Darcy and Matt’s country chic wedding was planned and coordinated by Married & More by Michelle, a Seattle-based event boutique. What an amazing job she did! The simplicity of the Farm Kitchen venue combined with the intricacies of the the leaves (and the food you’ll see in a bit) … and the branches ~ inside and out ~ bring such a feeling of natural wonder to the whole atmosphere! LOVE it.
from Michelle …
Their intimate ceremony, led by Reverend Mary Calhoun was touching and heartfelt. When it was time for dinner, the dining room was revealed to guests and they were invited to find their names on a beautiful tree of manzanita branches. Each name card (mmm…paper) was tied to a leaf favor from Still Life Gifts to take home and enjoy. Darcy found these unique favors that are made from real leaves dipped in copper.

What are the green things filling the vases? They look perfect for the centerpiece idea I have in mind...
Hi Katherine - they are dried peas
Where did you find the white umbrella? I'd love to have those for my wedding!
What type of tree branches do you have on the tables for centerpieces? Are those orchids attached to the tree branches?
What a beautiful organic look!
OMG! The centerpieces are EXACTLY what I am planning to do...even down to the dried peas! One question though...did you use fresh orchids or did you manage to find the blooms preserved by freeze-drying them?
I was hoping to use freeze-dried, as I'd be able to build them a few days in advance, but I can't find the green cymbidium blooms any where! (save-on-crafts.com only have fuschia and white)
Can you help?
Love the colors. It looks fabulously fresh and inviting.
To answer some more questions...the vintage umbrellas are rented from Bella Umbrella. They are based in Seattle but ship nationwide and are fabulous! www.bellaumbrella.com. The tree branches are manzanita branches and the floral attached to them are fresh mini green cymbidium orchids.

what a gorgeous ring. so unique!
Where is her wedding dress from?
I love the ring as well, I would love to know the story behind it! Where was it from? Pllllllllleassssse share!
Darcy's wedding gown is Diamante from the Pronovias Collection. http://www.pronovias.com
The Cymbidium Orchids were fresh, and one reason we love to use cymbidiums is because they are super hardy. They grow on long stalks, and will last a long time - you could set up the branches in the vases days ahead, and then just have someone cut the orchids off the stalk an attach them to the branches the morning of. They'll easily last all day and night without water. Just be sure to hydrate them plenty before that! It took a lot of split peas to get that effect, I think we bought about 40 pounds for Darcy and Matt's wedding!

That ring is gorgeous!
I love the manzanita trees!! Do you mind sharing what you used to attach the blooms to the branches? Thanks!
Is there any water in the vases?
How exactly did you dry out the peas? Love the look and it is cheaper to do the peas as vase filler and I never thought of drying them out!
