lot has changed but it doesn’t necessarily mean that the minds of the older generations have changed also, you know what I mean? And I totally see your point about the bride marrying outside of her race/religion/etc, but public displays of affection is still an issue in our culture despite what media portrays. Remember the many lawsuits filed against Hrithik & Aishwarya a couple years back for their kiss in the movie Dhoom? (Ha! I wondered where those who filed the complaints were when Madhuri was being kissed by oh-i-forget-his-name during the 80’s!)That was my only point. My parents didn’t kiss at their wedding, but her younger brothers and sisters did at theirs. And it would be okay if I married outside of my race/religion/etc, but I’m not sure I would be comfortable kissing in front of family members! I’m guilty of being raised by my old school grandmother! :) I will agree with your last statement about the groom! Ah, the pressure! Poor guy! (But they looked beautiful!)

I understand the cultural perspective but this bride has clearly already bucked the more "serious" aspects of tradition. I mean absolutely no disrespect by my comment. I was only surprised .The first Bollywood movie that featured a kiss on the lips came out approximately 30 years ago. I saw it! My uncle who was a doctor in the former Bombay had to sneak me in by lying to the usher because I was considered underage! Have you seen a Bollywood movie or music video recently? SO MUCH HAS CHANGED! I suspect that the groom was feeling a little self conscious more than anything with all those eyes on him. But I could be wrong.

Just a perspective on the kiss: it could be a cultural thing. Though a lot has changed in the South Asian community, public kissing is still something that hasn’t been widely accepted, especially with the older generation. So perhaps they decided to kiss on the cheek out of respect for the brides South Asian side?
