Real Wedding: Sneak Peek
So two really great things are happening today. The first is that it is 66 degrees outside. That may not sound like much, but for a Texas girl who is constantly freezing in Boston, this is the first sign that things are warming up around here. Second, and perhaps even more exciting, is that it just happens to be my birthday! And a big one at that.
So, I am doing something completely unusual and taking the rest of the day off to hang with my little girl and spend some time playing out in the sun. But don’t worry, I am not going to leave you high and dry. So that you aren’t bored to tears working this Friday afternoon, I wanted to leave you with a little sneak peek of a wonderful wedding that just came into my inbox that we will be debuting next week…
And one last thing. I’ve always thought that the real person who should get presents and birthday cake on my big day is my mom. She’s the one that did all the work…from carrying me around in her belly for nine long months, to wiping my tears when I fell down and giving me hugs when I broke up with my boyfriend. She is the one that bought me a Happy Meal when I did well at gymnastics, that came home from work early when I was sick, that stood quietly beside me as I married my true love.
So, to my amazing mother (who just happens to be our Little Black Book Blog editor), Happy, Happy Birthday. Thanks a million for the last thirty years….thirty years that passed by way too fast.

Just wanted to say this brought a tear to my eyes too - it's interesting to look at Mothers Day in particular. The trends in Google searches for the term "mother's day" shows two main results, the smaller one on the fourth Sunday in Lent, from the British tradition of Mothering Sunday, and the larger one on the second Sunday in May from the Anna Jarvis inspired day.
