Daughters of Design

Amy and Sean shared this exquisite wedding day with over 200 of their family and friends at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Annie Lee, founder of Daughter of Design assisted them in planning and designing a hugely successful wedding celebration from start to finish!

The invitations and paper suite were designed by Atelier Isabey … with birds, different kinds of Chinese lanterns, the double happiness Chinese Character, and their last names in Chinese characters. Being Chinese American, it was important for Amy and Sean to incorporate as much of their old and new culture into this wedding. Swarovski Crystals were hand applied by family and friends. The edges of the escort cards were carefully stamped with gold shimmer ink. Each table menu also had numbers in Chinese characters printed on them – incorporating more of the east meets west culture.

The gorgeous flowers were designed by Jasmine Blue Flower Shop and that amazing cake was from Susina Bakery & Cafe. All of the beautiful photographs are courtesy of Cherie Foto.

Guests were surprised as members of the USC marching band followed Sean & Amy into the reception!

Dresses – Amy wore three dresses throughout the wedding. It is Chinese tradition to change three times. After wearing her Jim Helm dress for the Ceremony and first dance, she changed to a beige/soft pink silk chi pao (traditional Chinese dress), and then to another red silk, lined with gold chi pao.

And a huge thank you to Little Black Book members … Daughter of Design, Atelier Isabey and Living Cinema for sharing their wedding with us!

Love the wedding. Any idea where the water bottles came from? I have seen these a lot, but have found them to be expensive elsewhere. Let me know. Thanks so much!

Love love the decor, ambiance, and glamor - everything from the cultural integration to the personal touches such as the meaningful "Generations of Love" were well thought-out to fit the vintage theme of your celebration. Amy, your colors definitely fit well with the romanticism of the wedding, including the bridesmaid dresses. Where were you able to find those by the way? Again, to reiterate previous responses, beautiful bride and groom! :)

  5. I love her qi pao. The perfect shade of red.

  6. Kris says:

My groom is a huge Trojan fan. He'd die to have the fight song at our nuptials. How did you get the band to come out for your event? Also, I love your veil, simply gorgeous!

  7. Amy says:

Thanks Jessica! The bridesmaid dresses were from BCBG. I got it during their annual warehouse sale for $45 each!!! Such a steal for 100% silk gowns!

Thank you professional bridesmaid :) I love your name :)

Kris - You can contact Brett Paddelford (brettp@usc.edu) at USC. I can't remember how much the cost was. I want to say around $1500 with most of it being a donation to the band (so tax deductible too). They are soooo awesome. We kept it a secret from all of our guests and even our wedding party. Many of our guests said that the band's performance was their favorite part of the wedding! Good luck!

  8. Thanks Amy! You looked stunning in all your dresses! Great job with all the glamorous details.
