One of my very favorite things about my job is discovering new talent. Great new photographers, invitation designers that are just starting out, cake bakers and planners, cinematographers and event designers. It’s so incredibly inspiring to watch people who are living their dreams, who are just taking off on their creative adventure.
Which is exactly why I am so thrilled to introduce Heather Wendling, a brand spanking new photographer who just happens to be one of my childhood besties. I was totally blown away by her work and by the charming, Texas style wedding that she recently shot…

Heather was assisting Ever After Images on this particular shoot, though all of these shots were captured by Heather herself. And, she’s stopping by to share a bit of the detail!
Both the outdoor ceremony and reception took place at Starhill Ranch in South Austin. The ranch consists of several re-stored buildings which have been re-located to the site, including a house for the bride and bridesmaids to relax and get ready, a “saloon” for the groomsmen, a chapel perfect for small weddings, a barber shop which serves as an office for the ranch owners, a large house with a porch overlooking rolling hills where dinner was served and a dance hall with old wooden floors for perfect dancing. Essentially the wedding took place in a charming little town where everyone knew one another. As the night wore on guests were outside under string lights enjoying the beautiful night, chatting on the porches of the buildings, ringing the bell in the chapel (a favorite for younger guests) or inside on the dance floor.
What a beautiful dress! Where is it from?
I agree with K--where's the dress from??
This is just the cutest-ever wedding. I am smitten with the couple, their attire/accessories, venue and decor!
Wow, that dress looks like something claire pettibone would design, but a little bit more feminine.
I love the laid-back rustic elegance of this wedding!
The bridesmaid has THE COOLEST shoes ever...where are they from?
I'm 99% sure that that Bride's dress is the Brier Rose by Kitty Chen.
Omigosh, thank you Cacey!
Amazing pictures, good job, Heather!
Congrats, Heather. Fabulous job on the pictures! You bring your sense of style to everything you do! Lovely.
That's my terrific daughter-in-law photographer, Heather. We are so proud of her work.
I love the posted pictures, I can't wait to see more of your work! You have an eye for the lense! Great job.
