THIS BRIDE Wanted Some Fun!

June 1st. 2009 by Eddye | Filed Under | 14 comments

THIS BRIDE wanted to do something fun and fashionable … BEFORE the wedding … while her excitement and enthusiasm were ripe! She told her photographer that she didn’t want a typical ‘trash the dress’ shoot, but something fresh and quirky. Straight out of Vogue. Together they found an old abandoned girl’s college in New York. THIS BRIDE wanted a vintage shoot, oozing with glamour … set somewhere at the extreme opposite end of the fashion world. THIS BRIDE is one of the fantastic event planners in our Little Black Book, Candice Dowling of Jubilee Events!

Candice’s fabulous gown is by Modern Trousseau via fellow Little Black Book member, Beth Chapman of The White Dress By The Shore.

Her gorgeous bouquet was created by Elisabeth of Blush Floral Studioanother so-so-so- talented Little Black Book member!

Candice is the creative force behind Jubilee Events … and is getting married this August! We LOVE our Little Black Book BRIDES!!!

How totally chic is she?!?

These stunning photos were shot by Eric Langlois of raw photo design. Hair and make-up by Catie of Dana Bartone & Co.

We just featured one of Candice’s weddings on SMP last week ~ Dagney & Michael’s fantastic Connecticut wedding celebration. The reception took place in an airport hanger! If you missed it, you missed one of the best weddings we’ve featured on SMP! See it here {part i, part ii, part iii} or on Candice’s BLOG! Candice is truly determined to help you plan and choreograph the BEST and most MEMORABLE wedding you can possibly imagine. Definitely a terrific wedding planner. Can’t wait to see her own!!

Another quick note … Candice’s Modern Trousseau gown was from The White Dress By The Shore, one of the finest bridal salons in all of New England. And we’re NOT just saying that because they are LBB members … seriously … they are awesome!

We just saw that … right now, The White Dress By The Shore is having a Couture Sample Sale Event (until June 6th) … photos of some of the samples on their site {here} … and a  Modern Trousseau Trunk Show from June 11th thru the 14th (by appointment) for you and the moms. Beth Chapman at The WDBTS has a website and a blog just loaded with bridal fashion tips and gowns from all the exquisite designers that they feature. Candice has lots of the Modern Trousseau Spring 2010 gowns on her blog.

Sooooooo …. lots of really great links in today’s post! Lots of really great Little Black Book members involved in a fun, fresh and fabulous fashion shoot from one of Style Me Pretty’s “best of the best”!  Thank you, Candice for sharing your stunning day!

OMG this shoot is AMAZING! The bride is super HOT. It's so cool to see a landmark in my area (I live in Dutchess County, NY) featured on one of my fav bridal blogs! Makes me want to sneak in and take sultry photos too :)

Hello, loved the pictures, where can I find out about the shoes? I think this question has been asked twice now. . .where can I get those shoes?

  7. Eddye says:

We've asked Candice to stop in and give us the info on the shoes! I could take a guess ... but I'll hold off a bit until we hear from her!

  8. Hi all!

Thanks for all your sweet feedback! The shoes were purchased at the very last minute after agonizing between a pair of kate spades or j crew. I walked into a store called BAKERS in the mall and those beauties were on the clearance rack!! Total score. Good luck on finding a pair -- they also had them in black and pink!

  9. Yes Candice and Eric totally rocked this shoot! Bakers in the Mall is a hidden Gem...well, I guess not anymore ;-)

  10. Gorgeous images!! Eric totally ROCKED this shoot! And Candice looks completely stunning.

  11. Where in NY is this taken? I am from NY and this is amazing I would love to shoot there :)

    Thanks,
    Steph
