Real Wedding: Youn and Nathan, III

May 28th. 2009 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 11 comments

There is something so refreshing about today’s affair. Not sure if it’s the pretty DIY touches or the sweet approachable style, with hints of whimsy tucked in every corner. Whatever it is, I can’t get enough!

From the fabulous Ken LuallenNot inclined to be oppressively formal, Youn made sure she and her bridesmaids had fashionable flip-flops (pink and purple, of course) available to relax their feet as needed throughout the day.  Their guests enjoyed the creative centerpieces on their tables – monogrammed Y and N mugs filled with flowers.  (Mugs from Anthropologie)  While many recognized her whimsical doilie-and-twine invitation designs echoed on their programs and favor boxes, the most playful banter revolved around their look alike wooden cake toppers.

There were a ton of really great vendors that helped to put this affair together. The first is the amazingly talented Ken Luallen. His images really tell the story of the day and help us to fall in love with all of the perfect details. The flowers were done by Tre Bella and coordination was done by the amazing Bliss Event Group.

A few more gorgeous pics on the way!

I loooove those favor boxes! So cute! My wedding will incorporate a lot of lace as well, and if we have favors, they need to go in boxes as cute as those!

This wedding is absolutely the most stunning I've seen here -- and of course, every wedding here is gorgeous! I love that Youn used such creativity, but her elegance also shines through. Wow, wow, wow. She spent a LOT of time working on invites, favor boxes, choosing colors, choosing EVERYthing! Her dresses are gorgeous and I looove the intense colors for the bridesmaids. The fact that she and Nathan look ridiculously happy doesn't hurt either!

Are those programs DIY as well??? I would love to know what materials you used to print them..is that a stamp on the over, too?? Love it!

  8. Luscious lavender! I am in love with their colors and all the details!

Would love to know how you DIY the programs

  10. Youn says:

For the programs I used a sheet of ivory vellum on top of a sheet of lavender paper and borrowed my friends Gocco machine to print the words on the inner sheet and the design on the vellum. I made the design by repeating a graphic that our invitation designer gave me in a circle (easy, just did it in powerpoint).

and here's what the Gocco-ing looks like:

    I hope that helps!
